  1. Jenkins could hit .500 with 100 HR's and people would find something to complain about. The truth is he's been one of our best hitters with RISP this year and has a number of clutch hits already this season, they just get glossed over. He has however had a miserable May and I hope he breaks out of the slump soon.
  2. Nice AB's by Jenkins and Fielder there, they worked the count deep enough that Pedro might not make it out of the 7th.
  3. I really don't want to see Hall play every day, he's just not very good against righties and he kills Lefties. I hope Hardy figures out whats wrong with his swing sooner than later. I think Hardy has a chance to turn into a legit .800+ OPS guy, I just don't see that out of Hall vs righties. I'm also pretty sick of all the small sample size bashing in general, are you guys going to complain when Lee or Fielder can't hit the board side of a barn for a month later in the season or when Capuano can't find the strike zone and posts a 5+ ERA for a month (which he will do) or is it going to be complaining about the guys that got off to a slow start all year again like last season.
  4. At least Turnbow is fresh to mop up the 8th inning for us and keep this a 7 run game.
  5. I'm at work and noticed they took Fielder out, did he get hurt running to 1st last inning or what happened?
  6. I'm all for Jenkins getting a day off, but its hard to say that someone hitting .280 with an .819 OPS isn't hitting a lick.
  7. Colorado wins with a walk off walk on Wheeler.
  8. Don't know then, it sounded good at least~.
  9. Lets see, Wed night was a Buck's playoff game.. today wasn't. Does that explain some of it?
  10. A lot of pitchers look bad early in the season every year. Its way too early for talk like this. Do you think the Astros are gonna move Pettitte to the bullpen because he's struggling? Do you think the Twins should have moved Santana to the bullpen last May? You just cannot bench a proven starter over a small sample size and you need at least a good 10 starts to have a decent sample.
  11. I think you need to look up the definition of immigrant because no we aren't all immigrants. Most of us have ancestors that were, but most of us aren't.
  12. No closers can be a real pain. I drafted Gagne and Jones and Rodney and crossed my fingers that Gagne stayed healthy. I then picked up Burgos and Cotts and dropped Rodney. Of course Cotts lost the job, Gagne got hurt, Jones got hurt and Burgos got 1 save in the first 2 weeks so it was ugly. But I did manage to pick up Otsuka and Jones came back and Burgos got a couple more saves and I picked so now I'm charging back up the rankings mostly because of a spike in SV's.
  13. Somebody forgot to tell the Brewers that its Sunday. They are still mashing like its Saturday.
  14. Maddux comes out before the 7th inning a lot, if we just make him work we can always get the runs back on the bullpen.
  15. He hit .318 with 36 HR and a .951 OPS in 2004. Hard to call last year his breakout season. He also hit .300 with 34 HR's in 2001.
  16. He was jawing at the umpires after LaRoche was called out at 3B and got ejected. With Sheets coming off the injury and being such a terrible hitter I don't mind them pinch hitting for him there.
  17. Of course he's going to leave Davis out there. He's gotta work through it eventually and they aren't going to kill the bullpen bringing them out in the 5th inning unless they have to.
  18. Thats a bit over the top. Last year he had a 1.61 WHIP in april as well and went on to post a 1.30 for the yaer with a 1.25 in the second half. In 2004 he posted a 1.50 WHIP in april and went on to post a 1.31 for the year with a 1.27 in the second half. For whatever reason Doug has issues early in the season and gets stronger as the year goes on. He's just fine as a #2 starter as shown by his 482 IP of 3.51 ERA and 1.30 WHIP career as a Brewer going into this year.
  19. Davis has a history of coming out slow in April. Not really worried about it although I must say its really frustrating.
  20. So is it actually Miller in there or Moeller. Gameday still says Moeller.
  21. I don't think anyone is really going to argue that striking out with runners on 2nd and/or 3rd with less than 2 outs is a good thing. Its just not nearly as bad as most make it out to be. A line drive right to an IF is actually worse than the K as it still probably ends up as a double play. A pop up, a weak fly out, a grounder that doesn't score the runner etc are all just as bad assuming there is no error. The second problem is that by reducing K's you are also reducing your SLG indirectly. If the hitters are worrying about putting the ball in play instead of driving the ball you are reducing the HR's, doubles etc that the team is going to hit with RISP. Its just not a completely black and white issue. I'd love to see the team cut down on K's with RISP but I don't think the difference between us being a good or bad team is so cut and clear that you can blame it on K's in those situations.
  22. Jenkins first hit for an RBI incoming!
  23. even money says this game is lost on a wild pitch/passed ball here.
