  1. Bad call by the umps going the way of the Brewers - could this be a sign of things turning around... hopefully?
  2. Sales Engineer for an architectural window company
  3. And in that one playoff year, the Brewers did fire the manager after 2 months of sub-.500 play and replaced him with someone that was able to turn the talent at hand into a World Series team. As old as the '82 comparisions are getting, that's one I wouldn't mind seeing replayed. Does anyone recall what roll Harvey was filling before taking over for Buck?
  4. I had the game on the whole time, but can't say I really watched the whole thing. Did some stuff on the computer during the middle innings and jumped on the treadmill for the infamous eighth... so at least a little something good came out of the night for me.
  5. Well, that is 43 minutes more than the Brewers normally get during the usual Sportcenter schedule.
  6. Ned - please don't burn up Stetter's arm here. If you burn out Turnbow's, at least you can DL him, and spare him the feelings of being cut... which can be the only reason he hasn't so far. How about a Cirillo-like clean-up pitcher?
  7. High School (late 80's) - '79 Ford Van - full size, previously owned by an electrical contractor, so we got to carpet & panel it ourselves. College (early 90's) - '85 Chevy Chevette - little 4 cyclinder was efficient for 4 hour drives back home. First Job (mid 90's) - '89 Ford Pick-Up - needed 4WD & bed for hauling supplies at construction job... been 4WDs ever since.
  8. And at 14-11 in the almightly AL East they would be in first place, ahead of the Red Sox & Yankees! Just like I don't expect the Rays and Orioles to stay ahead of the Sox & Yankees all year, I don't expect the Cubs & Cards to stay ahead of the Brewers all year... once the offense kicks in - looking forward to Cameron being the missing spark.
  9. With Sheets recent propensity for random injuries, I'd also rather have Bush have available to give 4-5 innings out of the bullpen. (And he's a better option with the bat, given all the extra innings and short bench http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif )
  10. Ned was just talking about this during his post game interview. My interpretation was for Ned to talk about it the way he just did, this decision was made before today's game. And at that point Turnbow & McClung were both coming off successful outing... so today's disappointments weren't included in that decision.
  11. As just reported by Craig Cushon on today's post game show (added turnbow and mcclung tags --1992)
  12. Post game Craig Coshun, " This isn't the first time Wes Helms has stopped the Brewers from winning" I know he was refering to his time after leaving the Brewers, but I can think of several times when he was part of the team that would also apply.
  13. Nice time for Helms first hard hit ball all weekend Just when Turnbow takes the lead in the pitcher to get rid of contest, McClung comes racing back up alongside him.
  14. Sorry, I meant the 10th... let's try it again.
  15. ^ I had the same thing on Friday. At that point they gotta be spending more on packaging than chips. What's in there... 1/8 of a potato? Come on, fill it up!
  16. Did you mean Braves? Check out the date stamp on reply #987 - 04/27/58 2:08 PM http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Charity smelt fry luncheon at the softball sponsor's bar starting at 11AM... didn't think my first appearance in the drunk thread would be at four in the afternoon.
  17. With all that speed on the bases, how about a triple play. Anyone remember the last time the Brewers pulled one? Edit: A couple strikeouts work, too.
  18. A "slap" would be symbolically appropriate. I'd like to hit him hard like Bill Hall.
  19. Wes's pathetic weak "hits" are really starting to annoy me
  20. That's OK, Prince prefers to hit game winning HR in the 8th inning.
  21. Stetter deserves the winner after that top of the inning, let's start piling boys!
  22. How does Stetter look with a bat in his hand? The offense could use a little of his 'clutchiness'
  23. No problem, and the #5 guy for good measure, too. (Mini Man Crush Beginning)
