    I tend to agree with this. Unless we get an offer that is crazy .. we just don't know which one (outside of Chourio) is going to bloom yet. Their trade value is low ... I'm holding on all 3. Nothing wrong with giving Wiemer 200 at bats in AAA to start the year.

    That's more so my point. You are insinuating the Brewers didn't reach out at all to JD's team to ask, and then faulting them for it, without the knowledge of ... unless there is info out there I missed.

    Another tradeable piece at the deadline if things don't go well. .984 OPS (80 at bats) against LHP last year. .798 career OPS vs LHP

    The collection of starters we have leads me to believe it so, but are we assuming Pat Murphy is going to follow Counsell's MO of not letting starters face a lineup a 3rd time? Seems like we have a bunch of arms that are 3-4 inning types. Seems like a lot of piggy-backing is on our horizon..

    I just said this to my brother tonight. Chourio is our Love and Yelich is our Jones... if they trade Adames and/or Williams ... they are just handing the reigns of this franchise over to the new era ... all young and inexperienced and we are going to learn and grow with them. Lots of highs and lots of lows.

    Is there a cliff notes version website or can someone explain this part to me? I don't quite grasp the bonus pool money and how it can fluctuate, how much each team has, etc

    It is in my very humble opinion that we should maybe wait until opening day and see the total domino effect these moves have on the roster before declaring.

    I mean ... kind of. We have had a couple of teams in recent memory that were more than good enough to go the distance.

    Definitely. The MLB ZiPS projections are what they are ... but the other things brought back by potential deals (future prospects, picks, money, et) are all a big part of it. Just pointing out how big or not big the WAR movement would be on the MLB roster..

    So if we say Hall is a direct replacement for Burnes we are -3.3 and if we say for kicks and giggles that Ortiz replaces Turang 1 for 1 we are at -3 overall on the move.. What will be the mind bend is if we now deal Adames and Ortiz replaces him (-2.3) ... we will need whatever is returned to make up 5.6 wins in order to break even on the ZiPS projections on the 2024 MLB roster.

    Thanks for everything Burnes. It was cool to know what having a Cy Young winner felt like. I hope Hall wears #2 so I don't have to buy new merchandise.

    You mean you aren't going to jump to conclusions and act like you didn't just look up who both of these players are in the last 10 minutes and become an MLB scout like 80% of the responders here? Interesting move..

    Maybe I need someone to explain buyouts to me. So 1 yr at $12mil w/ $4 mil buyout if opts out (so $16mil total). But if he opts in next year is $18mil. So if he opts in he doesn't get the $4mil and we are then in a 2yr contract for $30mil total, correct?

    Take this for what it's worth, but late last night my girl friend from Philly texted me this: "Just know that you all are getting the best, most amazing man in the sport. My all time favorite (and I mean favorite) baseball player.. take care of him. This one hurts 😞😢🫡" I don't think we will have any clubhouse issues with him by all accounts...

    But until the conversations are released we just have no idea what went on behind the scenes, right? All we know is he is hurt and there were talks about trading him and then we non-tendered him. So if the story comes out that the Brewers offered BW 2yr/$14mil and Woodruff turned it downed and asked to be given the chance to look for a trade .. then the Brewers let him explore that - isn't that treating him EXACTLY how they should have? I guess I just can't waste angst on something speculative.
