  1. I mean ... kind of. We have had a couple of teams in recent memory that were more than good enough to go the distance.
  2. Definitely. The MLB ZiPS projections are what they are ... but the other things brought back by potential deals (future prospects, picks, money, et) are all a big part of it. Just pointing out how big or not big the WAR movement would be on the MLB roster..
  3. So if we say Hall is a direct replacement for Burnes we are -3.3 and if we say for kicks and giggles that Ortiz replaces Turang 1 for 1 we are at -3 overall on the move.. What will be the mind bend is if we now deal Adames and Ortiz replaces him (-2.3) ... we will need whatever is returned to make up 5.6 wins in order to break even on the ZiPS projections on the 2024 MLB roster.
  4. Thanks for everything Burnes. It was cool to know what having a Cy Young winner felt like. I hope Hall wears #2 so I don't have to buy new merchandise.
  5. You mean you aren't going to jump to conclusions and act like you didn't just look up who both of these players are in the last 10 minutes and become an MLB scout like 80% of the responders here? Interesting move..
  6. Maybe I need someone to explain buyouts to me. So 1 yr at $12mil w/ $4 mil buyout if opts out (so $16mil total). But if he opts in next year is $18mil. So if he opts in he doesn't get the $4mil and we are then in a 2yr contract for $30mil total, correct?
  7. Take this for what it's worth, but late last night my girl friend from Philly texted me this: "Just know that you all are getting the best, most amazing man in the sport. My all time favorite (and I mean favorite) baseball player.. take care of him. This one hurts 😞😢🫡" I don't think we will have any clubhouse issues with him by all accounts...
  8. $12.25 is a super tradeable number for Adames... just as an aside.
  9. Oh my gosh you weren't being sarcastic and that was a real post. Good gracious.
  10. I think he was just sarcastically pouring it all into one response so we don't have to listen to the endless replies of people's displeasure.
  11. Happy for him. That contract will take care of his family forever. Best of luck and thank you for being a Brewer!
  12. But until the conversations are released we just have no idea what went on behind the scenes, right? All we know is he is hurt and there were talks about trading him and then we non-tendered him. So if the story comes out that the Brewers offered BW 2yr/$14mil and Woodruff turned it downed and asked to be given the chance to look for a trade .. then the Brewers let him explore that - isn't that treating him EXACTLY how they should have? I guess I just can't waste angst on something speculative.
  13. *Yawn*
  14. My assumption is the rumors of his 'fallout' were exaggerated and it falls into the category of "can't believe everything you hear".
  15. LOL can you imagine: "Hey Rickie, thanks for your interest in the position but we were watching your game tape and you always seemed to struggle making that throw from behind 2nd base so we don't think you can lead young men and help process situational baseball in real time. Have a great day."
  16. I also have a weird feeling Erickson is going to get every opportunity to win the job.
  17. How dare you approach this topic with reason and foresight.
  18. Oof. This is hard news.
  19. Lol, you are awesome.
  20. Heck if we are posting resumes Id do it for $1/4mil and a daily food stipend. I'd also post a poll every morning on this site asking for lineup suggestions. We would be a community run organization.
  21. Moving into September was it really only Tellez and Winker as the options though? Mitchell provides so much more, even when you take the bat out of the equation. I realize the Brewers' brass knows better than us ... but take a quick poll on this site on who people would want in a critical situation right now between Winker and Hiura .. I think it is a landslide. Winker and Black, I think the same. Heck, Winker and Chourio. I guess I didn't realize on 9/1 that the Brewers were going to decide between Rowdy and Winker for a pinch hitting spot ... otherwise there would have been noise amongst the fan base, no? We had no more options?
  22. I haven't started drinking yet today but I promise if I see Winker as the DH today because he has a hit off of Gallen in his career... it won't take me long to find the bottom of this Jack bottle.
  23. Pitching your closer in a 1 run game in the playoffs to give yourself a chance at a game 1 win makes no sense? what are we even talking about.
