  1. Spain outplayed Germany today, and deserved to win. I think Germany really missed Moeller on the outside.
  2. Camby was playing for Portland when Gooden was traded to the Clippers. They never split time. I think you will eventually be pleasantly surprised that Drew Gooden is not as awful as you think he is.
  3. I thought Forlan's goal was pretty sweet, it had a lot of pace and movement on that shot.
  4. I thought Forlan's goal was pretty sweet, it had a lot of pace and movement on that shot.
  5. In agree that the RealGM board has some good stuff, but the overall "sky is falling" menatility from a lot of posters is frustrating to read sometimes. So Gobias and Twirl, overall how would you rate the job Hammond has done in his first couple seasons? I disagree w/ some of the decisions he's made, but overall I feel he has been one of the best GM's out there. I really like his ability to quickly cut ties w/ a player when he realizes he's make a mistake. A lot of GM's have a hard time doing that. I also think he's done an amazing job of overhauling the horrendous roster he was given into a very deep talented team.
  6. Nice, I agree. So far I like everybody the Bucks have acquired this off-season, and I think we'll have a very deep roster next season. It'll be interesting to see how Drew Gooden fits in w/ the Bucks, fans seem to either love him or hate him. I keep hearing contrasting reports on the structure of the contracts, so I'll wait to comment until I find out for sure what they are. I still hope Ridnour is resigned, and I'd love to have Kurt Thomas around the team in some capacity, maybe as a player/coach.
  7. Wow, I don't mind Drew Gooden as a player, but the length and money of this deal shock me. I will wait until the Bucks confirm it before believeing it, this does not seem like a deal Hammond would do.
  8. You get a 15 man roster. Here are 15, am I missing anybody? PG-Jennings, Ridnour SG-Salmons, CDR, Redd SF-Delfino, Maggette, Hobson, PF- Ersan, LRMAM, Sanders, Gallon, D. Jackson C-Bogut, Thomas
  9. Teams can start negotiating w/ free agents tomorrow. It should be a very interesting off-season for the NBA w/ Lebron, Wade, Joe Johnson, Nowitzki, Bosh, Boozer, Amare and Paul Pierce among the top free agents. John Salmons opted out of his contract today, and the Bucks have to decide whether they will pick up Delfino's 3.5 million option today. I'm hoping the Bucks bring back Salmons and Ridnour, I also loved what Kurt Thomas brought to the team w/ his leadership and the way he stepped up in the playoffs. Who does everybody think the Bucks should go after?
  10. Its too bad Argentina and Germany have to play each other already, I think they are the two best teams in the tourney and I would've loved to see them play in the finals.
  11. I like all three guys. It seems that all of them are smart basketball players that play hard. I like Hobson as a point forward, and I think both Sanders and Gallon compliment each other well and could probably play some PF/C together eventually. Overall I think this was a good draft. Now, I just hope they bring back Ridnour, Salmons and Thomas and I think we'll be a very solid team that could compete w/ any team in the East.
  12. I'm hoping one of Hayward, Babbit, or Henry will be available at 15, I think the Bucks need another good outside shooter. I also wouldn't mind if we traded back and got either Larry Sanders or James Anderson w/ a late 1st. Either way, I'm very excited to see how the draft ends up. I think there is a lot of talent in the draft.
  13. I think the games have been very good so far, like other people have said usually the first game teams are playing a little more defensively because they don't want to lose. The defensive scheme worked for Switzerland, and was the only chance for a team like North Korea against Brazil. Do you really think the MLS has been more entertaining? If so, I'm not sure what to tell you.
  14. What a great soccer weekend. So far I'm most impressed by Germany and also thought South Korea looked very good. Argentina looked good, but gave up way too many opportunities to Nigeria and were lucky not to concede a goal. As far as the US-England game, I think we were very lucky to come away w/ a tie, but I'll take it. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Ricardo Clark in the starting lineup, he is not a good soccer player, period. Bradley plays much better when the pressure is off of him to be the holding midfielder, they need to put either Dempsey or Torres in that role. I thought Demerit did a good job on Rooney, but overall the US gave them way too much space, and left the back side runner open time after time. The D will need to tighten up. After watching Algeria and Slovenia on Sunday morning, I think we have a good chance of advancing to the final 16. The key will be to stay composed and make them chase, because it seems like both teams play 150 mph.
  15. So, QL who do you like w/ the 15th pick if Babbit, George and Henry are all gone? I think you are really underestimating Hayward's basketball pedigree, he has been great at every level, and was one of the best players for Team USA in the FIBA U-19 World Championships. I think people look way too much at measurements instead of basketball IQ, his measurments are not that far off Babbits, besides reach. I'd be willing to bet that he will be one of the top 10 players out of this draft a year or two from now.
  16. Four more days til kickoff, I can hardly wait! Is anybody in Madison watching the US v. England game somewhere? I'm trying to figure out a fun location to watch it.
  17. I don't think you can every count out a soccer team just because one player is out. I look forward to Ivory Coast using this injury as motivation and for others to step up in his absence, also there will be extra motivation because its the first ever African World Cup.
  18. I agree w/ that, I really hope they have something else figured out, I don't want to see Bornstein or Spector starting at one of the outside backs. After watching the last 2 games, I really hope they go w/ a backline of Bocanegra, Demerit, Oneywu, Cherundelo. I was very dissapointed w/ the whole squad after the 1st half, but was amazed how much better they played in the second half. It gave me a lot of hope that they will be ok. I thought the Torres for Clark substition and the switch back to the 4-4-2 formation were the keys.
  19. Anybody watch the US vs. Czech game last night? They lost 4-2, but didn't even suit up most of the star players. I though a few guys played well enough to earn a role in the WC. I loved the way Stuart Holden played, I thought he earned a chance to get some minutes in South Africa. He played at a very fast pace, won a lot of tackles and displayed a very nice touch. I liked what I saw from Maurice Edu while he played midfield, but not so much when he moved to center back. Onyeywu looked a little uncomfortable in the back, but will hopefully improve in the next 2 games before the tournament. Herculez Gomez looked good up top, and both Buddle and Ching played ok too. I think the four forwards will be Altidore, Gomez, Ching and Buddle.
  20. http://www.ussoccer.com/News/Mens-National-Team/2010/05/US-MNT-Head-Coach-Bob-Bradley-Names-Preliminary-World-Cup-Roster.aspx Maurice Edu is on the preliminary roster, and most likely will make the final roster. He is listed as a midfielder, but I read something where he has been playing outside back occasionaly w/ the Rangers. Chris, I agree that Bradley will likely stay w/ a two forward lineup, but I think Dempsey is too valuable as a midfielder to put as the second forward. I also am not impressed w/ the other forwards on the roster, so I was trying to think of what I would do if it were up to me.
  21. I'm kind of hoping that they play Altidore alone up top w/ Donovan and Dempsey running off him as offensive center midfielders. I think Altidore does a good job of holding off defenders and would thrive in that formation. So that would be a 4-3-2-1 formation? I'm not sure who I would put as the last seven, but heres a guess. I'd rather not see Gooch and Demerit both playing center back together, because of the lack of quickness and speed. Altidore Dempsey, Donovan Clark, Bradley, Holden Edu, Gooch, Bocanegra, Spector/Cherundolo
  22. I could see him going to the Clippers. That would be quite the storyline, Kobe vs. Lebron in LA. The more I think about it, the more sense it makes. Think about it, a lineup of Baron Davis, Eric Gordon, Lebron James, Blake Griffin and Chris Kaman. I think they only have one more player under contract, Deandre Jordan, and then they could let Lebron pick the new coach and who he wants on his bench. Mark it down, its going to happen.
  23. I like Hayward a lot more than I liked Dunleavy coming out of Duke, I think he has way better basketball instincts and will be a better player.
  24. With the 15th pick I'm really hoping the Bucks take a good look at Gordon Hayward from Butler. I absolutely love what I've seen from him in his young career. He's 6-8, has a great shooting touch, is an underrated athlete, and has a very good understanding of the game. I know he's a bit of a tweener defensively, but I think he will be better than people think at that end of the floor, and will make up for those shortcomings w/ his diverse offensive game. I've heard people compare him to Steve Nowak, Mike Dunleavy, Kyle Korver and other guys w/ one-dimensional games, but I think he is a much different and more complete player than any of those guys. I think he will eventually be an all-star, and will also be able to help a team right away. I could be very wrong, but thats the feeling I get. Other than that I'm not interested in the other guys that are projected to be available at 15, but I trust that John Hammond and the Bucks F.O. will find the right player. As for the 2nd round, I like Dominique Jones from South Florida, I think he will become a solid 6th/7th man, and if he ever develops a consistent jumper will be a very good player.
  25. Who's going to protect the land now?
