  1. I like Kendall as a backup C, thats about it. Definitely not as a starter.
  2. Its good to see him adjust so well to Milwaukee. He seems to be a really likeable person w/ a lot of superstar qualities. I also think he is going to be a very good basketball player, he has a good understanding of the game, and he seems quite advanced for a 19 year old. I think eventually him Redd, and Bogut could be a very solid threesome in this league, possibly even championship caliber.
  3. He is a very good hitter w/ risp, and he actually takes walks, his contract is not as bad as I thought it would be. He signed a 4 year 27 million contract. So he makes 6-7 million a year, and he only has two seasons left on it. I think he might me worth it if he can come anywhere close to his 06' season, plus he is much better defensively than Estrada.
  4. Would it really take Bill Hall and Vargas to pick up Joe Crede. Thats a little ambitious. Anyways, I hope that Braun will get better at 3rd next season, but if he doesn't look any better in the first couple weeks of spring training, I would hope they wouldn't be afraid to put him in LF, and put Hall at 3rd
  5. I know that his contract is horrible, but if we can get them to eat some of that contract, he is a very clutch hitter, and I think a pretty good defensive catcher. What kind of package would it take to get Hernandez?
  6. I just noticed that on the Saturday game report at JS online written by Rick Braun, mentioned that Greg Gross had 2 singles for the Sounds. Nice job Rick! http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=645697
  7. Wow, that would be unbelievable if we could get Teixeira. I would hate to lose 3 prospects like Inman, Jeffress and Cain, but I think this would make our lineup so much better. If he could handle LF, he would be the perfect #5 hitter.
  8. If he didn't impress you, escpecially in the first 3 games of the series, I would love to see what it would take to impress you. I thought he looked like a great ballplayer.
  9. Whats going on w/ Jermiane Dye this year? Last 2 years he has been unbelievable, and this year he has been horrible, mostly due to some nagging injuries. I can't help but wonder if he would be the guy we need to trade for at the deadline. Everytime I think of Jermaine Dye, I think clutch hitter. Do you think a change of scenery might bring the Dye of the last 2 years back? I think w/ his average plummeting, now would be the time to get him as cheaply as were going to. My proposal is Escobar, Jackson and Mench for JD(probably not enough). Let him get the majority of AB's in LF, and let Jenks be the 4th OF, giving plenty of breaks to all Hall, Hart and Dye to keep them fresh for the playoffs. I think this is the move we need to make, along w/ picking up another solid reliever.
  10. Me and one of my good friends who knows nothing about baseball were at Mcgillicudy's on a Saturday night 4 or 5 years ago and Geoff Jenkins was there. I saw him walk by, and I told my friend who he was, and my friend who carried around a Henry Blanco police baseball card in his wallet at the time, called him Hank Blanco, and asked for his autograph. Geoff was not very pleased with him.
  11. When I was about 7 or 8 my Mom took me to Dunham's to get a new glove and we noticed that Charlie Moore was standing right there, I've never seen my Mom get so excited. He was really cool, and down to earth and told us to use shaving cream to break in our gloves. I never forgot that. Thanks Charlie.
  12. Is there any way that Byrnes might be traded, since contract negotiations have broke off. He looked really good in that last series vs. the Brewers. He is definetly having a career year and it would take a lot to get him, but he might be worth looking at. He seems like he could be a huge sparkplug.
  13. I just read on CBS Sportsline that Noah Lowry is going to be available if the Giants stay out of contention. I know he walks a lot of batters, but his era is 3.35, and he is a 26 years old lefty that has had mlb success, if he could get back to his 05' statistics, I believe he would be a very solid #2 or 3 starter. Do you think it would take a ton to get him? How about packaging Escobar, Zack Jack, and Claudio Vargas for him.
  14. I was wondering if there is anybody that has seen Mike Jones pitch this year, and if you could let me know how he looks.
  15. I was trying to say what would it take to get Cordero w/out adding Gallardo and Inman. I think it would be worth it if we could get him for Zack Jack and one or two other mid tier prospects. He is a great relief pitcher, and I think it is crazy to compare him to Dan Kolb. He has been lights out since entering the league, and he is only 25 years old.
  16. I saw a little blurb on Rotoworld.com that Chad Cordero could be had for a couple of prospects. Why would the Nationals trade him? He has to be at least 2 years away from free agency, and he's 25 years old w/ a career 2.63 era. What could we offer besides Gallardo and Inman to get him? (better subject -TC)
  17. I feel like I'm always hearing about problems with the Nats and Church. I think he is a talented player, and I wouldn't mind taking a risk on him if he wouldn't cost us too much.
  18. I really think that it is worth the risk. To have him break the home run record in Milwaukee would be pretty cool. Plus we wouldn't have to give up any draft picks, and he would make the middle of our order look very formidable.
  19. Not cheap, but I think he'll sign for around 10-12 million for one year. I think he would draw a ton of people to Miller Park for various reasons.
  20. I don't think that it will cost too much to sign him, and the payoff could be huge. It says in an article on www.mlbtraderumors.com that the Brewers are not one of the teams that are out of the running for him. I'm not sure what that means. I would be absolutely amazed if he came here, but how would everybody feel if we somehow landed Bonds? I would also be pretty excited about it.
  21. I think we would have to give him a major league deal. Also Jose Capellan is definitly not going to the minors next year. He will probably be a 7th or 8th inning setup guy.
  22. How is Jenkins considered a lousy outfielder, he is a very good defensive outfielder, and has hit over 25 home runs in 3 out of the last four years and has a career .849 ops. I actually wouldn't mind keeping him, but it is fairly obvious that he will be traded.
  23. Why would it take way more than that? Jackson is considered a future middle of the rotation starter and Jenkins would be an upgrade over Jay Payton. What if we picked up some of Jenkins contract and added a reliver, maybe Turnbow for example, would that make it more realistic, or would that be too much?
  24. Since the A's are looking for a DH or leftfielder, what about offering Jenkins or Mench and maybe Zack Jackson for Blanton? He is 26 and is coming off a 16 win season in 06', and a 200 inning with a 3.50ish era in 05', and hes only 26. It says in the A's winter meetings checklist on MLB.com that he could be available. I think he would be a very solid #2 or #3 in our rotation for a long time. Then we could sign someone like Craig Wilson or Jose Guillen to play in left for us.
  25. Rotoworld has posted a link that Greg Zaun maybe coming to Milwaukee to split time with Damian. I'm not sure about this signing, I really like Rivera. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=MLB&id=2091
