Thanks for the advice, I don't think we'll go to Murphy's. Go Brewers.
  2. yoshii8
Where is Bernies at, and why is it better than Murphy's?

My wife and I are in Chicago for Wednesday and Thursdays games, and very excited about seeing some baseball. Anybody up for bloody marys at Murphys??

I've been offered Russel Martin straight up for Derrick Lee, is that a trade I should do? I have Carlos Delgado as a fall back at first base.

I think they want Adenhart and Ervin Santana to step in for them, . Not bad replacements at all. Plus they will only miss the first month or so. I think they might sign a Jeff Weaver type fa, but I think they'll be fine.

Starters Sheets, Gallardo, Villanueva, Suppan, Parra Relievers Bush/Capuano, Vargas, Mota, Shouse, Riske, Torres, Turnbow, Gagne I think one of Bush or Capuano will be traded, Vargas will succeed as a long reliever. If we go w/ the 13 man staff I think this is what we go with. I go w/ Parra as the #5 so he can limit his innings, otherwise he would be up there as the #4. I believe this is one hell of a pitching staff, I can't wait until the season starts.

I believe we will get a pretty good player back for whichever of the 3 players we trade. I think that Cappy could get back more than you think.

I'd like to see a Ricky Romero and Robinzon Diaz deal for one of our starting pitchers, would that be too much to ask for? From what I hear Robinzon Diaz is a 23 year old catcher and hits for a high average, and Romero is a lefty that has a lot of potential but has had some shoulder problems.

Can someone give any sort of update, or recap as to what has happened so far?

I really hope that Rottino makes the team as the backup catcher, I like his bat the most, and from what I hear he has improved tremendously behind the plate. In my mind I think he has the most upside, and is probably just as good or better already than Munson or Rivera. He also seems like the type of player that would benefit a ton from learning the ropes from guys like Kendall, Simmons and Yost. I also think a lot of fans think the only reason he is being considered is because he is a local kid, which is totally untrue. He has been a good player in the minors, and has always exceeded expectations.

Thats sounds like a lot of fun, I know of two Brewers prospects that are playing for Canada. Taylor Green, who was the Brewers minor league player of the year last season is a third baseman, and Alexander Periard is a pitching prospect for the Brewers. Have fun at the game, I look forward to seeing the pictures.

I think if we have another pennant race with the Cubs, and more fans start to show up at Wrigley the rivalry will start to get a lot bigger.
  13. yoshii8
Out of the three competing for the job I really hope that Rottino wins the job. I've heard that he has improved a lot defensively, and he is a good contact hitter w/ some power and speed. If not Rottino, I hope that we trade some of our excess pitching for a better backup.

Me an my wife will be there for the Wednesday and Thursday games. I'm very excited wear my Brewer gear in Wrigleyville, its going to be the start of a great season. I think there is already a pretty decent rivalry between the Cubs and Brewers, but I feel like the Brewers fans care way more about the rivalry than the Cubs fans.

Me and my wife are going to the Wednesday and Thursday games the first week, I'm very excited.

I would like to see Fielder, Braun, and Hart locked up for a long time. All three of these guys are very special hitters, and to have three guys capable of .900-1.000 OPS's locked in the middle of your order could make us a contender for a long time. I think they are the guys we should build our team around. I have a hard time not including Weeks and Hardy in this group, but I think that at least one of these guys will have to be traded to fill other holes, due to the money it will take to resign the rest. I hope we can keep them all, but I think its going to be very difficult. I

I would think that Suppan would make the rotation before Bush, Cappy or Parra.
  18. yoshii8
Well, I still thought the fans I talked to and saw in St. Louis were courteous, and way less drunk and obnoxious than the Miller Park scene. It was also cool seeing everybody in the park wearing red, and cheering for there team. I also loved the so called "toilet" city of St. Louis, you must have gone to the wrong places.
  19. yoshii8
I think St. Louis is a great place to go, the fans seem like great baseball fans, and the stadium is also pretty cool.
  20. yoshii8
They will showcase guys in spring training, but I highly doubt that they would risk putting a lesser pitcher in the rotation just to create more trade value.
  21. yoshii8
Yeah, but eventually your going to have to let your bench play, and you will need pinch hitters for the pitchers spot. Its a long season, and injuries do happen, so I don't think they will rot on the pine.
  22. yoshii8
I like the idea of getting Teargarden, or possibly a Jeff Mathis, Kelly Shoppach, or Gerald Laird type for pitching. I'd like to get a young catcher to split time w/ Kendall.
  23. yoshii8
Since when is .230/.285/.354 just not good, thats awful, why wouldn't you send Dillon or Rottino out there vs. lefties. I'm not sure I understand the logic of, its not like he can't get a hit once in a while, when you have a lot better options. That makes absolutely no sense to me, if we trade for him, he would have to face only righty's. Thats why I want Rolen, Ethier or LaRoche.
  24. yoshii8
I would be very excited if we could get him for Capuano and prospects, but I think the Yanks will get a better offer, or just keep him. I don't think I'd be happy if we gave up Sheets for him.
