  1. Per my ticket rep: You will be receiving a letter late this week which will explain this years renewal process, including the options of rolling over their Postseason money or obtaining a refund. There will be two options that are outlined in the letter you'll be receiving. One is to get a refund the other is to keep your money on account. There will be renewal deadlines outlined and as long as you do meet them you will be considered a renewal account.
  2. http://metsfever.blogspot...-roster-rules-change.html No clue how credible this is, but here is a link explaining the rule changes in playoff roster rules over the past couple years.
  3. Cam and CC
  4. http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/story/10374233 This article says the service time clock does start on September call ups. I've heard conflicting reports on whether A) it starts because they are on the MLB team or B) it does not start because they are not on the 25-man roster. If anybody else can add or contribute, please do.
  5. Four teams chasing deal for Sabathia Posted: Sunday July 06, 2008 09:00AM ET The Yanks would love to acquire a starter before the July 31 trade deadline and C.C. Sabathia is the biggest name in the market. Nevertheless, the Yanks want the price to fall precipitously, which is unlikely. The Cubs and Phillies also were described as more motivated to land Sabathia than the Yanks. And foxsports.com reports the Dodgers are heavily involved in the sweepstakes as well. New York Post I never read the New York Post and certainly never will after this and the early, erroneous reporting of the All-Star starters.
  6. WSSP was wrong. They thought Green and Cain played on West Virginia and Sparky reported they were both out of that lineup.
  7. voted 75 times yesterday and today--spread the word: WRITE-IN RUSSELL
  8. Brewers calling it an 8-year deal By Tom Haudricourt Thursday, May 15 2008, 09:54 AM The Brewers are calling their new deal with leftfielder Ryan Braun an 8-year deal, because they're including 2008 in the contract. Braun already was signed for this year, however, so it's a 7-year extension. By going through 2015, it buys out his first two years of free agency. I expect the deal to be worth around $45 million, which would be the largest in club history.
  9. because he would be making at least 10 million in each of his arbitration years and well over that in his two years of FA that this buys out
  10. Second-year player's contract to run at least through 2015 -McCalvy I hope he is right
  11. i realize this point is moot now, but what were the chances of braun being a super-two and having four years (2010-2013) of arbitration?
  12. if ramirez's deal is any type of template, braun will continue to make his $455,000 this year. the seven year deal should begin next year.
  13. if its a seven year deal (2009 through 2015), that should buy out two years (2014 and 2015), no?
  14. and the brewers traded for elmer dessens roughly one year ago
  15. I agree completely, but don't necessarily mind that the national pundits are picking the Cubs. The only thing the Cubs did in their off-season was add Fukudome, who will not replicate his power numbers in American ballparks. Zambrano is a very solid number one, but beyond that, nobody in their starting five scares me. Especially with the all of the righties in the Brewers lineup ready to mash Lilly and Hill. Marquis and Lieber are garbage, and the thought that moving former closer Dempster to the rotation doesn't mean he is going to become a better pitcher. Keep picking the Cubs ESPN.
  16. Nonetheless, it is a terrible article and that's why it is on Page2.
  17. It's ranking the teams based on their "cleanliness" in terms of substance abuse.
  18. The Kansas City Star reports that the Royals are interested in signing Kevin Mench.
