  1. True, but a lot of time in our lifetime baseball hasn't gone our way. It's truly heart breaking. There's soon many extra games to get to this point. Next year isn't given to anyone. Really needed to take advantage of a home game 7.
  2. Well, this is still why you need starting pitching. Sucks. I'm better like this as apposed to a 13 inning loss.
  3. His baby face will also forever be on the DVD cover. That'd be great!! I'd make him the first PH for a pitcher tonight. Hopefully, there'd be a couple runners on. Be a great story for the guy to come through when the home town fans counted him out just like most of the baseball community has counted the Brewers out.
  4. I'm not super concerned about what that group thinks. I don't think they honestly care who wins. To be fair, the Dodges were pretty much the team to beat coming out of spring training. I wouldn't go so far as to say the Brewers already won by getting this far, but I can see how maybe some non-Brewers fans would say that. I thought they had good things to say about the Brewers last night and the energy in the stadium. The Kratz interview was good as well. Win tonight, and they'll have no choice but to talk about them. It won't stop you know, even with a WS trip. Then we'll here about how great Boston is (which they are). It's time... 36 years in the making. Not that I don't think hearing about the 82 team is great and all but it's time to put a new team into Brewers lore!
  5. Let’s say it is the 6th in a close game with Shaw or Moose up. They bring in Kershaw. Do you pinch hit Santana or do you stay with your LHB to keep them active for their power righties coming later from the pen? I'd hold. Moose and Shaw are capable of really good ABs even against lefties
  6. Buehler is good, but he's also young and has all the pressure on his shoulders. If the Brewers keep the approach they had last night they'll get to him. If they try to jump out of their shoes to be the hero, then well, advantage Buehler. Counsel has managed about as well as possible. I think Chacin gets the ball at least 3 and from there you manage the pen to keep the mental edge. Holding the best relieves, Hader and Knebel until it's necessary. I'm not sure exactly what that is but I'm saying I wouldn't just put Hader in in the 4th with no sign of trouble in a tie game. All the hard work during the season, finishing with the best record is on the line now and is why you play for home field. Everything is in the Brewers advantage to start, IMO. I don't care what line Vegas has. Buehler is good but he's young and on the biggest stage of his career. He's not been super dominant in the post season. I reeellly think the Brewers get to him early. Let's GOOOOOO!
  7. Yes, I'd think so. At the very least a LOOGY in a tight spot. I'd also expect Miley is available to do the same. Kershaw isn't quite what he used to be but he's still really good and I think still has some intimidation factor with the game on the line
  8. So, just to see if I can clarify my understanding. If I don't have season tickets for next season the earliest I could purchase WS ticks through the Brewers is Monday AM. Or, pay whatever the resales sites are currently selling them for?
  9. The crowd will be fine. A lot of people have already spent premium dollars on playoff tickets for multiple games. I agree, that game 6, as far as a reward isn't as appealing as the first 2 and obviously a potential game 7. The fans that are there will be fired up and ready to cheer. I think it's not super realistic to expect people to be constantly loud and cheering when things aren't going well. That would not be unique to a Milwaukee playoff crowd. It was pretty quiet in LA when things were tight and not going well for the Dodgers. In the end the Brewers will have to perform to get the crowd in the game not the other way around. Put the crowd in the game early and maybe the team can feed off of some energy, though I don't know how much I necessarily believe in that sort of thing.
  10. Up until couple days ago this is the same team the ripped off 12 in a row to get here. Coming home to an electric atmosphere with the best bullpen in the game ready to go. If they can win game 6, I don't see any way game 7 gets away. Can't wait!!
  11. Here's my weigh in on Clutchness: It would be really clutch if the Brewers win tonight however you'd like to or not like to measure it.
  12. My thoughts exactly. These team is really talented and most players are under team control, but there is no guarantee we will see this again for a long time. Win or lose, you have to take a step back and realize how special this run/team/season really is. Yep, it seems cliche but every pitch means something and every AB could alter the course of the series. It's super intense and fun to be a fan of. It was ridiculous the spots that were being hit and the pitches being made by both sides last night.
  13. I think we're probably in for some changes with how pitching is viewed. However, teams have stacked their bullpens before without great success. I think it's important to remember, the Brewers are doing this to the extreme and under extreme circumstances. These guys are also pitching on some adrenaline. The way the Brewers are utilizing guys right now, over the last month or so, isn't sustainable over the course of a full season. Throwing a ball at max effort even for an inning takes it's tole. I don't think we're going to see an end to the true ace types. The guys that throw even 180 innings will become more rare but the ace types that can give you a quality 200 innings, throwing every 4-5 days will still be in high demand. I could definitely see teams start to chop off their number 5 starters in favor of "bullpenning" games though.
  14. I feel really good about this game. I think the Brewers put up some crooked numbers tonight. I guess I'll weigh in on Jeffress since it seems to be a large topic of discussion. I didn't agree with using him in the 9th last night. It worked and the Brewers will need him to be who he's been this year for their formula to work. When I watch him throw, I don't think he's throwing poorly. He's making pretty good pitches and he's got his normal velocity and movement. The Dodgers just have been pretty decent about dropping the head of their bats and squaring some pitches up when he's working low in the zone and working the count against him.
  15. I'm feeling oddly confident about this game. For every reason there is to put doubt in our minds about the Brewers chances there's a reason to give the Brewers the edge. There's a lot of talent on the field with these two clubs; both teams are fighting for every AB. It's super entertaining.
  16. While talent usually trumps experience, I think if the Brewers can have some good ABs early and maybe tack on a couple runs in the first couple innings maybe they can rattle him a bit.
  17. Indeed. It was great until it wasn't. I've done pretty well to detach real life from games over the years... but man I was upset after that one.
  18. Man that sucks. Would've been easier to take had they not had a 3-0 lead. Gotta play the game on Monday like it's an elimination game, Imo
  19. This makes a lot of sense to me. It will be interesting to see how they line it up. I wonder if they'll be willing to pitch the starters on short rest. Especially if they're going to pull the starters after 2x through the order even if they're cruising. Then it might make sense to pitch whoever you want to possibly go 3x in game 1. That might actually be Miley- he's had two good starts vs LA this year and they hit righties better than lefties IIRC. I think that lineup makes sense. I guess reality is they're all bullpen games regardless of starter. That's become the identity of this staff. However, at some point, i think they're going to need a starter to get through 5-6 innings a couple times.
  20. I read somewhere that if a team has success when you are about 10 years old you'll stick with them through thick and thin. I have no idea if that's actually true but if it is then the success in 2008 might be revealed in a larger "base" of fans now. That's probably true for me. I decided to devote myself as a Brewer baseball fan at age 10, in 1987. Couldn't have picked a better year to become a fan.
  21. The state has really always supported a winner. The addition of Miller Park has obviously helped take weather out of the equation to go enjoy a game. Mark A, has been phenomenal for this franchise sticking money back into the park, it's amenities, and the payroll. Yes, some of the younger fan base has gotten to see some moderate success and an entertaining team and players, and that's important. Being in Green Bay, football still dominates conversation and talk radio but I've noticed more Brewer attire around the last few years, and obviously now.
  22. I'm not sure I'd change what's working. Can anybody see them leaving the roster as is? I guess maybe I could see adding a pitcher and dropping Santana.
