  1. Vaughn or Sheets would be a replacement for Bauers. For Robert he would be the primary DH or fill in at LF for Yelich whenever needed. But I think the prospect cost will be more than what the Brewers will be willing to pay. I would only trade Hoskins for a salary dump. I wouldn’t include a prospect going back. Hoskins doesn’t really make much sense for the Mariners anyways.
  2. Not sure what they will be able to do in FA as they have Candelario who is dead weight at this point at $15mm per year for the next two years. They would have to eat nearly all of that contract get rid of Candelario. There is not much that they could do in FA that will be an improvement other than signing Soto but that is not happening.
  3. I was thinking maybe trade with the Mariners but there really isn't anyone to trade for there who would be a reasonable trade target. Woo and Rodriguez would take a Chourio like package to get them. The White Sox will have Gavin Sheets (Arb1) and Andrew Vaughn (Arb2) heading into arbitration in 2025. Vaughn should be around $5mm in arb2 and Sheets about $2-3mm in Arb1. I don't think either would take much to get the White Sox to trade them. The other option with the White Sox is to trade for Robert and have him as the DH or LF. The White Sox are going to want a ton for Robert so I don't think that is a possibility for the Brewers. I don't believe money is the problem for the Brewers it is giving up the prospects to get players that will be the problem.
  4. I am not sure a different manager is going to do all that much for the Reds. EDLC is not a SS IMHO and should be moved to the OF. India is not an IF and should be moved to the OF. India being a poor defensive IF is the reason why the Reds have been having a hard time finding a trade partner as the other teams see India as an OF/DH type which brings his value down and the Reds want the trade value as though he is a IF. To be honest they probably need to get rid of their GM or move on from some of their players like India and get what they can in return. They need an OF badly. They could have fixed that this year by moving EDLC to the OF. EDLC would be better defensively in CF or RF than he is at SS.
  5. At the low end Mitchell is Brandon Nimmo and on the high end he is Grady Sizemore for potential. I am not sure he ever gets to his full potential so a little bit better than Nimmo is probably where Mitchell ends up.
  6. Not really. He looked the same as he was in Chicago. He is still not all that accurate as a passer and once he starts seeing more pressure he will make the same mistakes he has made his whole career so far.
  7. A theory and not a serious one but they are opening up a spot for Woodruff to pitch in the playoffs!!!!!!!!
  8. MLB is never going back to the 3 division and 1 WC format. It is just not happening. If anything they will add more playoff spots which is the plan once the league expands.
  9. Braves and the Padres are the two teams that I wouldn't want to face right now. The Braves are looking like they are getting healthy again. I don't really want to see that team in the playoffs. The Padres are just as good as the Phillies and the Dodgers and in some ways better than them and a far worse match up for the Brewers. I would rather play the Phillies or Dodgers than the Padres.
  10. Fun fact Matt Arnold was interviewed for the GM spot in 2015. He also interviewed for the Marlins and Braves that same year for front office positions. Also I believe it came down to Bloom or Stearns that year. Bloom is now with the Cardinals and could be their next GM. The Brewers definitely chose correctly on this one.
  11. I have been enjoying watching Pirate Software. He is really smart and down to earth when talking about video games. Also adding Preston Stewart as he explains military actions far better than most of the talking heads on CNN, FOX News, MSNBC, ABC and CBS. He explains a lot and isn't really selling any kind of politics with his videos. By far the best on reporting on the recent wars in Ukraine and Gaza. https://www.youtube.com/@PrestonStewart
  12. This feels more like being a fan of the Braves though the Braves in the 90's were able to win one WS. Then they win one more in 2021. Completely different teams but this run the Brewers have been on feels like the Braves in the 90's. It is the closest thing that I can think of the only other team I can think of would be the Blue Jays also in the 90's. Maybe we can go out and sign a Molitor type in the off season like the Blue Jays in '93.
  13. Growing up in the 90’s and watching some really god awful teams play and the last 6-years has been well worth it. Even if the Brewers never win a WS during this run I will be happy as long as they keep on winning. I never want to go back to the ‘93-2004 teams ever again.
  14. I could have sworn the Cardinals were supposed to overtake the Brewers by the end of July or was it the Cubs by the end of August or was it supposed to be now for the Cubs? The Cubs having an easier schedule were not supposed to lose these games and would be in first place now!
  15. Draft eligibility would be my guess.
  16. If you went back in time to the 1990's and you said there was going to be a DH who will hit 50 HR's and 50 SB's you would have been laughed at and ridiculed even if you go back to the early 2000's this would have been unthinkable. There is no way that Mo Vaughn, Cecil Fielder, David Ortiz or Frank Thomas would steal 50 and hit 50 HR's. But in 2024 Ohtani is about to reach that being only 2 SB's and 2 HR's away from a 50-50 season.
  17. I think a Model 3 depending on the year may only have 1-year or less on its battery warranty. So depending on the battery that is a $13k-$28k expense to replace the batteries. Probably be better off to just get a used model y as the battery warranty would still be good.
  18. There is a rumor out there that the NFL and the top execs of the power conferences are looking at creating a super league. It would be similar to European soccer where teams can get demoted. This would basically be the end of D1 college football. The top 60 teams would be playoff eligible for a 16 team playoff. If you finish below the top 60 you are demoted. This is about as far as they have gotten and it is just in preliminary talks right now. The players would become employees and not student athletes.
  19. Ford and Toyota will be shipping less EV’s to dealerships well because the EV buyers don’t go to dealerships. Expect to see less supply of Ford and Toyota EV’s at the dealerships. Ford has sold more EV’s on their website versus what has been sold at the dealerships. Ford actually ran out of stock on their website and the customers still didn’t buy from their local dealerships. Ford is currently looking to reduce their EV offerings to dealerships and will sell the majority of their EV’s on a direct to consumer model similar to Tesla. GM will also discontinue manufacturing the Chevy Bolt. The lower cost EV’s are dying fast as buyers for the lower end EV’s are just not buying them. For every Bolt that GM sells they lose about $9000 which makes sense as the Bolt is super basic and lacking features that are at that price range for other ICE vehicles.
  20. By swinging at pitches way outside the strike zone? I will have to remember to quote this when everyone is whining about Adames swinging at a pitch out of the zone.
  21. I think Wilken is a lock because of the injury. I believe the Brewers will want him to get more at bats. The at bats being what they want him to get and results won’t matter. He missed a good amount of time this year. So the at bats mean more than the results.
  22. I didn’t see a thread yet for this but then again I didn’t look all that hard. I am not sure on the pitchers who will make it but I think Wilken and Pratt are locks on the positional side. Beyond Pratt and Wilken I am not all that confident in predicting anyone else. This feels like a weird year as it was rather easy the last few years to list out 10+ who I thought would be locks for a spot.
  23. Adames is having a good season and will get paid this off season. There were some posters who thought the Brewers wouldn’t offer Adames the QO and it would be too risky to do so.
  24. Brewers just out scored the Badgers today.
  25. Usually it is best to swing at the first pitch against a pitcher that is struggling. That first pitch is more than likely is going to be a get me over pitch that will be in the heart of the plate. Better to be aggressive there than sit back and make the pitcher throw a strike.
