    Per the rumors it was the Dodgers, Rays and Brewers who submitted offers. The Rays offer I haven’t seen anything. One of my contacts also said the Braves had an offer out but no names that they can release.

    Hoskins should have been on the NLCS roster over Yelich. Not that would have helped anything.

    They sent him to the wrong minor league affiliation. They need to fix his delivery and work on getting it consistent. He should have gone down to the AZ complex to work on that in the pitching lab. I understand they want to keep building his innings but his mechanics have been out of sync for a while now. That needs to be fixed first IMO.

    I would like to see Lara in the lead off spot. His approach is near perfect for that spot.

    According to McCalvy the Brewers offered a hitter heavy offer for Skubal but the Tigers turned it down. Pena was in this offer. The other two pieces are not known but speculation is that Adamczewski would have also been included. McCalvy also stated the third may have been in or just outside of the top 100 so I am going to assume that was Frias or Ragsdale. I think the Tigers messed up here and took the wrong offer. Yes pitching is nice but I don’t understand how you can reject the Brewers offer if it was Pena, Adamczewski and Frias/Ragsdale.     How did he get screwed by the Brewers? Did the Brewers tell Peralta to just completely suck in his FA year when they traded him?

    Why would he need to make up for the Peralta trade?

    I don't think that is all relevant during the trade deadline. I think that no trade list was for if he were traded in the off season. He is a FA after this season so I don't believe that he would have invoked the NTC.

    That was more for an off season trade than anything else. I don’t see him invoking the NTC when he will be a FA this offseason.

    Do you recognize more than 3 from this list? Sometimes good pitchers give up home runs against the worst or unexpected HR hitters. This is against Randy Johnson. Though his top 5 are more recognizable.

    That doesn't get the deal done for the Tigers and while the equivalent prospects are close or better than the Dodgers offer it doesn't mean it would have been valued higher by the Tigers. The Tigers wanted a top 25 prospect and they got that with Hope and a near or MLB ready starting pitcher which they received in Ryan. The third piece is just a throw in at that point. While Adamczewski would be the equivalent of Hope talent wise he is ranked outside of the top 25. Payne isn't ranked at all and the same for Burke. The Brewers didn't have the River Ryan piece and they would have had to deal from their MLB roster to fulfill that portion of the trade. A more equivalent trade would have been something like Henderson, Pena and Coleman Crow or someone similar. That would have beat the Dodgers offer significantly and would fall under the overpay. Having to include someone like Henderson would have been a non starter for the Brewers and I don't see a prospect they could have switched Henderson out for that the Tigers would have been interested in. The prospect would have needed to be MLB ready or near MLB ready. The Brewers don't have that pitching prospect. You can't just say oh this is the equivalent and they should have done that. You are forgetting the part where the Tigers also have to accept it. For all we know Adamczewski, Payne and Burke was the Brewers offer and the Tigers said no we don't like that deal and went with the Dodgers deal instead. It takes two to tango.

    Miller is going no where the Padres are back in the playoff hunt for the final WC spot in the NL as they are only 1 game behind the Phillies for the last spot. I don’t see the Padres selling anything as they could be tied with the Phillies by Monday or still just one or two games back.

    With Skubal gone I think that leaves Detmers, Holmes or Gausman as possible fits for the Brewers. There are others but I think these are the top 3 for the Brewers right now. If it only costs Wilken and some international bonus pool money or a DSL lottery ticket for Holmes sure do that trade but I think the Mets will be looking for something more. Detmers will probably cost the most but I think the Brewers could get him for something like Adams, Coleman Crow and a DSL lottery ticket. Gausman is harder to gauge on if he will be available or not. The Blue Jays are not really out of it for a final AL Wild Card spot but they aren't really in it either. I think a similar package as what the Angels will be looking to get for Detmers will be close to what the Brewers will have to pay for him. The trade market should pickup now that Skubal is gone. If I could get the Reds to part with Greene I would send over Pena in the deal but the supporting pieces would be less. The Mariners would make a good trading partner but I think they are looking for someone who could help them next year or this year so I don't think there is a fit there. Pena for one of their starters would work the best but I'm not sure the Mariners would be interested in that. Maybe this is where you could convince someone to take on Frelick something like Frelick, Adams and Crow for Kirby. I'm not sure if that is too much or not enough. I guess it depends on your valuation of Frelick and Adams and also of Kirby.

    Heck no. That would have been a dumb trade. If Skubal had one or two more years remaining sure give up someone like Pena. But not for a rental.

    If it were just Jett, Sproat and Quero/Adams sure but that wouldn't have beat the Dodgers offer. Even the equivalent that I posted probably doesn't get close to the value the Dodgers gave up.

    Was the kids name Keith? In high school I played in a rec league and the dude would do the same thing constantly and the ball would either be a complete air ball or go over the hoop. Every time.

    Equivalent from the Brewers would probably be Adamczewski/Fischer, Hardin and Burke. Yikes that is a lot of prospect capital to give up for about 10-15 starts of Skubal.

    They missed out on a really good Rays package for Ohtani.

    Ummm what? No way Naylor or Perkins have that much value. Also Yoho and Heuer also have too much. I would put this more as a neutral trade as Perkins and Naylor should have about equal value. Heuer probably having a little less value than Yoho.
