  1. With storms coming in late tonight, we're gonna see 20+ mph winds at gametime. Should be a fun one.
  2. With the whole gambling thing, I see it as he never bet against his own team. Nor did he put his team in a position to lose games in order to win bets. I agree that gambling was an idiot move on his part and it cost him. BUT, I do not think his gambling affected the way he played the game.
  3. For the love of God, please don't let it be Parra. I would really like to see Peralta get the opportunity to start a few games. I know he hasn't been at his best lately and his walk rate is unaaceptable, but he does have a decent K/9.
  4. Most have paid for their shirts now, and thank you all. I think the shirts look great and we look like a team now lol. A couple people that still owe me: Beeks - $23 AL - $23 Nullbyte - $3 RightFieldCoder - $3
  5. Yea it sucks that teams like EA Sports bring in 2-3 power league guys into a social league. I like tough competition but its rough when probably all of us haven't played since last year and some of their guys play 3-4 nights a week. We'll be fine as long as we limit mistakes.
  6. I'm in. Jerseys should be ready for our first game tomorrow. My printer is cutting it close but is working on them to be completed tomorrow. For those that ordered, please bring $23 for the shirts along with your league player's fee.
  7. Brewerfan.net shirts will be $23. I counted 10 guys, besides me, that committed to getting a shirt. They will be ready by first game. I'll be there early on Thursday.
  8. If it does rain, we should try Hegan's or another batting cage to get some kind of work in.
  9. I agree, if you want to get cheap tickets go to stubhub or craigslist. I bought them through the cubs because it's the most reliable way of getting 12 hard tickets. Bought them on the 11th and got them on the 16th. I really want to fill up those left field bleachers with as many brewer fans as possible on August 30th. If we can get like 25-30 people to committ, we could get a bus to take us all down there.
  10. here is the schedule, found on milwaukee rec website. http://www.milwaukeerecreation.net/adult-sports/softball/schedules/mens/MS-385.pdf
  11. I'll set a deadline of this Friday (April 20th) to post your size and number. So far I have 8 confirmed, still waiting on Valpo (just sent him a text), Schubert, guys I don't know but said were playing from the '2012 season' topic (Stella? Jon Kevin?) I am ordering a total of 16 shirts. Unfortunately the price goes from $21.50 to $23 because I didn't reach the price break quantity of 24.
  12. I decided to take a small group of friends (one is a Cubs fan) down to Chi-town for a Brewers vs. Cubs matinee on Thursday, August 30th. We plan to sit in the left bleachers, which means we're thinking of leaving Milwaukee around 6-7am. I bought 12 tickets and so far 8 are accounted for in my group but still waiting on a couple more confirmations. This got me thinking a little more and of course this would be the perfect place to organize something. Anyone interested in joining us? 1:20pm first pitch, have to get there when the gates open since the bleachers are a 'first-come, first-serve.' Bleacher tickets are $38 plus $12 convenience fees.
  13. Agreed. Take it slowly to begin your training and properly stretch before each time you run. And agree with Jimbo, find a 5K close to you and start from there. It will give you good feel of running in a crowd and how you can pace yourself. There are good tools out there (great info on runnersworld.com and their forums).
  14. http://www.race-brewers.com/ http://localtvwiti.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/2012-mini-marathon-course-map-final-lowres1.jpg?w=400 Never made it to any of their 5K events, but this course alone looks to be very enjoyable. Starts in the Miller Park parking lot, then up past Saz's, through the Miller Valley, past the Michell Park Domes, Harley Davidson Museum, and Potawatomi. The finish takes you through Miller Park onto the warning track and back to the parking lot. The group that runs the Madison Mini is in charge of this one, and they put on great events. Proceeds go to the MACC Fund. Price goes up after April 30th, but for $65 I'm sold.
  15. Well, it's been a month since the last comment. So far there is 7 of us that are making the decision. Don't know if any others see this or read the threads but I would still like to do jerseys. I guess I'm not getting 30 like I want, more like 12-15. I want to order these next week so everyone is ok with the gold t-shirt (not the button)? Everyone who wants their size and number, please let me know. So far I have: Nick - XL #22 Houlie - L #8 Radman - 2XL #10 Nullbyte - L #26 RightFieldCoder - XL #14 Beeks - M #2 Al - L #6 Dnye - M #23 Valpo - M #13 Schubert - M #12 Aaron - L #9
  16. I can make it. I might have 1 or 2 reserve guys that would come too.
  17. I also like the gold two-button. I've updated the pictures of each shirt with the logo. And since I can't create a poll, I'll just take a tally of everyone's comments up until mid-April.
  18. I talked with a couple mods in order to get the logo for screen printing. I don't see why anyone would have a problem with it. In order to keep the cost down, the logo is going to be about 3.5" on the right chest. It will be clearly readable, though I'd rather have it across the chest. I want to place this order no later than mid-April, so that should give us time to make a decision on the style of shirt. I'll make a poll shortly. Then, everyone can tell me their size and number. Looks like we cant make polls in this forum, so I'll just keep a tally of everyone's comments. We will keep this going until mid-April.
  19. I'm thinking navy or gold in either of these 2 styles that I mentioned: Augusta Sportswear 50/50 Two-Button Baseball Jersey http://reliablembroidery.com/Brewerfan/Augusta_gold.jpghttp://reliablembroidery.com/Brewerfan/Augusta_navy.jpg Champion 6.1 oz. 20. We need some uniforms. It seems like every team we play does except us. I know a couple guys have the old ones but I think we need something with the newer logo. I work with a screen printer and I'm going to submit an order for shirts/jerseys with the brewerfan.net logo on the front and numbers on the back. I've narrowed it down to 2 styles for shirts. One is a two-button henley style baseball shirt, with logo and numbers is $30. The other is a heavier 100% cotton t-shirt made by Champion, with logo and numbers is $21.50. I know cost is an issue with most, but I'm figuring to pay the total bill for about 30 shirts. Whomever wants one with their custom number on the back can just pay me back for their shirt. One of the mods wanted one and others might as well. Any of the extra shirts I will have can be for subs each week so we all look like part of this team. Everyone that is playing this coming year, I would really like your input. I mean, I won't get shirts if no one intends to buy them. Hopefully we can agree to do it. Jersey color voting as of 3/13/12 Navy - 2 Gold - 5
  21. This is Drick23, changed my name a little. Sorry I've been MIA. I'm 100% in.
  22. I'm in. We need to break out of our funk. We haven't been right since we blew that game against EA Sports. With Bay Street still winless, it's time to break this funk right now.
