At least Maddon knows what he has in Sonnanstine when they go to Miami next weekend....
  2. azcheesehead
That is nuts. I can't believe Joe Maddon let that happen!
  3. azcheesehead
How dare an umpire call Pujols out on a swinging 3rd strike. Baseball Jesus should get 4 strikes!

I can't wait til a Brewer goes yard today and does this..... http://images.yuku.com/image/pjpeg/45e36f911bfef1bd004f1dba8846cdb7ea8eec45.pjpg

Have fun, but don't go trolling, that wouldn't be respectful!!!

Did anyone notice if Rickie was in the on deck circle?

I am guessing that Cards fans are going nuts in the forum on STLtoday.com. Some pretty comical stuff on there yesterday. They make some of the js commenters sound rational and sane.

I think I should place some bets today!

How does 4 runs in the first sound?

They need to cash in here to set the tone for the game!!!

I am willing to bet he gets his start tomorrow.

I agree with most of the sentiment on this board. I live in Phoenix, hence the name and go to quite a bit of games at Chase Field. For the record, I have over 30 baseballs this year, mainly from BP, but do have 7 game balls and have collected them ALL wearing a Brewers cap and a Braun T Shirt jersey. Who's a true fan, Happy?

It is when you can get on a base. A simple feet first slide to the left and he would've easily made it on.

There are an abundance from trusted sellers on ebay, fwiw. I got one for about $25 I believe.

This doesn't surprise me one bit. He's a TERRIBLE game manager. I have been to at least 7 Dbacks games this year. (Hey, come on, I am stuck in AZ and have tix to all THREE Brewers games down here in Sept.) Anyways, on more than one occasion this year he has emptied his ENTIRE bench before the 9th inning leaving RPs to hit in key situations. And if you think Yost was bad with his bullpen? I invite you to think back to last week when he left Scot Schoenweis in against Mike Cameron who promptly put a ball over the LF fence. This was a long time coming, trust me.

Because their numbers were huge with them and they can't afford for their sake or the teams to let them decline. *edit* Plus, Manny as an example, they make MILLIONS based off those numbers!

Pujols is next. I've been saying it for a couple of years. He's the last "monster" left. Manny doesn't surprise me one bit.

If anyone has an extra, I would take one too. I am stuck in AZ. I do have an extra Dan Haren SGA from last year if someone wanted to trade that straight up. It's a nice bobblehead. Also have Upton, Byrnes, Young.....if anyone is interested let me know.

Witrado is ridiculous. Not only the RBI, but no mention of defense at all. I would take either one of them in a HEARTBEAT over Weeks. Especially a 3x gold glove winner like Orlando Hudson. Not only is O a good player, but he is a pretty good clubhouse guy and he was very "Cameronesque" in the sense that he was always smiling and making everyone around him smile as well while with the Dbacks.

I totally agree with you on this. However, when you watch him pitch it looks like something more in my opinion. I really hope I am wrong. I like Villy and want him to do well. But I don't think Macha is wrong here and I think he's trying to press some buttons and light a fire under his butt. All good coaches do it. Villy is a pro and he should be able to handle it.
  23. azcheesehead
I have no problem with him calling anyone out. It isn't like he's calling out someone who doesn't deserve it. I think he would be justified if he did call out Cameron. However, if we wanted to use your verteran status, we could say that Cameron is relied on heavily for his defense and his locker room presence. Not as much at the plate.

LF seats are DEFINITELY the way to go. Every seat is angled towards the middle of the field for football purposes. However, in left field and on the first base side, they are facing each other because those are the endzones. I have sat all over that stupid stink hole in my 25 year life span and LF is the only spot where you can sit comfortably. Plus you will find a lot more Brewer Backers in the "Home Run Porch".

If you've seen Villy live in a game at spring training, you would know that the comments are deserved. I don't care if you're Sandy Koufax. The stuff he is throwing over the plate right now could be hit by a good high schooler. He's up in the zone, not as consistent with changing speeds and looks pretty straight to me. That isn't a good combo!!!
