Arrived in Phoenix last night, first game is today. It just stopped raining recently, and it probably won't get about 60 today.....but we should see some baseball! I'm hoping the giveaway bananza that was scheduled for yesterday ends up being tomorrow.
Turborickey - I've got an extra Doug Melvin and Jason Kendall (I'm sure you're clamoring for those). Have the Ozzie Smith from the Cardinals last year. Other than that, I don't have any extras. I'm not a huge collector, just like to display the Brewers stuff on my desk at work.
I wonder if they'll do one of these every year that the T-rats are a Brewers affiliate. Wish I would have kept mine last year - gave it to a co-worker who begged for it.
I'd love to see the Brewers crack down on the kids going through the parking lots (usually Giants) raising money for a "basketball tournament" or whatever their story is that day. If a dad and his kid come buy and sell me a candy bar for little league, that's fine. But the unsupervised kids with the crumpled up "donation record sheet" are scammers and they get a few people each time they come through.
Scottsdale will sell out in advance on the weekends (even the lawn). Check out www.springtrainingonline.com for info on where the best shaded seats are. If you want seats in the shade at any park, I always recommend buying in advance, b/c those sell out first to the freaks like me that can't handle the sun.
Our neighbors. We call them vampires b/c they stay up till 2AM - 5AM every night and don't get up till noon. Meanwhile, we have day jobs and nighttime commitments and would love to sleep during this time. They have a 3-year lease. Guess who's moving again in 3 months?
They were $13 for season seat holders. I believe they're sold out, b/c my partial season seat holder form requested the $13 pass and got the $8 general parking.
I guess I should have qualified that - my 70-year-old father will be in the seats, and I'm not sure he'll be excited about climbing the stairs. Last year I had 416 row 17, I think, so I suppose this is better.
I got my opening day tickets in the mail today. Looks like there weren't any good seats available in the terrace for season ticket holders. Best they could do was 421, row 20. The partial season ticket form got me 435, row 10.
ah, i need to correct myself. Totally forgot I had access to mlb radio last year, and that's probably how we heard half the games. I wonder if the MLB iPhone app will stream the audio of the spring training games....
