    The 2006 ROY and possibly the best player in all of baseball just signed a 6/70 deal and we got the 2007 ROY and a guy that has had one of the most historic beginnings of a career ever at 8/45 maybe 51. Sign me up all day, this is great I thought the Rays got a solid on Kazmir but this is unreal 2 years of FA. Braun must really like getting down in Lake Geneva or maybe Jenks taught him a thing or two last year about hanging out on Water. Either way great move by the club, kudos to all involved and much thanks to a talented slugger who was not a part of the initial youth movement to buy into the team and community mantra. Braun may have been groomed by Arod but this signing shows us otherwise. Obviously the guaranteed money is a positive but I would argue that Prince is in more need of the cash than Braun and he still won't look at a long term deal.

    Not that I disagree with this trade at all, Melvin always finds nuggets that seem to work out ala the moustached one Villanueva but for those that say "hey we got a 2nd rounder" for Gross I would like to point out that he was the 15th pick of the 2001 draft so we actually traded a 1st rounder for a 2nd rounder. Obviously there is slotting and monetary concerns in the MLB draft but Gross was thought to be at least an average everyday MLB player otherwise there is no way you are a first rounder. He wouldn't have gone that high if the Blue Jays weren't being cheap on the draft but he is a very athletic player and will be missed with a cannon for an arm . You cannot have enough stand up guys on a team. I have no clue about about Butler as a player but it never hurts to have more arms, we might be 15-16 on the big club this weekend the way the pen is getting worn out this week having to play 13 straight days.

    I think if all we get out of Rickie is what he is now, it is still worth that pick at that time. What; 6 teams passed on Prince but you just never know. Braun was the 3rd 3b taken at the 5 spot in his draft. All of this being said I believe Rickie is going to be the team MVP at the end of the season and I have been saying this for months, no knock of Braun, Prince, or Sheets but when you can get a power guy with speed at the top of the order (dirty word Soriano 4-5 years ago) he can easily be the MVP no matter what is behind him if he hits the .400 OBP 30/30/100 runs scored. Even if he doesn't hit these numbers his value is still there and I find it hard to knock him for injuries that he got for playing the game hard. I feel he can hit those numbers, just an opinion. I also hope his little bro slides to the comp picks in this draft so we can take a stab at him again but I highly doubt it.

    I have 3 game worn jerseys that I am thinking about selling. I was thinking of putting them on EBay but I figured I would post them here first. 1) The full Milwaukee Bears uni from Negro League day in '06 for Sheets (all of these come with authentication). This is the full uni (pants, jersey and hat). 2) Cirillo game worn Cerveceros jersey from 06 3) Sheets game worn Sounds sleeveless jersey from 06 during a rehab start. If anybody has interest in any of these just let me know.
