  1. Ha, jinxed my pick. They went 10 and 11.
  2. I’m hoping for a trade down ... so many good tackles left. Would make sense if they have them rated similarly.
  3. I’d hate to pass on a talent like that, but I’m still worried about the heart condition that may or may not exist. "Sweating" was meant as a double meaning: Anxious to get to draft him; anxious if we do draft him. I guess I'll trust the GB doctors to know better. Ha. Good one. The word play was lost on me. Too nervous.
  4. I’d hate to pass on a talent like that, but I’m still worried about the heart condition that may or may not exist.
  5. I’m just guessing the Packers will go Devin Bush or Jonah Williams at 12.
  6. Both Denver and Cincinnati could go QB.
  7. No trades yet ... a little surprising.
  8. Will the best tackle in the draft fall in the Packers’ lap at 12?
  9. I hate that the Cardinals are using all of their allotted time to make the first pick.
  10. I’m at the doctor’s office. This whole ‘arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment’ thing is a ruse to prevent lazy people from holding up the line.
  11. Knowing that the Packers aren’t expecting any comp picks next year, I wouldn’t be upset if they picked up an extra pick in 2020 by trading down. Only so many guys can make the team. That being said, Rodgers’ window is closing and I wouldn’t trade out of a spot solely for the purpose of acquiring picks. It has to make sense on multiple levels.
  12. If your sister had a history of miscarriages, and a woman walked up to your sister and said, "F--- you and your dead babies" which sparked a fight between the two and then you jumped in and threw some punches in a moment of anger for a statement as infuriating as that....as just an 18 year old kid...believe it or not, I wouldn't hold it against you three years later. Especially not if you were a good, model citizen prior to the incident and have been a model citizen since that time. There are all sorts of stories out there with people vouching for Simmons as a "good character" individual both before and after the incident. The incident itself isn’t necessarily disqualifying, but even with proper context, it’s still a red flag. Add the ACL and the fact he’d basically have to red shirt - it’s a pass for me too.
  13. I've seen both Williams and Taylor to the Packers at #12 in quite a few mocks. I personally would rather wait until #30 and grab Risner, but there's a chance he goes in the 20s. I agree, though, that OL depth is a huge need, even with the Turner signing. Risner is a guy I think can start immediately at G, and kick out to RT in 2020. Agree on Risner being a good option at 30, but I thought Billy Turner was signed to be the starting RG?
  14. I wouldn’t be upset if they go OL at #12, but I’d rather see them do it at #30.
  15. Ha, yeah. Probably.
  16. Indeed. The article failed to mention that fact. Playing the homeless Chargers in London seemed all too perfect, but I guess the attendance-challenged Bolts didn’t want to give up an opportunity to sell out their soccer stadium to 30,000 Packer fans. That being said, as a Brown County resident, I’d trade a home game for the NFL Draft. We’re paying a new 0.5% sales tax to build a convention center across from Lambeau Field. I guess the Packers have been waiting to submit a bid until that project is complete and the Titletown District is further along.
  17. I caught a Yahoo! article today claiming the Packers are receiving preferential treatment from the league because they haven’t had to play a regular season game overseas. Seems like a bit of a stretch considering the Packers would probably love that kind of opportunity to build their brand, they just can’t give up a home game due to the economic impact. If the NFL insists on holding games overseas, the cities that host a Super Bowl, Pro Bowl, or Draft should have to give up a home game. Problem solved. Also, here’s a schedule quirk for you - The Jets will play their entire 2019 regular season in the Eastern Time Zone.
  18. 2014 was probably more fun for fans, but the top seeded teams in both conferences each advanced to their respective Conference Finals. But that’s just me. I recognize the first round isn’t going anywhere and that most fans don’t mind the extra basketball.
  19. But was the 4/5 series in the East even that great? I know the first round isn’t going anywhere. As a casual fan, I’m just lamenting what a futile exercise this appears to be. Edit: Yes, I know Oladipo is out.
  20. Your points are valid (11 champs in 38 years, yikes), but the NBA is also a different animal. The playoff format minimizes upset potential and helps produce a true champion. Yeah, Jordan owned the 90s, but there were many decent teams that were each lead by a franchise / HOF player.
  21. 94-95 Rockets went 47-35 and were a 6 seed and won the NBA finals. 98-99 Knicks were the 8 seed (50 game season) and went to the finals. I guess even if an 8 seed has no chance of going all the way, it can still impact the playoffs a lot by taking out the 1 seed. Then you have a four or five with a lot easier path to the finals. Those are two pretty good counter examples, but I’d argue there is less parity in the league today than there was 20 years ago. I didn’t enjoy the first round when the Bucks were the 8-seed and I’m not finding it much more enjoyable as the top seed.
  22. Well, beyond the Bear comment, we have the opposite opinion. I think Hock's stock has drastically cooled. I think he is a great fit for the Packers, but I'd rather see him in the 18-20 pick range (i.e. trade down). I picked Sweat as I think he is the most likely person to be selected at #12 (I don't think the heart issue is anything big). Oliver is my first choice, but I don't think he will be there. I’ve seen Hockenson going at no. 8 to the Lions in a few recent mocks, but I won’t pretend to understand anything else about his game. Same with Sweat - I have nothing against the guy and I have no specific knowledge of his condition, but all else equal, I’d prefer a player without medical red flags. Enjoy draft week!
  23. I know why the NBA still plays this first round series (money), but this just doesn’t do it for me. I know an 8-seed has upset the 1 before, but realistically, how far can an 8-seed (or even a 5) advance?
  24. I voted for Hockenson, which might be a tad optimistic on my part. I think there’s a good chance he’s gone by then, but that pick seems like a good instance of need meeting value. Honestly, Sweat is the only player on your list I’d avoid (due to his heart issue). Otherwise, I’m just excited to add four good players before the Bears add one.
  25. For some reason, I detest businesses that open on Thanksgiving, but have no problem with stores that are open on Easter. In fact, I just got back from Menards.
