  1. The more I sleep on this draft, the more I like it. It’s obvious they’ve gotten better on both sides of the ball. I’m still bummed about the loss of the two 4th round picks. According to the draft value chart, it would probably take a 5th and a 6th to move into the 4th. Both 6’s might net a 5. The 7th has very little value, but a suppose they could use it to sweeten the pot or move up a few spots.
  2. I’m warming up to this pick ... feels like he could be the super sub on the line this year until he settles in to a permanent role. Love the versatility.
  3. Doubt Smith pairs as a receiver with Rodgers better than Graham who’s had a year to mesh, and he’s not a better blocker than Lewis at this point. Declaring him an instant starter might be a stretch. Jimmy Graham finished 8th in receptions and 9th in yards among TEs last year. He’s started all 16 games for the last 3 years. While no longer elite, he’s still a legitimate starting TE.
  4. I don’t mind the Jenkins pick, but I was hoping they would have traded back to recoup some of the picks they surrendered yesterday to move up for Savage. There were still plenty of guys I liked on the board.
  5. For what it’s worth, Gary is dyslexic and was actually an All Big-Ten Academic Team honoree (twice). I have reservations about the pick, but not about his Wonderlic score.
  6. This isn’t particularly noteworthy, but it looks like Josh Jones changed his jersey no. to 24 (from 27). Still waiting on jerseys numbers for the two rookies. Ted used to get those numbers out fast.
  7. Time to call it a night. I really hope they add an offensive lineman and a pass catcher tomorrow night. They just can’t keep neglecting that side of the ball. Goodnight, Brewer Fan. GPG.
  8. Have to agree 100%, tied for third most sacks given up last year with 53. Yeah, you can say it was because he scrambles, but then why is he scrambling! Having said that, I going to cook some eggs! Care to guess how I'm going to make them! Because he holds onto the ball longer than just about every other QB. He’s been known to do some neat stuff when he hangs on to the ball a long time. Much like Brett, you take the good with the bad.
  9. And Gary was 18th. So we got two top 20 players...on Kipers board. Like I said, it's not the most exciting draft DURING the draft, but we have no idea how these picks will shake out for a couple years. Kudos to you for remaining positive tonight while most of us have been beating ourselves up. I’ll never pretend to have a fraction of the knowledge the real personnel guys do, but I can’t help but be disappointed tonight. History suggests they probably gave up an eventual starter in that pair of fourth round picks.
  10. The defense has been suspect since Nick Collins was injured. I think they would have been better off drafting offense first for the last 8 years, trying to score on every possession, and just praying for one stop or a turnover. I’m only half joking.
  11. Immediate draft grades are the most useless thing maybe ever. Most people know that. They just appreciate succinct commentary.
  12. Lions: B - solid player, slight reach? Vikings: B - unsexy, but addresses a big need Bears: Incomplete - MIT says the Raiders won the trade Packers: you nailed it
  13. I know they’ve been the Tennessee Titans for 20 years, but I still think the name is silly.
  14. Who are you talking about? Clay Matthews? I hope not. Matthews was listed on USCs roster at 230 pounds as a senior and was 240 at the combine. One Nicholas Perry Former 2nd round pick Mike Neal also comes to mind, though the conversion didn’t happen until he proved disappointing at DE.
  15. Packers saying he will start his career in the OLB room. I would be more confident if they said he was an OLB. That statement seems to imply they’re not 100% sure where he fits.
  16. Yeah, that feels about right given how this night has gone thus far.
  17. If we’re going on the record, I would have taken Jawaan Taylor.
  18. On the bright side, the Packers will probably go into the season with Kyler Fackrell as their 4th best pass rusher instead of their top pass rusher.
  19. Fixed that for you... Gary seemed to be going in the 7-10 range last week in some mocks, so from that perspective maybe I shouldn’t be that disappointed.
  20. Thank you for trying to cheer me up.
  21. That was my feeling too, but you never know what kind of options were there.
  22. Gary is in a whole different stratosphere athletically compared to Jones. True, but I just don’t get drafting guys without an obvious pro position this high in the draft. There’s too much at stake.
  23. Kevin King was coming off an injury too ...
  24. I don’t like it. Damaged goods. No real position (like Datone Jones). I won’t pretend to know more than Gutekunst and Co., but this one has me puzzled.
  25. ABC goes to commercial with the Packers on the clock. Been watching Robin Roberts and Taylor Swift all night. FML.
