  1. The first comment in the 2020-2021 season thread (now locked) is about the Bucks losing their opener due to Giannis missing free throws. How cool is it that they clinched the title with Giannis going 16 of 18 from the line?
  2. Mayim Bialik will be hosting the syndicated program for the next 3 weeks while the search for a new permanent host continues. I guess her schedule would not permit her to be the permanent host, but I think she’d be a good candidate: a generally likable TV personality with a PhD in neuroscience.
  3. CB Ka’Dar Hollman traded to Houston: https://www.yahoo.com/sports/packers-trading-cb-ka-dar-202556088.html (compensation unknown at time of post) Edit: Demovsky says it’s a 7th rounder (unconditional)
  4. I haven’t followed training cap closely, but Kylin Hill appears to be a lock for the #3 RB spot, right? Hard to believe the best running back in the SEC fell to the 7th round.
  5. Mike Richards is out after 9 days. Did Sony even vet the guy? https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/mike-richards-steps-down-jeopardy-host-145537601.html
  6. There aren’t a lot of great throwbacks to choose from considering they’ve used the same home / away combo for 60 years.
  7. 2021 Throwback Uniforms: https://www.yahoo.com/sports/packers-alternate-uniforms-2021-season-130754106.html I don’t hate them.
  8. I’m with you. There are a lot of great moments from the championship run, but 50 points to close it out? That performance will always stick with me.
  9. I think the Christmas Day game actually overlaps with a Packer game. The Bucks play at 1:30 and the Packers play at 3:30.
  10. The article only listed 3 games when I posted it. That’s good news, though. Hoping for a lot of ABC games when the schedule comes out (fingers crossed).
  11. No Christmas Day game for the Bucks: https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/2021-22-nba-schedule-release-lebron-james-vs-stephen-curry-on-opening-night-lakers-nets-on-christmas-day/
  12. Love is questionable for next Saturday’s pre-season game.
  13. No, probably not. I doubt my son and his friends understand the significance of winning the NBA Finals. They were just happy to see them win a trophy and have a parade. But they all own Bucks t-shirts and argue over who gets to be Giannis at recess. I don’t think there has ever been a group of kids in Green Bay who love the Bucks as much as this current generation. When I was his age, it was all Packers. The Bucks and Brewers were never on TV, so I rooted for the Braves and the Jazz in the 90s. I didn’t really take an interest in Milwaukee pro sports until college when I listened to the games on AM radio while studying in the evening.
  14. My almost 5-year-old son really digs the Bucks. He’s now signed up for a YMCA basketball ‘fundamentals’ class and wants a Bobby Portis jersey (complete with head band) for his birthday. I’m not a huge Bucks fan, but I’m inclined to indulge him because: 1) It’s been fun bonding over sports and 2) I see this as infinitely better than him growing up as some bandwagon LeBron fan. This got me thinking, kids born after February 6, 2011 have not experienced a Packers’ Super Bowl win, but have now seen the Bucks win the NBA Finals. Will that have a significant impact on the Wisconsin sports landscape?
  15. I’ve been with the same company for 10 years and only interviewed outside the company once during that time. The homework assignment caught me by surprise. I actually declined the second interview.
  16. Thanasis is back: https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/263848/Bucks-Re-sign-Thanasis-Antetokounmpo-For-Two-Years
  17. Kudos to Tokyo for making the best of a really crummy situation.
  18. I agree. Anyone with realistic expectations should be content. Despite major cap constraints, the defending champs brought back 7 of their top 8 players, including their Big 3. They’ll also have opportunities to address needs later via trade or buy out like they have in the past with PJ Tucker, Marvin Williams, and Pau Gasol. But how can the Lakers just keep signing guys? That’s also me.
  19. Two weeks feels about right. Any longer and it ceases to be a novelty.
  20. True, she earned individual medals in five different Games. I think the more impressive thing is she did it across 100 to 400, which few can do. But her detractors will say six of her gold medals came on relays and only five individuals (1 G, 3 S, 1 B) I think a performance like Carl Lewis’ in the 1984 games is more impressive (4 gold medals in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m, and the long jump), but that doesn’t detract from my respect for Felix.

  22. I’m really happy for them (and glad they stayed healthy). Give a lot of credit to Durant. He showed up and carried this team when a lot of other big names stayed home.
  23. I watched the last 20 minutes of her race that was included with the prime time coverage and was surprised by how many times the announcers mentioned Wisconsin. It was as if they couldn’t believe a good athlete could come from Wisconsin.
  24. There will almost always be a PJ Tucker-caliber player available at the trade deadline or through mid-season buy outs. It’s safe to assume the Bucks will have opportunities to improve their roster as the season progresses.
  25. That's what happens when you don't practice with the same four guys. You’d think they’d learn after struggling in this event for years. I remember watching the Rio coverage and listening to the broadcasters call out the lack of exchanges practices.
