  1. I’ve been posting here a lot lately, which is probably a sign that Nodakfan needs to relax more: 1) You can buy alcohol in my Wisconsin town at 6:00 am, but for some reason, Pick n Save won’t sell alcohol until 8:00 am. Do they hate money? 2) A campaigner knocked on my door without a mask. One of my neighbors has MS and another neighbor has diabetes and a pacemaker. I worry about them answering their doors for unnecessary things.
  2. [sarcasm]How dare you? This is a highly successful NFL coach[/sarcasm].
  3. I see Monday’s game was pushed back to 7:50 pm to accommodate a possible double-header. That’s a bad break for all the early risers out there.
  4. I believe you’re correct, but these rules are for 2020 only.
  5. What do you do this week if you have Pat Mahomes? There’s still a chance this week’s postponed game gets cancelled.
  6. I’ve got soccer on my mind because I just finished the first season of Ted Lasso on Apple TV, but the Jets are the reason the NFL should consider relegation. Otherwise, there’s no punishment for teams being badly mismanaged. They still make loads of cash. Oh, you drafted a quarterback #3 overall and that didn’t work out? Here’s the #1 overall pick. I’m only half joking.
  7. I’m not reading much into it ... due diligence in case COVID strikes the team. They’re probably maintaining a short list at every position. It’s just odd to see kickers come through the Hudson Center, given how reliable Crosby has been.
  8. A week ago, I was pretty optimistic about the NFL season being played to completion. Now, I think it’s 50/50.
  9. The injury list is scary. I’m nervous about Monday. Out: Kirksey, Lazard (no surprises there) Doubtful: Lewis Questionable: Adams, Alexander, Clark, Deguara, Ervin, Gary, Linsley, Scott (yes, the punter), and Z. Smith
  10. Thank you. I enjoyed that read. I collected football cards as a kid in the 90s and recently trimmed down my multi-binder collection to a single shoe box full of ‘keepers.’ If my young son is nuts about the Packers the was I was when I was 11-years-old, it might be fun to try building a low-end set together every year. I’m really leary of the high-end stuff though.
  11. One of my first jobs was working at a call center for a large bank. I talked to about 50 people per day. 40 calls were usually pleasant. Of the remaining 10 calls, 9 were probably just good people having a bad day. However, 1 of the 50 callers was just a ‘jerk’ (substitute your favorite choice word here). This job helped shaped my worldview. Don’t worry about the 1 jerk and focus on helping the 9 ‘good people having a bad day.’
  12. With most SB-winning teams, you typically see an arc of competitiveness that spans many seasons with a team breaking through once or twice. The Eagles went: 2015: 7-9 2016: 7-9 2017: 13-3 (SB Champs) 2018: 9-7 2019: 9-7
  13. I'll agree on stopping the Hill stuff, etc., but I think the rest is a bit too forgiving. Part of that is again the poor game plan of the saints, who went 2 to 1 pass to run vs. a poor run defense and with an aging QB. I'm a bit concerned that if a team will commit -- totally commit to running the ball on us, like the 49ers did in the NFC Championship Game, we won't be able to stop it. However that's hopefully where the big improvement in offense will pay off this year and we can take a team out of a game plan like that. That’s still a big fear of mine, but a higher scoring offense should make it more difficult for a team like the 49ers to impose their will (or so I tell myself).
  14. I’m not too worried about the defense just yet. The Packers were missing Clark and Kirksey (arguably their two best run stoppers) against a Top 5 running back. Plus, they couldn’t stack the box due to the threat of Brees passing.
  15. Darrius Shepherd was the #3 receiver last night. He was on the field for 23 offensive snaps (37%) vs just 4 snaps (6%) for Malik Taylor. Lazard and MVS each played >90% of the snaps.
  16. I can hardly complain about last night’s game, but I’m surprised AJ Dillon didn’t get any carries (especially considering the number of short yardage situations).
  17. It may be worth the hands team putting their kicker over there and just telling him to boot that squib ball straight out of bounds. Don't even mess with trying to recover it or wait passively to see whether it gets 10 yards downfield or not I believe that’s a penalty ... you can’t intentionally kick a loose ball.
  18. I thought the same thing. Hard to believe teams has been doing it wrong for years.
  19. Darrius Shepherd will be wearing #82 tonight. Welcome back.
  20. That’s pretty much where I’m at. The Packers haven’t won at New Orleans since 1995. Even with Adams and Clark, I wouldn’t bet against Drew Brees at home. Now, I’m afraid it won’t even be close. And if Taysom Hill and Jared Cook score, I’m just going to stay off the internet for a week. But hey, they might surprise us. Enjoy the game. Go Pack!
  21. Anyone just catch DK Metcalf’s boneheaded play that cost the Seahawks a TD and the ball?
  22. They led 26-10 going into the 4th quarter. Right now, Dan Quinn should be about as nervous as the 55 year old guy in your office who refuses to learn PowerPoint or use an Outlook calendar.
  23. Give credit to Zuerlein. I’m not sure the ball is fielded cleanly due to its spin. The recovery team probably weighed the odds of the ball not going 10 yards vs the chances of muffing the recovery and thought it best to wait. My first thought was - ‘that’s not going 10 yards.’ It was just a great kick.
  24. Darnell Savage and Elgton Jenkins popped up on the injury report today and are both questionable for Sunday.
  25. I used Door Dash for the first time ... what a nightmare. I called the restaurant, they said I needed to talk to Door Dash. I called Door Dash, they said I need to talk to the restaurant.
