  1. Could you imagine a game where Counsel AND Kendall homer? That is sort of what is going on in Chicago. Blanco's numbers this year are better than I would have every predicted.
  2. La Russa is genius for hitting Wellemeyer in the 4th. Who knew he would've gone out and 'tripled?' Uecker's story about Hardy's new cleats is incredibly terrible.
  3. I love Hart, but he is checked out mentally. Three run swing because of the right fielders.
  4. Tony must have told them all to just keep the bat on the shoulders this inning. They are taking everything.
  5. Ball is flying out of Wriggly tonight...This will be a high scoring affair so hopefully it gets into Z's head.
  6. Ramirez (the good one, not the annoying 3rd baseman) puts the Fish up on Cubs
  7. Argh...we were so confident that we'd get Ankiel that they didn't really keep tabs on the runner. Benny hates Budweiser.
  8. Hardy is back on another tear. Not as much power, but he just sees the ball so well sometimes.
  9. Let's not get too high. I'd love to see the Brewers win tonight. But we have taken six straight on the road and three of four so far from StL. This is still a very good team they're playing tonight. I completely agree, but I really feel good about this game. I'm not going to use the reverse jinx until later in the game.
  10. I agree that Aaron Miles is super annoying, but everyone on that team is annoying. We better get this game in tonight. I expect a huge night from Sheets and a good debut for Ray Ray.
  11. 1.3 Billion is what they say he offered, which is the highest bid so far. Hank Aaron is involved too with one of the bids.
  12. WAKE ME UP!!! I must be dreaming.... CC is insane. I can't believe it. Hope he has some gas...maybe 9 innings worth...to do a repeat on Monday when I'm at thegame
  13. Gibbons is a standup guy. It is annoying that he is one of the scapegoats for what so many players were wrapped up in. What is going on with Bonds is likely collosive (not sure that is the right way to spell it), but it may even be moreso in Gibbons' case. Bonds disrupts clubhouses and has crazy demands. This guy is a servicable lefty. No reason he didn't catch on elsewhere. I wish him all the luck and maybe we can teach him to pitch.
  14. Lohse has to come back to earth sometime right? Both pens were stretched a little last night so let's hope we have good Soup today. Otherwise, yank him immediately and let Bush go the distance...
  15. McClung was up all inning. Doesn't bode well for him. We are going to need at least 7 runs to win this.
  16. Hate the All-Star break...can't wait for them to get back in action. Not too confident about our ability to win out there, but these are the types of series we need to win to stay in the race. Especially considering with throw CC, Manny, and Sheets. That's our best ammunition. I see Rickie and Cam turning things around to really round out our lineup and turn the heat on the sCrUBS.
  17. It is very true though that there are a few guys who instill a little bit of confidence in the later innings and Rickie, Kap and Prince are those guys. The most interesting thing about that is that Braun has 9 game winners but only one came after the 7th inning. He is so much a part of our offense, it doesn't surprise me that his late inning absence seems to mirror the teams inability to score later in games.
  18. Let's just hope our August this year is better than last year.
  19. It really is frustrating. The worst part this week was the loss to Rusch and Fogg. Those (and the blow up on getaway day in Zona) were really tough to swallow. Some of those years have had stumbles out of the gate after the break too. Hopefully we can get a win tomorrow (I predict 7 homers off Homer), and carry that forward. Pretty sure that Brewers have never had a reigning Cy Young Award winner start back to back games.
  20. Hopefully McClung pulls a Fogg over them.
  21. Is that true? I hadn't heard that. I guess it makes sense as he's lost a little bit on his stuff, but I thought that was part of his move to the rotation.
  22. Yes...I'm still cringing. It's not over yet either... He loves these stories...can't say three words without chuckling.
  23. That won't win the HR derby, but I'll take that every AB. Nice job Braun
  24. Nice running Rickie. Let's take a few pitches now. JDLR always melted if you took pitches. Jim updates re AllStar: Corey's lead is narrowing. Lot of New Yorkers plugging Wright.
  25. I hate playing against pitchers with 6+ eras. We have such a bad record against those guys it seems.
