  1. Wow, great way to end the outing there for Yo. He pitched a great game. C'mon get him the win here. Or at the very least prevent him from losing the game.
  2. Man, if Loe comes in for the 8th I will freak out. It better be Hawkins or Saito. Won't matter if we can't get any runs on the board though.
  3. This inning didn't help. He's at 25 pitches already, and 96 overall. Might be done after 7.
  4. C'mon guys, get Yo some runs. He's pitching a great game and we can't even get a runner in scoring position, much less score a run. Pathetic.
  5. No, but based on the fact that Roenicke said he's comfortable with Wilson in LF because he has shagged balls out there, I'm sure he's fine with Gamel because he has at least played 3B before.
  6. Yeah, they usually are over cautious about closing the roof when there is a threat of rain. However, June 8th of this year was an exception. I'm not sure if anyone remembers that game and/or date. It's was stifling hot and the roof was closed for the first inning or two. Then they opened it, but not completely all the way. Then we got a text from our neighbors in Waukesha stating that the weather was getting pretty nasty out there. I pulled out my phone and looked at the radar and sure enough there were some nasty storms coming. They kept getting closer and closer an the roof was still open. We started to think that maybe the roof was stuck or something (since it was never fully opened). It even started raining a little before they finally started closing it in the 5th or 6th inning. Yeah, I was at that game. That's another situation where they should've left the roof open the whole time until the rain came. Instead they closed it, opened it, and closed it again. That proved that it's definitely easy to do, so not sure why it wasn't just open the whole time.
  7. Yeah, I wouldn't mind Dobbs. He's definitely an interesting option.
  8. I actually don't have any problems with this lineup, other than the fact that Braun is still out. As much as I dislike Kotsay, he's actually swinging a hot bat right now and looks good in the 5 hole. Lucroy is actually hitting higher in the order, Gamel is playing instead of McGehee, Betancourt isn't playing. Not much to complain about today surprisingly. Maybe Roenicke decided that he actually needs to put a good lineup out there after losing 7 of 8. Braun in for Kotsay and this would be an ideal lineup with the players we have on this roster.
  9. I totally agree. I've been at games multiple times already this year where this happened. It's really stupid, and defeats the purpose of the roof. When Miller Park first open the roof was touted for how fast it could close in case of rain. So it makes no sense to have it closed when there's a chance of rain. Just close it right before the rain comes. Especially on hot summer days and nights.
  10. I wouldn't be so sure about that. Wilson has never played in the OF in the majors, and played only once in the OF in the minors. I would guess that Kotsay is a far better OF than he is.
  11. Really hope Braun plays if he feels good enough. I really, really don't wanna watch this lineup play. Especially don't wanna see Wilson in LF. A lineup of Weeks Gomez Braun Fielder Hart McGehee Betancourt Kottaras Wolf would look a lot better.
  12. I would've went with Upton or Berkman over Holliday, but oh well. Love Rickie being in it.
  13. Hahaha, boy was I right. This lineup is horrible. I'd rather see Morgan in LF and batting 8th or something than Wilson. Wilson won't do anything, and isn't even an OF. I'd rather have Morgan in there just for his defense. Betancourt hitting 5th is still a complete joke. Braun really needs to get back soon.
  14. I'm 14-5 this year, and I'm also going. So we'll double the mojo.
  15. Got one wrong at least. Wolf is pitching, so Kottaras will be in there. And Yuni hit in front of McGehee yesterday, so never know. If Braun doesn't play, then it'll really be bad.
  16. So, what crappy lineup will Roenicke run out there tonight? McGehee back in the 5 spot? Betancourt still there? Gomez hitting 2nd? Kotsay playing against the lefty? We'll see.
  17. Yeah, I'd agree. He is there more as an extra bench bat and possible extra OF in a pinch like he did today. If he gets another start at 3B soon, or multiple starts in a row then I'd change my mind. I still think he'll be gone before the all-star break.
  18. Without trades I'd start by DFA'ing Kotsay and replacing him with Boggs. Probably just get rid of Wilson or Estrada and call up McClendon. Demote McGehee to AAA and recall Taylor Green. Then with trades I'd add a bullpen arm, possibly another lefty so Braddock can pitch full innings. Then I'd make Saito setup man, Hawkins, Loe, and Braddock can share situations before the 8th. Ax is still closer. McClendon is long man, and whoever we trade for is a LOGGY or extra arm. Then I'd look for a power bat for the bench and dump Wilson or whoever else. Try to get a serviceable SS and either bench Betancourt or DFA him. I wouldn't mind keeping Gamel as a bat off the bench, filling the Kotsay role, and getting occasional starts at 3B also. That would be about it for me that is realistic to do.
  19. Apparently it is. This is why Melvin pisses me off. He is such a flip-flopper when it comes to things like this. Do you wanna win Melvin, or don't you? Make up your mind. Those trades he made sure make it look like he wants to win, but then he decides it makes sense to have a terrible hitter in the major league lineup working things out. Stupid.
  20. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/124975114.html General manager Doug Melvin had a long talk with McGehee in the dugout after BP. Melvin didn't say what the discussion involved but he did say he has no intention at this point of sending McGehee to the minors to get squared away offensively. "Players know that's always a possibility but that doesn't always work," said Melvin. "We did it with J.J. (Hardy in 2009) and he recover from that (that year). You don't always recover. The best thing is to try to get him straightened out here." Great...
  21. Yesterday was probably the worst possible outcome for anyone hoping Kotsay would be cut. In other words, it was a horrible day for all Brewer fans. All in all though, this is a home game. So that means it's a W.
