    Cecil is an idiot. He doesn't even talk to Prince. How the heck would he know where he might sign? It's just stupid of him to say something like that when it has no basis whatsoever. It's even dumber for the New York Daily News to report it. It means nothing.

    Because Melvin won't want to trade for him. I think that's what people are mostly alluding to. Not a Melvin fan, but I doubt he holds any kind of grudge, and he believes in 2nd chances. I would think he'd believe Hardy would give him a 2nd chance. Hardy would be crazy to turn down the type of free agency pay day he could get if he played on a World Series team. I don't but that Melvin or Hardy would be against it. I'm just saying what everyone is thinking that says that. The move makes sense, but it depends on the expense. I wouldn't give up too much for him.

    I'd be very happy with that. Still not sure why McGehee needs protection, but Fielder doesn't though. If Roenicke was smart enough he'd realize that hitting Hart behind McGehee is more important.

    Maybe, but who leads off against lefties? Gomez? I think not.

    Gamel wouldn't be called up if Roenicke intended to play Kotsay. The only time he might not be in the lineup is against the lefties. Although I think he should just start all 6 games.

    Screw that. We want Fielder starting. I don't care about his defense. If we're talking defense, an outfield of Braun, Holliday, and Berkman is a lot worse than just having Prince play 1B. I'd DH Berkman and put Kemp in the starting lineup if that's allowed.

    That's an interesting thought. Not sure if Melvin would do that, but we'll see I guess. There has to be some logical explanation for it. I'm hoping that he's leaving space for some trades.

    Melvin made it sound like Saito may be activated soon, so Dillard may still go down. That is unless they wait for interleague to end.

    I really don't care about the moves. Mitre probably deserved to stay over Dillard at least, but oh well. He was replaceable. Just happy to see Braddock back, and Gamel up to DH. Not sure why they need to get clearing 40-man space though. What's obvious in all this is that Roenicke has a man crush on Dillard, and we wanted Estrada as insurance for Marcum.

    Yes! Wow us Brewer fans took over this past week! Now we just gotta make sure he holds on. Should have at least 2 starters, and hopefully Prince we get picked also. He passed Votto, and isn't even that far behind Pujols. Hopefully getting into 2nd gets him the nod to replace Pujols, or DH at least.

    Calling Gamel up to DH for 6 games is smart, calling him up permanently is not. He needs to stay in AAA to get regular at-bats and more importantly play 1B. We need him to come in strong defensively at 1B next year. No way that Green gets called up this year, until maybe September. As much as people wanna see it, I just don't see it happening. I would guess that management wants him in AAA all year, and then next year in ST he can compete with McGehee if need be. Saito and Braddock will inevitably be back soon, if not for the Yankees series. Kotsay is useless, we all know that. Boggs should be on the roster as the 5th OF instead of him. He has pop, switch-hits, and can play better defense. We really need a power bat on the bench. Would've liked to see Branyan get picked up, but we all knew that wouldn't happen either.

    Yeah, it would make sense if they waited to activate Saito until after the 6 games. That way they won't have to wait to get that extra pitcher back. But they better bring back Braddock before this series to replace Estrada or Dillard.

    I'd just go ahead and do Gamel, Saito, and Braddock for DiFelice, Dillard, and Estrada.

    Why? Just move McGehee down and hit Hart 5th. Morgan is good in the 2 hole.

    Well, this was an awesome day. Went to the game, got the sweep, Cardinals, Reds, and Pirates all lost. And then came home and saw that T-Plush interview. Lol, great day.

    Wow, Hart killed that one. He had an amazing night at the plate. Some great at-bats, saw a lot of pitches.

    The only lefty we are scheduled to face the whole 6 game stretch is Liriano on Friday. So at least that bodes well for Gamel getting the chance. I just don't see it happening. It will be too tempting for Roenicke to just use Kotsay. Ugh.
