  1. Except with Morris, he wouldn't get time to grow. He likely would've gone down when Ramirez came back in a few weeks, or at the latest when Hart came back. I can see your point if it was a debate of whether or not to go with him all season or not, but it's just a short call-up. That had to go into the thought process. If it was a situation where Hart was out for the season or something, Morris would almost guaranteed be the starting 1B right now. I think they just want to wait it out and let him develop in AAA since it's not a long term opening at the major league level. Especially since he struggled in Spring Training. He never had an at-bat above AA before a few days ago, so he still has something left to prove. What does surprise me is that they didn't go harder after a veteran actual 1B if they knew Hart would for sure miss an entire 2 months when the season began. I have to believe they did if they made the the move to 60-day DL him.
  2. Agreed 100%. While I would've liked to see Morris, I don't mind Lalli at all. And you're definitely right about people immediately turning it around on Melvin & Co. if Morris struggled. Same situation as when everyone was clamoring for Taylor Green. Seems almost like a lose, lose situation. Going with Lalli opens up Maldonado to play more 1B, and also gives Roenicke another LH option to use off the bench and at 1B some also. I'm not upset with the move at all.
  3. That was definitely the best crowd in a long, long time. At any WWE event.
  4. Yeah, that's a good point too. They'll need to open the spot back up for Hart.
  5. I think Raw tonight was more entertaining than WrestleMania. So pumped that Ziggler is finally the champ!
  6. Lalli and Maldonado will probably platoon, or at least split time, at 1B now. Gonzalez and Betancourt will handle 3B and backup the rest of the IF. Hart going to the 60-day DL isn't a big deal. If they thought he'd be back before June, they wouldn't have done it. I heard that the belief at the end of spring training was that he'd be out the full 2 months, so this move doesn't surprise me. It's also pretty obvious that they just don't want to start Morris' service time clock.
  7. Surprised Rock tore his abdomen and adductor muscles off the bone last night. He looked unfazed, and that's a really painful injury. Now he'll probably have to shoot movies with it too. Brutal.
  8. Anyone else hear about the whole Rock injury debacle tonight? Apparently he went home because has some injury, and the nixed the entire opening segment to Raw. It was supposed to be a whole setup between Rock and Brock. They had to scramble to re-write the show. Interesting news. Too bad too, because I would've liked to have seen what they were gonna do.
  9. I hope it's Morris, so they can finally have an actual 1B playing 1B. And one who is good defensively too.
  10. Sounds like it. I think they'll add a bench player if Fiers is skipped, and a pitcher if he's not.
  11. Mike Vassallo ‏@MikeVassallo13 50s Today's #Brewers lineup at Wrigley Field: Aoki 9, Gomez 8, Braun 7, Weeks 4, Lucroy 2, Gonzalez 6, Maldonado 3, Betancourt 5, Estrada 1 Braun is back!
  12. Tom ‏@Haudricourt 1m #Brewers LHP Chris Narveson has finger injury preventing him from pitching. Here's yet another injury.
  13. Looks like he changed his mind. Probably the best idea. Can't be throwing Ax out there in save situations right now. Gotta try to figure out what's wrong with him, and that shouldn't be done in key situations.
  14. http://disciplesofuecker.com/john-axford-and-release-points/9103 This is an interesting read. Talks about why release point may be an issue.
  15. Todd Rosiak ‏@Todd_Rosiak 2m Ryan Braun said his neck is feeling better, and he's going to try to take BP. #Brewers And despite the perception, it's actually going to be 60 and partly cloudy by gametime. No cold or rain.
  16. Just saw this tweet, and it's 100% dead on. John Canton ‏@johnreport 4m If @WWE made people care about titles the way they care about Undertaker's streak then the shows would be way better. Just saying. That's usually a factor in why Taker's matches are the most enjoyable every year. Meaning needs to be brought back to all of the titles. Will it happen? Probably not. But it should.
  17. If Segura has already said he's not playing, my guess is they're waiting on Braun.
  18. Punk and Taker both deserve a ton of credit since they were both working injured. I know there's rumors of Punk taking time off now actually. Ryback/Henry was decent. I was just surprised that Henry went over, and then they ended it with Ryback hitting shell shocked. Don't get why he didn't just go over then. And yes I like Swagger and Colter a lot too, but Swagger not winning isn't a good sign for him. He was originally scheduled to win before his DUI. We'll see if that feud even continues. I have my doubts.
  19. Adam McCalvy ‏@AdamMcCalvy 1m Jean Segura says he's a no-go today. "Still sore." No lineup posted yet so we don't know about Braun. Guess that's not the correct lineup.
  20. The best match by far was Taker/Punk. Everything else was pretty average. HHH/Lesnar was slow, but the end was good. Rock/Cena had way to many finishers and kick outs. Really cheapened it in my opinion. The rest of the matches were kind of just there. Nothing special. I had a bit higher expectations, but it didn't live up to them. I think last year's was probably better. Also, does anyone else think that may have been Rock's last match with the way they ended it? Just seemed odd to me.
  21. There's no way Cena turns heel with all the charity work he does and with his affiliation with Make-A-Wish. Being heel just wouldn't jive with any of that, as much as people wanna think otherwise. They may be teasing it to get people more intrigued by the match, but it won't happen. Although it would work if they actually did do it, because me and tons of other people who think the same way would be SHOCKED. I'd be shocked and pleasantly surprised actually.
  22. I'll throw out mine too. Cena vs Rock - Cena wins clean and they shake hands at the end. Passing the torch moment. ADR vs Swagger - Swagger takes it capping off his major push. Taker vs Punk - Undertaker, obviously. Probably with Hells Gate again. Sheamus, Orton, Show vs The Shield - The Shield wins when Orton turns heel by turning on his team. Ryback vs Henry - Ryback wins. Hits shell shocked for his big Mania moment. Team Hell Ho vs Ziggler/Big E - Ziggler/Big E Lesnar vs HHH - HHH picks up the win after a brutal fight. Jericho vs Fandango - I think Jericho wins it by reversing the top rope leg drop into the Walls. Then the feud continues. Clay, Tensai, Cameron, and Naomi vs Rhodes Scholars and The Bellas - Who cares? But I'll say Clay, Tensai, Cameron, and Naomi Pre-show Miz vs Barrett - Miz wins the title
  23. You would hope/think it's a Betancourt DFA. Not disagreeing, but I would be shocked if that happens. He's not going anywhere. Would be left with no backup at 3B, or anywhere else on the IF if Gonzalez is starting. If Green or Bianchi were healthy that would be a definite option, but neither are right now.
