  1. I saw this mentioned in the 40-man roster thread, but why not Blake Lalli for a bench spot? Could then use he or Maldonado at 1B to backup Gonzalez. He's got a slash line of .357/.419/.536 in spring, and would be a nice LH bat to have off the bench. Could go with a bench of Schafer, Maldonado, Bianchi, Lalli, and Davis to start the season. Green just hasn't earned his spot in my opinion. Still would have versatility with Bianchi and Gonzalez to backup all IF positions.
  2. I'd be fine with that. Lalli is out-hitting Green by far. I think he might be a better option at this point as a backup to Gonzalez. As would Maldonado. I'd be fine with a bench of Schafer, Maldonado, Lalli, Bianchi, and Davis to start the season. Green just simply isn't hitting enough to make me trust him at all as a quality bench option.
  3. I get that, but Morris could still DH some games. And mainly I mean just working with him period. In practice and before games and such. Obviously he'd need some game time too, but wouldn't need to dip into Morris' playing time.
  4. I agree. Instead, all they say is that he tried in instructionals and it didn't go well. It's pretty clear that his only value to this team will be off the bench unless he can play some 1B. So I don't understand why they don't continue to work with him. If anything they should continue to work with him on it in AAA.
  5. Todd Rosiak ‏@Todd_Rosiak I'm hearing the Brewers are going to extend Carlos Gomez's contract. Four years, around $27.5 million. Will update here in a bit. With the amount of money CFs are getting on the open market, I think it's a good risk/reward to sign him now. Could end up being a steal if he keeps improving.
  6. I think they're doing fine with the build for the top 4 matches. Where they are really failing is building up any mid card matches. Looks like they have Ryback vs. Mark Henry and maybe some type of 3 on 3 with The Shield, but that's about it. It's really disappointing that Ziggler and Bryan aren't more involved in WM this year. It showed in their match last night how much talent they have, and neither of them even has a WM storyline right now. Neither does Y2J for that matter, although it seems as though they might be building something with Barrett. Still disappointing. Cesaro, Rhodes, and Sandow really have nothing big going on either. I think creative should've done a better job with starting to build up the rest of the card. There's 3 weeks left now to build basically every match except the top 4. They've done a much better job building the card top to bottom in previous year in my opinion. And that was before 3 hour Raws. They've just been throwing too much crap and fillers on Raw, rather than using the time to build the other matches at WM.
  7. Just got released... Mike Vassallo ‏@MikeVassallo13 RHP Kelvim Escobar has been given his unconditional release. 50 players remain in #Brewers Major League camp.
  8. It all depends on whether or not Rogers makes the rotation. If he doesn't, he'll likely take the last spot in the pen. If he does make it, then there's an opening for one of those guys. But anything's possible at this point. I'm not positive Kintzler is a lock if he struggles throughout ST.
  9. MVP Baseball is coming back? That would be awesome. That was my favorite baseball game of all-time.
  10. Was very sad to hear about Paul Bearer. Was like a big part of my childhood died. RIP Paul.
  11. Sigh... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RO5_YPE6j3g&feature=player_embedded#at=144
  12. People have no right whatsoever to rag on Attanasio.
  13. Can't say I hate anyone yet. I have a feeling it's going to be Mike Fiers pissing everyone off though. Just seems like a one-year wonder candidate to me. Kind of like Josh Collmenter of the D'Backs. Was good in 2011, and came out and got rocked as a starter in 2012, but ended up being decent in the pen. I hope I'm wrong though. Would be nice to not have a whipping boy on the pitching staff this year. Would also be nice to not have any crappy vets on the bench, but that still remains a possibility.
  14. Harris will continue to flourish with regular playing time. We'll definitely regret trading him. It's pretty obvious already how big of a mistake it was.
  15. I disagree that Rogers is a lock. If he tanks in ST and the other rotation candidates look good, then he may not make it. Although, he could still be kept in the bullpen. I'd say that he is a good bet, but not a lock. Chances are that at least one of the others doesn't outperform him anyway. I'm not sure that Bianchi being out of options makes much difference. I don't think he's seen as that valuable of a commodity that he'd be kept just for that reason if he doesn't earn it.
  16. This is fantastic news. Aoki could end up being valuable for the entire 6 years. He's 31 now, and would be 35 in the 6th year. If you look at Ichiro as an example of when Japanese players may start to drop off, he didn't drop off at all until the season he was 37. Aoki could still be playing at the top of his game at 35. I think we got a huge steal in Aoki. Although that's already obvious after only one year based on what we're paying him.
  17. My favorite part of that clip is that it came off of Chris Carpenter. I was about to say the same thing.
  18. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=25607047&source=MLB&gid=1993_07_02_texmlb_detmlb_1 But man, this Cecil bomb is ridiculous.
  19. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=19861421&c_id=mlb I could watch this one for a lifetime.
  20. That video is definitely awesome. So is this whole angle and the Zeb character. Swagger deserves to be punished, but this is obviously a hot angle, which is what might deter them from doing so. This would be a really good build for a match with ADR. Perfect actually.
  21. Actually he was scheduled to win the title at WM. Ziggler sounds like the backup plan. Probably will cash to win, and ADR will get his rematch at WM. http://www.pwmania.com/backstage-talk-jack-swagger-wrestlemania-29-news-cody-rhodes-rock-segment#.USetr45SkSM
  22. At least Gallardo did.
  23. Swagger finally gets his shot at a real push, and then screws it up by getting a DUI and having weed in his car. Awesome. Guessing he'll get suspended now.
  24. There's only one answer to this problem... 3... http://manginphotography.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/8S8H2617-467x575.jpg T... http://0.tqn.com/d/baseball/1/0/e/L/-/-/rbranyan1.jpg 0 http://cache1.asset-cache.net/xc/81733748.jpg?v=1&c=IWSAsset&k=2&d=77BFBA49EF8789215ABF3343C02EA54880B3136AAFAADBD9D27C263EFD16C235E994AA8FA414C9F9
  25. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Ziggler ends up cashing on ADR. Big Show flips after losing again and knocks ADR out, leading to the cash. Then Y2J wins the chamber setting up a match with Ziggler at WM. Or I could see Jericho wrestling ADR, and winning at WM, and Ziggler cashes on him and leaves with the title.
