  1. De Los Santos is also controllable for 5 more years after this year, so if he can reach his potential, this could be a steal.
  2. HAHA. These were my thoughts exactly.
  3. I'm happy with this deal. This is a nice pickup. I was hoping for a bullpen arm, and that's just what we got.
  4. I'm kind of surprised we didn't throw K-Rod out there the last few games to try to get a few good outings out of him. That's really the only way we'll be able to get rid of him. Loe has looked good, which could make him a trade chip again. Parra obviously still seems to be, and maybe Loe is too.
  5. Alright, I see what you're saying then. That makes more sense. I would have to think he's bluffing. We can only hope.
  6. I honestly think the chances are better that Hart signs an extension this offseason than gets traded. I'm not saying this is what I'd do, I just think it's what'll happen. He seems like a guy that'll be around for awhile, like it or not. Now Ramirez on the other hand, I could definitely see getting traded at some point. I do see both of them being on the opening day roster next year though, unless Doug gets blown away by an offer.
  7. Welcome, class, to Driving Up Trade Offers 101. Professor Melvin will be your instructor... I hope you're joking, because selling him as a possible starter wouldn't help drive up trade offers whatsoever. Him pitching well is about the only thing that would help, and that hasn't happened a lot recently.
  8. Welcome, class, to Driving Up Trade Offers 101. Professor Melvin will be your instructor... I have to believe this is the case, because I would really hope they know he can't start anymore.
  9. Tom ‏@Haudricourt Other than pending trade of George Kottaras to Oakland, #Brewers GM Doug Melvin said he has not deals in the works. Well, we better hope that he starts getting some calls. He probably has, just nothing else going on yet. I hope he can pull off a few more deals.
  10. I think 7 is a pretty fair estimate for the over/under. I'll take the over though.
  11. This is what scares the heck out of me. That would be incredibly stupid. Just trade him if there's value coming back, or keep him as a reliever. There's absolutely no way he should ever start again.
  12. Alright Randy, pitch a gem tonight so we can trade you. And because I want to see a win.
  13. I think Doug was focused on getting the Greinke deal hammered out. Now that it's done, I think we'll see him make some more moves. Probably won't involve Hart or Ramirez, but I could see others going. Kottaras for sure obviously, and hopefully we can somehow get rid of Wolf, K-Rod, and Morgan. Getting rid of anyone else from the pen will be pretty tough. I think we gotta hope K-Rod gets a few appearances over the weekend and does well, and then we can trade him right before the deadline.
  14. I didn't get a chance to read up on these guys until this morning, but I love this trade. Doug did a great job in getting the best package he could. Got the SS he wanted, and two high ceiling pitching prospects. I'm very excited about it.
  15. Glad to see Rogers get the call, but I think he'll ultimately end up in the pen in the long-term. That's obviously fine though, because we need quality arms out there in a bad way.
  16. http://i.imgur.com/r3XI1.gif Man I LOL'd at this. My thoughts exactly.
  17. I think this whole NWO reunion thing would just be like the DX reunion on Raw and nothing more than that. None of those guys can really do anything in the ring anymore. It's really not news. Just something Nash and Bischoff mentioned that they'd like to see happen. WWE does need a new stable though. I think that's a good idea. They'd probably mess up the booking like they did with Nexus though. Evolution was probably the last good stable in WWE.
  18. Probably wasn't smart to pitch Thornburg multiple innings on back-to-back days when he's not used to that kind of workload.
  19. It's pretty clear now that his fastball isn't what held him back for so long. Glad to see him do so well in his debut.
  20. As I said in the Greinke thread. Gallardo has a 3.72 ERA, 16 quality starts, has gone 6 IP or more in all but 3 of his starts, and has 122 K in 121 IP. I think he's having a great year. Right in line with his previous seasons. The offense and bullpen have just really screwed his W-L record. Trading Gallardo would be really stupid. Obviously he isn't looking good tonight, but that's just 1 start. He's been very, very good since his slow April. He's been basically just as good this season as he was in previous years. He's a solid top of the rotation pitcher that we need. We can't afford to trade him away. He's under contract for 2 more years, with an option for a 3rd year, at a reasonable price. I think it would be absolutely foolish to consider trading him right now, especially with the lack of proven pitchers we'll have with Greinke, Marcum, and Wolf all gone after this year.

  22. But Gavin Floyd sucks. They are trying to dump his contract, so I'm not sure how the package they get for Floyd can translate into Greinke. Only scenario that I could think of was them trading Viciedo or Rios plus Tyler Flowers to somebody like the Nationals, and then getting Morgan or Gomez or somebody from the Brewers. They would combine whatever they get with their own players or prospects. The 3rd team would just be to add pieces to the trade. I don't see them being able to make the best offer anyway though.
  23. Yep, but I'd also take any type of useable reliever at this point. Might as well get someone of use if possible.
  24. But who goes to the third team? I was trying to come up with a scenario, but their only tradeable players are major pieces on their major league roster. Don't know. Just saying. Gavin Floyd most likely.
