  1. AJ is the new Raw GM. Interesting decision there. I'm intrigued.
  2. Colby Lewis is out for the year, and may need Tommy John. Melvin better be talking to the Rangers already.
  3. I agree with this. I think Greinke will be gone by the end of the day on Wednesday.
  4. Wow, that is crazy. Great deal for the Yankees. I heard the Mariners just wanted to get rid of him, so they weren't pressured to re-sign him after the season. Still a good pickup for than Yankees though. Today is crazy. I thought it was July 23, not July 31?
  5. Now the Tigers picked up Jacob Turner for Sanchez and Infante. I'm very intrigued by what we can get for Greinke.
  6. Wow, that's a big trade. Getting Infante and Sanchez is big for Detroit, but getting Turner is very nice for Miami.
  7. I saw somewhere that Ken Rosenthal confirmed he turned it down. I'll try to find it. EDIT: Here it is. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/milwaukee-brewers-trade-deadline-zack-greinke-randy-wolf-072312
  8. He probably didn't approve the deal yet, because he has a no-trade clause.
  9. Man, if the Cubs end up with Delgado and Lee they would have a good start to a very good, young rotation for the foreseeable future.
  10. I'm very encouraged after seeing Delgado go to the Cubs for Dempster. I think the return for Greinke will be very good.
  11. If Dempster landed the Cubs Delgado, the return for Greinke could be very, very good.
  12. They'll have to cut out the normal crap they do to fit it all in, which will make this a really good show. Probably PPV quality. The rest of the 3 hours Raws from now on probably won't end that way. At least this one will be good though, so I'm looking forward to it.
  13. If somebody wants them, then Doug better trade them. That's all there is to it. I highly doubt either will be any better than they are now, so might as well trade them while you still can.
  14. Jericho posted a video saying he'll be the one people are talking about after Monday. I hope something big happens involving him.
  15. The only thing that will matter in that start is that he shows he's completely healthy and back to normal. If he comes and with his velocity, and looks gassed, that won't help. I don't see that happening though.
  16. That's a really good point. The Cain contract can't necessarily be the barometer. The price is almost certainly higher.
  17. The Bucks will have some horrible sponsors compared to other teams. That would be my guess. Won't really help them at all.
  18. Yeah, if Grienke turned that offer down we are already in crazy territory. No way we can afford more than that, and even that offer is pushing it. Time to move on and trade him. If he really wanted to stay bad enough, he would've taken that offer. It's more than fair.
  19. We'd be lucky to get one of those two, much less both. Although there are things that can happen to boost Greinke's value. Hamels could re-sign with Philly, Greinke could be dominant on Tuesday, and Garza could end up being out with injury past the deadline.
  20. Exactly. It's nice to know we actually have a solid backup for years to come for once, instead of constantly cycling through overpaid garbage.
  21. Seeing as the whole reason he left in the first place was because he wanted to play for a winner, I'd say that's highly doubtful. The Royals have a lot of promising young players, but they won't compete any time soon.
  22. It would be incredibly stupid to trade Maldonado. He's a perfect backup catcher for this team, and can help ease the load on Lucroy. He's far and away better than Kottaras as a backup. I'm not sure he has a ton of trade value anyway, but he has value to this team. Just get rid of Kottaras and be done with it.
  23. That could also explain why he's skipping a start. One or both sides may want to give him time to think about it exclusively. Hard to concentrate on a huge decision in your life, and propoerly prepare to pitch at the same time. And I would think Greinke even more than others. It sure SOUNDS like Melvin is throwing his best offer out there with a deadline. If Greinke doesn't accept he'll be traded for the best deal Melvin can get. I really expect one or the other, I don't see him being here past the trade deadline without an extension signed. I would hope so, but I don't see him being traded if they keep winning games here in the next week or so.
  24. Greinke is about as vague as any player ever, so nobody will know what it means until after the fact most likely. If he gets traded it means he rejected it. If he ends up signing then we know he considered and accepted. If he ends up staying with the Brewers past the deadline and not signing then we still won't know what's going on. Knowing Greinke and the Brewers, the last one is the most likely.
