  1. Yeah, I have no idea why this isn't being mentioned anywhere but here. Everyone, including Melvin, is making it seem like we are basically stuck with K-Rod and his salary if he accepts. Even though that isn't the case at all.
  2. This was heavily reported earlier today, and later denied. It's speculated to be true though.
  3. Yep, it's gonna be pretty bad. It's to the point where I, as well as everyone else, would take anyone but Yuni. Although, it's probably been like that all along.
  4. The brewerfan meltdown after Yuni re-signs will likely be one of the biggest ever. Should be an interested thread to read through. I think it'll be similar to the vent thread after we lost to the Cards, lol. We'll call this one the 2012 Yuni-B Vent Thread, and just keep it open all season.
  5. Really the main reason they'll bring him back is to save money, because he'll be dirt cheap. Probably the cheapest option out there. And if Ramirez, Hawkins, and Saito are all signed, which seems very possible now, there will be very little money available.
  6. Yeah, I see no reason why he'd come back to serve as a utility player. He'll probably wait to be an everyday player, and play where he wants to.
  7. In ladder matches I tend to prefer either one on one, or lots of people like MITB or the tag team ladder matches they used to have. I don't think 3 with make a big enough difference. If Cena was included, and it was 4, that might've mattered. I wouldn't've minded a 5 or 6-way match though.
  8. I'm now seeing on twitter that San Diego is targeting K-Rod to replace Bell, which is a good sign. Also, Saito may be coming back to the Brewers on a 1-year deal. Also good.
  9. I'm pretty sure the Brewers prefer Rollins before Ramirez. That seems to be the case. I would think everyone here would prefer Rollins first as well. SS is just a position that is harder to fill. However, I doubt we'll get him. It'll probably be Ramirez as a fallback option. The Phillies know how important it is for them to keep Rollins, so I think they'll do it. I'd love to have him though. I really want us to have a good SS for once. We could get by at 3b with McGehee/Green if we have to. I just really don't wanna see Betancourt manning SS again. I hope that we can get Gonzalez or something if we end up with Ramirez, just so we at least don't have to deal with defensive problems at SS.
  10. I agree, the TLC match would've been better as a one-on-one, but oh well. The booking of Bryan continues to baffle me when he's seemingly in line for a push soon. Don't really care about Cena, just glad that Ryder is finally getting the shot. That match might steal the show. Nash/HHH will suck as expected. It does seem like the US and IC titles are becoming relevant again, which I agree is great for the company. TLC does look very average, but it has some potential so we'll see what happens. I think Rhodes/Booker will end up on the card too, which will be interesting. And there's no way Vince let's anyone bleed. That won't change as long as WWE is PG.
  11. Just saw on Rotoworld that the Red Sox had the high bid on Nakajima. Could Scutaro or Lowrie be a target for us?
  12. To this lineup I say, yes please!
  13. I think the option of cutting him may have to happen if he accepts. It also may make him just decline it and go for a closer's job.
  14. K-Rod wants to be the closer he will get a 0% chance to do that in Milwaukee and thus will not accept arbitration. It is not about the money for K-Rod it is about being that guy at the end of the bullpen as the closer he will take less to be a closer. If the Brewers land Ramirez it will be donwn to Yuni and Gonzalez and between the two it will be who is the cheapest.I'm only saying this because many insiders are reporting that K-Rod and Madson may accept arby, because the market for closers isn't looking good anymore and they seem to be on the outside looking in. The possibility is still there. It's far from a slam dunk that he won't accept, even though many believe he won't.
  15. I'm incredibly scared that K-Rod will accept arby, and all we'll end up with other than him is Yuni to man SS.
  16. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/135105808.html Melvin only went one year. Just confirms our suspicion.
  17. With it now looking like Pujols to the Marlins is very possible, we may a shot at Gaby Sanchez. The Marlins need pitching, so they might want one of our starting pitchers though. I also saw that the Cubs are thought to be front runners for Sanchez if this happens. Because he'd be a cost-effective building block for them. That would put them out of the Fielder race, which also would make things interesting.
  18. I'd take Bill Hall as our utility man. He's one of the most versatile players in the league, if not the most versatile. He can play every position on the field except catcher and pitcher.
  19. I heard that the Brewers were one of the teams interested in DeRosa, so it could definitely happen.
  20. They will most likely target Ramirez and Rollins. And if they fail on both, they'll got for Furcal.
  21. I really think Hairston wanted to go back to play on the West Coast. That and the fact that Melvin probably didn't wanna give a utility player a 2-year-deal, which I can't say I blame him for. I liked Hairston, but we'll move on.
  22. It's starting to look like the Phillies might nab Ramirez and trade Polanco. If this happens, it may just make us the front runners for Rollins. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing. I guess it depends on the contract. Although, I do think their interest in Ramirez is partially to get Rollins to back down from his demands and stay in Philly. I really do think Ramirez would prefer to play for Milwaukee, because he wants to keep his family in Chicago. We'll see I guess.
  23. I think we're looking past the fact that Hairston probably just wants to play for out west for the Dodgers. I wouldn't blame Melvin for this. Pretty sure he would match this offer.
  24. I think what will end up happening is that Pujols will sign first, and then all of his suitors will turn focus to Fielder, thus amping up his market. Then he may end up getting just as much, if not more money, than Pujols.
  25. There's already reports that they plan to move him to 3rd, and he's ok with it. I have my doubts that they'd just sign Reyes knowing that Ramirez would then force a trade after. I think the plan all along was to move Ramirez to 3B, so they targeted Reyes. They seem to be ready to go all-in. I don't think anyone has a shot at him, much less the Brewers with their already thin farm system.
