  1. http://www.mlbtraderumors...der-rangers-mcgehee.html Apparently the Rangers want to trade Moreland to TB for Wade Davis, so they are looking for a new 1B. They have interest in McGehee for some reason. Wonder what we could get for him?
  2. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1...53ea67c8f5#ht_500wt_1273 This is pretty cool if he doesn't have one already. Pretty unique for the diehard fan to have.
  3. Yeah, that'll really suck. I live in the Milwaukee area, but watching on WMLW sucks so bad it would just be better to not watch at all.
  4. I think we should trade him, sign Ramirez, and sign a different setup man. Then we'll be good. K-Rod doesn't wanna be a setup man anyway. Melvin said he'd talk to him about it, and I'm pretty sure if he knows he has the chance to close, he'll take it.
  5. Yeah, the Hornets made out like bandits in this deal. Martin, Scola, Dragic, Odom, 1st-rounder. Demps was getting praise from other GMs. this trade would've only worked out for LA if they also got Howard. Without Odom and Gasol they'd have no frontcourt or depth. Not gonna get through the Western conference playoffs with a gimp Bynum, Caracter, and Walton playing key roles in the frontcourt.
  6. Green will be in AAA if we get Ramirez. Otherwise he'll platoon will McGehee. Doubt he'll see any time at 2B. I doubt anyone will if Weeks stays healthy.
  7. What the lineup will be with our current roster Hart Morgan Braun Weeks Gamel/McGehee McGehee/Green Gonzalez Lucroy
  8. Want nothing to do with Theriot. Give me Punto.
  9. That would work too. They could get creative in the first year to keep our payroll at a reasonable level.
  10. I have a feeling the Marlins might get in on him. Although that would require Hanley playing 2B instead of 3B, and I doubt that'll happen. We'll see though.
  11. I'd take him for 3 years $30 million. That seems reasonable.
  12. Perfect, no more Yuni. And defense. Success.
  13. This is the kind of thing that always perplexes me. I'm willing to admit that maybe its way over my head. How much has the value of the Milwaukee Brewers gone up since Mark A & crew bought the team? $50 million? $100 million? $150 million? Mark A is not losing money! Exactly, in the future when he decides to sell the team, whenever that may be, he will make a TON of money. He's pretty far away from losing money on this team. The team is gaining more value year-by-year.
  14. Yeah, if anything they will use that in contract negotiation with K-Rod, and hopefully talk him down to $9 million or so.
  15. Based on Doug's comments, my take is that Mark doesn't care and wants to go all in again. I think they'll go hard after both Ramirez and Furcal.
  16. My initial reaction of this was just to laugh that he left the Cardinals. This helps us and hurts them in the short-term. In the long-term, the Cardinals will be really happy they aren't tied down to that horrible deal.
  17. Axford isn't going anywhere. He's the closer here. K-Rod is a one-year deal, and then he's gone for good. There's no way we can trade Ax. He's incredibly effective, and incredibly cheap at the same time.
  18. There is absolutely no way we sign Fielder. K-Rod accepting arby only makes it more of a slam dunk that we won't. He's as good as gone. Only a matter of time. It's already been reported that the payroll won't go over $95 million. K-Rod will put it up to $80 million minimum, and then we will struggle to fill the roster and keep it under 95. Signing Fielder is virtually impossible now. Only way to make it happen would be to trade away not just one, but probably 2-3 high paid players. Won't happen.
  19. The thing in our favor with Ramirez is that it looks like the Angels will get CJ Wilson, which may put them out of the running for Ramirez. That leaves basically only the Brewers as suitors. Could get him for a little less than expected.
  20. If he wouldn't accept a set-up role, then why did he accept arby? He's clearly about the money. If he wanted to close that badly, he would've declined and went elsewhere.
  21. The sad thing is we paid $4 million to buy out of his option, and now we'll pay probably $2.5 million even if we release him. That's $6.5 million right there. If we keep him, K-Rod makes out like a bandit. That $4 million plus as much as $14 million. $18 million for one season as a setup man. Yikes.
  22. Apparently Hawkins got 1 year $3 million. Definitely affordable.
  23. Yes, but if he does just stay on the team, they won't be able to sign any free agents outside of Betancourt. The rest of the pen will be weak, and there will be some holes in the lineup. Without K-Rod these problems could be at least partially solved. There's absolutely no reason to pay your setup man $13 million, no matter how good he is. If they keep him, say goodbye to Saito, Hawkins, Ramirez, any SS other than Yuni, and any other free agent. We'll be filling the roster with all rookies and minimum salaries.
  24. At least Gonzalez is a better defender than Yuni. The difference would be very noticeable.
