  1. Kenny Williams did seem pretty happy at the fact that he's going to rebuild his team. He just loves to trade.
  2. Yeah, I would've much rather seen Meadows protected over Kjelgaard. Makes a lot more sense.
  3. Heyman just tweeted that the deal is 2 years $10.5M, just putting finishing touches on it.
  4. I wonder if Alex Gonzalez or Ronny Cedeno are possibilities. Neither are that far and away different than Barmes.
  5. I'm not a big fan of the extra wild card. I just don't think that a team should be eliminated based on 1 game. I like the wild card getting a guaranteed shot at a 5 game series.
  6. Based on the new system it looks like K-Rod is not a Type A this year now, which sucks. I guess that eliminates any risk associated with offering him arby though. Thankfully Prince is still Type A.
  7. Totally agree with this viewpoint. Most people seem to think we still have a shot a Reyes, Rollins, or Furcal, but if Melvin wouldn't pay that for Barmes, I don't see him paying any of those what they want. I have slight hope for Furcal, but that's it. I'm hoping we start hearing of interest in other options out there instead of Betancourt. I have a bad feeling Melvin will sink about $6-7 million into Saito and Hawkins, or other relievers and keep Betancourt for a low price.
  8. Looks like it's a 2 year deal for $11 million, according to Jon Heyman. I would've been ok with that. Sad that the Pirates got him.
  9. Scooter Gennett could be that option in a few years.
  10. Well, Barmes is going to Pittsburgh. Plan officially crushed.
  11. With Barmes gone we are one step closer to another season of Betancourt. Sigh. I just don't think Melvin will pay for Reyes, Rollins, or Furcal.
  12. I saw this on twitter. I hope it's true. Barmes is a nice, cheap upgrade over Yuni. He'll be a delight to watch defensively.
  13. Gindl will replace Hart in RF. There's not much doubt about that anymore. The only question is when.
  14. Yeah, I'm a big fan of Gindl. I think he'll be making an impact at the major league level, possibly by late 2012.
  15. http://www.mlbtraderumors...t&utm_medium=twitter Looks like Gindl, Wheeler, Manzanillo, and Kjeldgaard were added to the 40-man today to protect them from the Rule 5. I'm kind of surprised Dan Meadows wasn't protected. Also surprised that Kjeldgaard was added. The other 3 I expected.

  17. Yeah, Yount only came back to help Sveum out in Milwaukee because it was a short-term thing. I don't ever see him being a full-time coach again. And if he by some chance did, it would be for the Brewers or D'Backs again.
  18. I still think The Rock might just turn on Cena. Give him a Rock Bottom and walk out. Or they could go with the less predictable thing and have Cena walk out on Rock.
  19. I really enjoyed the entire Orton heel era. There was Rated RKO when he teamed with Edge, and Legacy was pretty good with Rhodes and DiBiase. I enjoyed the 2009 Royal Rumble where he and Legacy just dominated the whole thing and he ended up winning. It was something new for a change in the Rumble match. I also enjoyed when he won the WWE Title 2 separate times at No Mercy 2007. Had two outstanding matches with HHH. His feud with DX was good, as was his feud with Shawn Michaels. I was just a fan of his character during that whole era. He's still kind of goes crazy at times, but it's not like when he was a heel. He enjoyed the legend killer era too. Just wouldn't hold anything back, and would punt every legend in the head that he came across with no remorse. Now they are just trying to turn him into another Cena. Just browse through his wikipedia page and you'll get a breakdown of his feuds during that period.
  20. I agree with you. It's really obvious that the whole Cena/Rock teaming up thing is just to get PPV buys and TV ratings. Everyone will want to see The Rock in the ring again. I am in that boat myself, so I can't say that upsets me much. Ziggler is definitely a star. He doesn't need Vickie watering him down. I think he should be in line for a much bigger push. I also love the Mark Henry heel character. They should've built him this way a long time ago, and in the main event picture. I think Big Show could obviously play the same role if he was heel. I like something different like this in the main event and title picture. I really hate the boring heels that get by with stupid managers like Vickie. I also want the old, ruthless, heel Randy Orton back. Not this stupid babyface character he's been playing. I also have no idea why they are using Mason Ryan as a face, it makes absolutely no sense at all. Guys like him are only credible as heels. I would also like to see Cody Rhodes get a bigger push. I think he's ready for it.
  21. The Brewers were rumored to have interest in Francisco. I think it's too early to tell how much money will be available to spend on the pen though. If there is some money out there Francisco, or someone else could be a target. If not, it might just be Saito and in-house options. Hawkins is also a possibility to be re-signed, but he'll be more expensive than Saito. Kintzler is an intriguing in-house option if he can bounce back from injury.
  22. http://espn.go.com/espn/p...res-orioles-mets-marlins Looks like the Mets have also updated their uniforms, and the Padres as well, but that was older news. The Blue Jays will be going back to something similar to the old logo tomorrow.
  23. I would like to see all of these guys extended. Gotta hold onto the pitching. Although I think it's unnecessary to extend Axford at this point.
  24. Wouldn't be surprised to see Fielder and Counsell, as well as other Brewers free agents flock towards Chicago if Sveum becomes manager there. He'll lobby for them I'm sure. Sveum was seen with Counsell tonight.
  25. I saw on ESPN today that the rumored offer is 9 years $225 million, as someone stated that they heard before.
