  1. No-shows still count toward paid attendance. The only explanation IMO is complimentary tickets and seats taken out for media (which I didn't notice anywhere)
  2. The long line to get in was likely because the doors to the stadium opened at 3:30. I got to the lots at 2:15 and was about a third of the way back in the Giants lot off of Bluemound Road. I had a friend coming to meet me who planned to park on the street and walk down, but he got into the area at about 3:15 and found no street parking within well over a mile.
  3. Plus, the roof will likely be closed again, so the only shadows they might have to put up with would have to shine in through the big windows above the terrace level. Even for 1:00 games, those shadows don't make it onto the field until late in the game. So even if it is sunny, shadows will not affect play. I like the way you think, though, NYChez.
  4. $25 makes sense, because I think that's what all terrace reserved and Bernie's Terrace are for the first round. If they were going to sell them at $25 each, though, they may as well have sold them with all the other tickets they released.
  5. Anyone know anything about whether or not they are selling Uecker seats for the playoff games? I know that for Opening Day the Brewers auctioned them off on their website, but I haven't seen anything like that on their website lately. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough. But if they are selling the Ueckers you have to figure that line will be 106 long by about noon at the latest.
  6. That article raises one big question for me: what exactly do they mean by ticket-holding fans? Walker makes it sound like only fans with tickets to the game will be allowed in. But, I read an article about the rumors of doing that for opening day in which one of the guys in the Brewers' front office basically said that wasn't practical, because what do you do for the guy who says he's meeting his buddy who has the tickets or for the guy who has yet to pick tickets up at will call? Or what do you do for anyone who may have bought a parking pass already without having tickets? This makes me kind of think that the article means only fans with a parking pass will be allowed in the lots... that's waht it may mean by "ticket-holding fans." But then, why would they even bother listing the prices. Also, would they oversell the lot parking so that even some people with passes get sent to State Fair? In any case, I have a hard time believing that they will be checking game tickets when allowing people into the parking lots.
  7. yeah, if the parking attendants are ready they aren't just going to sit there with a line of cars on Bluemound Road. On Opening Day I got into the lots at about 9:45 when the gates weren't supposed to open until 10 and I was in about the 8th row back in the Giants Lot. That said, if the lots are supposed to open 4 hours early instead of the normal 3, I wouldn't bet on them letting you in too much earlier than this. Patrick - I believe the gates will open 2 hours before game time, so 3:30. I haven't checked on this but they opened up the gates early for all the Cubs games, so I would assume that for this game they would open 2 hours early as well.
  8. Looks like the game 4 is Sunday at noon if necessary. Game 5 would be Tuesday at 5 pm. http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/mlb/schedule/ps.jsp
  9. I'm sure they still have tickets left just like they did for opening day. For that, they sent like a third chance email to pretty much everyone who entered the lottery with a password to buy tickets (sinlge seats and SRO mostly). With 220,000 people in this lottery, though, it's kind of doubtful they will do that. They may select X people yet to have the chance to buy whatever singles/SRO are left as of Thursday or Friday. Personally, to get tickets I would hold out hope that this may happen yet. If not, I'd head down to the game early on Saturday. Go to the ticket window and ask if any tickets are available. Some may open up depending on what MLB uses. (You may want to even consider calling at 9 am Saturday morning when the box office opens to see if this is the case.) If that doesn't work, head over to the ticket resale zone, which is along the first base side of Helfaer Field. My guess is that tickets will go for $100+ each for the terrace level, maybe a little cheaper for single seats and SRO. What I found on Opening Day was that club tickets were going for face value and SRO tickets were going for $30 each. So, prices may not be too bad. One thing to keep in mind is that everyone who really wants to go is buying tickets now - prices usually come down a little by game day. If the prices in the resale zone are out of your range, try to find someone who isn't a scalper and has an extra ticket or two.
  10. I refuse to give up on this team, and I will stick with them to the end. Is it disappointing to see how they have palyed quite pathetically and thrown away a sizeable lead over the past two weeks? Absolutely. But I will not give up. Half of me wants to suggest that everyone who's waffling suck it up and stay with this team to the end. The other half of me wants to say if you don't want to stick with this team through the tough times and want to "jump off the bandwagon," then so be it.
  11. I have no problem with booing bad performance. I just hate to hear the boos before the player/team starts playing (such as when Gagne enters and some fans immediately stand up and start booing) or while the team is still on the field. IMO that is in no way going to help this team get their composure/confidence back. However, I have no problem booing a team for bad play when the inning ends.
  12. When the Indians and Angels played here in April of 2007, it was the same situation. The Indians chose to use the visitors' dugout. I think I heard that it was because the manager's office, video room, and some other private room were locked in the home locker room, or something like that.
  13. This wasn't me personally, but I heard that someone saw C.C. Sabathia shopping at Toys R Us in Brookfield about a month ago. These people then ran over to the Brewers' Clubhouse store at Brookfield Square to get a couple 8x10's and they got back in time to have him sign them. Apparently C.C.'s wife was pretty amused. Also, I heard from a friend that Carlos Villanueva goes to Brookfield Square a lot.
  14. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/schedule/ps.jsp it's just a general schedule, but something
  15. Lottery registration starts tomorrow (Sept 5th) at noon and runs until Sept. 17th at noon.
  16. As a full season ticket holder with terrace reserved seats, these are my prices: $5/ticket for tie-breaker $20/ticket for NLDS $45/ticket for NLCS $155/ticket for WS With possibilities of 3 home games in NLDS, 4 in NLCS, 3 in WS, total price is $710/ticket
  17. Don't take Blue Mound Road into games. I always head east on Wisconsin, then turn right onto Blue Mound right after crossing the bridge over hwy 41. There is much less traffic this way - on Opening Day, I cut a 1/2 mile line of bumber to bumer traffic down to less than a block this way. As far as the food/drink carry-in rule is concerned, this really would not make me happy if they changed the rules. I will make it to 50 or so games this year. I have spent a grand total of about $20 at Miller Park on food and drink so far this year. If I bought a SINGLE BRAT at every game I went to, I would spend over $200 on food. If I bought a brat and a soda, I would spend over $400 on concessions - more than I spent on my season tickets this year. I eat before a game when I can, but when you go to 50 games a year there are undoubtedly times when it just isn't convenient to eat beforehand. This is where the carry-in policy really helps me. And it's more than 3 hours I would have to go without food - once you factor in drive time, walking to the ballpark from where I park, and sometimes getting there a little early, it's more like a 4.5-5 hour commitment for me.
  18. Overall I like interleague play. I like playing some of the AL teams and I like to see us use the DH onced in a while. I also like the fact that you only play a few interleague games per year, making these series like the one against Boston even more "special." The one problem with that, though, is that obviously there will be a little imbalance between different teams schedules. I would also maybe like to see using the DH for interleague play in the NL parks and the pitcher hitting in AL parks. The only problem I see with that is that it could potentially take the home-field advantage away from the home team. So I definitely would not want to see it in the WS, but during the season it wouldn't bother me.
  19. I completely agree with you hawing. There are a lot of people out there who call him an idiot whenever he makes a sensible decision that doesn't work, or sometimes even when his moves do work out. But I have no problem saying that he may not be leading this team to play to its full potential, and that's the main thing that I think may lead to him not being our manager for much longer.
