  1. Still glad they won. I'm just a fan, I know they aren't winning the Super Bowl but I still hope they squeak into the playoffs and I'd always prefer to see a win.
  2. Yep, 2-3 passes and a spike or timeout. I'm content if a 50 yarder is your opportunity. I always prefer when teams err on the side of running off the time rather than giving Dallas 80 seconds to get a winning FG. I would have ran the ball on 3rd and 1 though.
  3. I'm in the minority that actually likes that sequence. Either you get the win or go to OT. I like milking all the time off. They had pkenty of time to get a fg had they converted.
  4. If you just want to make the playoffs that's still a possibility. A small one but it is one.
  5. Well before today it has been clear watching Watson that he has crazy athleticism. When he gets going he looks like he's on a different level than everyone on the field. Just hasn't been able to stay on the field or catch. It's nice to see him put it together a little. Easy to see why they wanted him, and it's not his fault they made him their best receiver in year one.
  6. I think Watson will be very good player. It's been a disappointing year for him but this isn't really uncommon. I know this team hasn't been great to watch but I don't really think this is a clean house situation. They have some really nice players. Just a combination of too raw in spots and too injured in others. This year feels more like 2008 than 2005. It's not like they're getting embarrassed by 3 scores a game, but they're just not quite a winning team. I think they could be decent a soon as next year with a little luck. At least they haven't quit, I'll give them that.
  7. If we had opted for a ball control offense to start the season I genuinely believe we would have been an easy playoff team. I think we have too many weaknesses to contend, but if we had been honest about the skill group from the start, IMO we could have won more games than we have.
  8. Doozie of a game. Bucks grab one with the entire Big 3 out. Down by 1 at the end of regulation after a "game-winning 3" but they draw a foul with .6 left and get to OT. Pull it out in 2OT, Carter and Beauchamp with big games.
  9. Depends on your definition of "much." A team that thinks it is a QB away would happily take Aaron Rodgers and find a way to pay him. The problem is there aren't a lot of teams that don't either have a QB or who they think is a QB soon. But I highly doubt Rodgers's supposed "decline" would be the reason teams wouldn't take him. He just won two MVPs and is throwing to nobody behind a battered OL. He's not playing well but I'm betting the consensus would be to give him a mulligan. He is old but I haven't seen the decline in skills, same thing I was saying in 2018. He can still run unbelievably well for his age. He can still throw. They suck but he still makes a "wow" play every week. He's just playing desperate a lot, and timing is off, which leads to slop and forcing stuff. If multiple teams were willing to play the shell of Peyton Manning to stand around and toss ducks, there's no way somebody wouldn't take on Rodgers.
  10. Is it really "lacking direction" or is it the realistic consequence of trying to build a future while simultaneously paying the 40 y/o QB $50 million?
  11. This is all classic 20/20. I didn't hear any significant number of people bemoaning AJ Dillon until this crappy season. Most people liked the versatility at the position until this month. The truth is the Packers built two championship quality teams (quickly, on the heels of looking very bad in 2018) and didn't finish the job and it really had very little or nothing to do with the GM everyone suddenly wants to fire. The guys on the field didn't get it done the last two seasons. That was the window with their aging QB. There were holes on the roster, there always are on any team, and the GM is always lightning rod there. But they were every bit of "good enough" to get another one and blew it. In particular, last year when the field was soft and they showed all year they were better than the contenders. When you load up like they did that rocket has to come back to Earth and it is this year. Last year might go down as worse than 2014 for me personally. I thought they had the best team. Them's the breaks I guess.
  12. Safe. But the seat will be hotter going into next season than you'd think from a coach who went 39-10 in three years. Justifiably so. Zero chance he's canned. If they go into next season with some kind of retooling, are expected to win and suck again, then I think he's in real jeopardy.
  13. I don't think AJ Dillon is any kind of black eye or even worth regretting. Most teams have two capable RBs and I don't think that "we have Aaron Jones so we can't draft a RB" is particularly sound thinking. I also didn't have an issue with Love. I do have an issue with the fact that he is still on the roster years later and after extending Rodgers. They do seem to have problems grasping sunken costs. When Plan A doesn't pan out it's ok to change gears and go with Plan B, you don't have to wait for Plan M to be your only option.
  14. I just have to pop in and mention that the phrase "have your cake and eat it too" refers to wanting to retain the cake but also eat it, i.e. something that can't be done.
  15. He'll never shoot well enough to be people's consensus top 2. I don't think he'll move much from where he'd be now, seeing as he'll statistically crush a whole bunch of categories. I'm guessing he'll be on the bottom of most top 5s and have 3 championships...maybe more if he goes chasing rings after Milwaukee.
  16. Agree and I think Rodgers would be just fine playing on a decent offense. I'm not saying he's playing well but the whole thing is just a dumpster fire right now, I don't think it matters who they have playing QB. He knows they stink. It just hasn't been going their way and it got too out of hand too fast. As a fan I hope Rodgers get one more season here. It would really stink if they went out like this. Reminds me a bit of the 05 team and everyone convinced Favre was retiring then.
  17. I think the Packers will finish 5-12. I don't know who they'll beat but I think they have a lot of losing left to do. The one thing I want out of this season is for Mike McCarthy to become the first coach to win Super Bowls with two teams. Would be absolutely perfect.
  18. They didn't even need to score there either. They're always trying to go for this big moment despite zero big time players.
  19. We had timeouts and plenty of time to dink it down the field from the 17. I don't get the incessant chucking there at all.
  20. Well, any pathetic gasp left in the season is this drive right here.
  21. Yeah I don't know. Rodgers will lose his mind if they draft a QB top 10. I know nobody cares but he is the guy they're paying so I don't know how all those moving parts go together. Then there's Love whose value plummets to nothing if it isn't there already. It's just a mess and Rodgers has them hostage basically. The easiest thing would be him retiring in January but I don't think he's going to do that. I don't know if it's even possible to trade him either. A lot of things are probably gonna happen and it will be interesting, maybe even fun to watch.
  22. Not a good throw but I don't know why Watkins is even on this team.
  23. They don't even need to be first to be faced with the reality of having a franchise QB in their lap based on who's coming out. I've thought of that myself though. Depends what their internal plans are with Love, I think. It'll be an interesting scenario for sure.
  24. Probably the least of their issues but I don't get the 2pt that early in the game when you have to score again to win anyway. I could actually get it more if it were 6-7 because it's totally feasible you don't score again.
