  1. This isn't Rodgers. Favre needed money for legal fees.
  2. The most incredible thing about this season is that this team was 3-1.
  3. Yeah. Could have traded Jones for a 4th and turned that into our next 3rd string blocking TE.
  4. I'd say we should tank but I don't think we need to "tank."
  5. When you think about it, you can really trace the downfall of the Nets back to losing to the Bucks in the playoffs.
  6. There will probably be at least one 9-8 wild card team in the NFC playoffs at No. 7 and they might be worse. The NFC south champion could be under .500. That's all just to say the Packers could flop in as a pretty bad looking team if none of those bubble teams save themselves. It's not the kind of year where an 11-win team will miss out. It would be cool if the entire NFC East made it though, which is possible right now anyway.
  7. Came to post this. He sucks. He's a shell of the player he was in Philly though I'm not sure how. He's Charmin soft now and isn't even valuable defensively. Looked like he was legitimately scared of Giannis.
  8. I don't know if I buy that in regards to Rodgers. The cap gymnastics aside I think he would available for about 2 seconds if it were just as simple as any team wanting him. The skill group is just awful right now. Doubs and Watson may be fine players but the norm for the rookie WRs is to diddle around 400 yards and endure lots of growing pains. They are asking those two to be the best on the team. The contingency plan needed to be more like OBJ or that quality and less like Sammy Watkins and Cobb. It's just a bad, bad group right now that I think anyone would have problems with. Combined with the injuries on the OL and it's just a recipe for the disaster we're witnessing. All that said... They're in play for a 7th spot in the NFC. For now anyway. The upcoming schedule could change all that. But if they can regroup and get something out of what they have, might be able to finish respectably. Outlook not so good. Idk. Trying to be a fan and see some way they get back into this.
  9. The biggest plus of the season so far is Lopez. I don't know if it's the rest or something, but I went from thinking he was cooked to thinking he is a huge piece this year.
  10. Stopping the run isn't really that big of a deal anymore. Collinsworth mentioned this at one point. Buffalo didn't exactly stop the run either. Most teams have prioritized the secondary and a decent pass rush and will basically allow teams to rush for 4-6 yards a play. In today's game you'll eventually falter doing that with a fumble, a hold, etc. and if you can't pass your way out of that then it's a problem. As long as you aren't consistently giving up 8+ runs and getting gashed for 20s, it doesn't matter the way it used to. Packers definitely have a bad team this year but depending on what they want to do I think it could be similar to last time where they could rally the following season with a few prudent moves. There's a lot of talent, but just massive holes in important spots. I'm really interested to see what happens there. No idea what Rodgers is thinking but can't imagine he'd be excited to play here next year.
  11. Yes and no. Amari Rodgers was part of that plan and he is awful, so that is on Gute. MVS was no superstar but I'm not sure they could really afford to lose him after losing Adams. And the Adams extension talks had stalled for a while so it was definitely a reality that he was going to want out, fair to put it on Gute. I'm glad they didn't sign Adams personally. They'd probably be decent right now but it's another huge contract for an aging vet. WR is a problem. I don't think it's the only problem. Pick a spot on the team besides Aaron Jones and it's basically a problem right now.
  12. The box score is bizarre. Jones with 130 yards and an 8 yard average, Dillon averaging over 5 yards. Rodgers has 82 yards and is 12/16. It feels like they could have given themselves a CHANCE just by committing to 45 carries. At this point it was worth a try.
  13. Re: Love They are in a weird position. If they're 3-6 the obvious choice is to get Love some time but that's basically telling Rodgers his career is over or he's playing somewhere else. Maybe that is where they are but it's still sort of weird if he thinks he's playing here next year...I don't know how to explain my point but it's like he's sort of got them hostage at this point.
  14. I hope not, doesn't seem fair to toss him in against the best defense in the league behind a trash OL and trash WRs and I don't want to read all the hot takes about how he "doesn't have it" when Rodgers can't do anything either.
  15. We were overdue to stink, but we stink.
  16. You might think Buffalo left too much time on the clock but they probably want to score again.
  17. There was a glimmer of hope after that time-consuming TD drive where I thought our defense got a rest and there would be a rally, but instead we put up all the resistance of a cupcake and I'm probably heading to bed at half.
  18. Weird post but it was a great throw. No chance for the defender and only his guy had a shot to make a play. Someone finally did.
  19. I'm a lot more mellow than most hardcore fans and I rarely call for firings and cuts, but Amari Rodgers is one of the most useless players I've seen. I've a hard time believing he's better than some hungry guy off the practice squad.
  20. I don't think firing our DC would salvage this. On the bright side, we may be able to draft a potential franchise QB in April to either compete with Love or overtake him if we aren't believers. But that option gets more realistic every week.
  21. I was referring to TB NFCCG which was included in your criticism of Rodgers. He played a very good, if imperfect game. Yes they were stopped at the end. They also went against his wishes and kicked a FG on 4th down (a valid decision imo but not what he wanted). I don't think it is fair to pin that loss on him, just my opinion on that game/season. Personally, I think he has been the victim of some pretty cruel rotten luck in the playoff more so than his own shortcoming, roster construction, etc. They have been right there a bunch of times. It's just bounced the other way more than all of us would have wished. Bostick, losing your AP safety to a career-ending injury the year after winning the SB, a tough game with TB, being knocked off on a blocked punt to watch a team you trounced late in the year win the SB. It's been rough. History won't be kind to Rodgers in the postseason. Some criticism is always fair; I think he will take a larger portion of blame than he deserves is all.
  22. Uh, yeah? I am more referring to the growing contingent of fans that are less convinced of his brilliance than they used to be and are OK with him heading for the exit.
