  1. Would Leipold want the job? I'm inclined to think yes, based on everything I said above. But I don't think it would be crazy for him to think he has a pretty good thing going at Kansas and would be taking a bit of a risk. I'm sure B10 is considered a jump up and he'd make more immediately but they did pay him a lot of money to stick around and it seems to be going really well. He'd been under immense pressure to get WI going again whereas he seems to be royalty at Kansas.
  2. First name I thought of is Lance Leipold. Guy has done nothing but win at every single level. Dominated at Whitewater, moved to UB and takes it from nowhere to bowl games. Goes to Kansas and has them go from a joke to ranked in the top 25 in two years. From WI and likely a dream job for him - If he wants it. Has a history recruiting at a disadvantage and developing QBs. Definitely had the "personality." Seems too perfect but I'm not a huge CFB guy.
  3. I don't think Tampa is all that. I had a gut feeling before the season that Brady was making a mistake unretiring. No real reason though. Seems like he's incapable of quitting and will eventually have to via a bad season. I won't be shocked if they're contending again but you'd think eventually he'll have a cliff season. I think the NFC will eventually be the Rams, Eagles and Packers, maybe the Cowboys but I haven't discerned what exactly they are or who their QB will be. They haven't really played anybody but they're 3-0 with a backup QB.
  4. I don't think I would say anyone fits that billing other than Buffalo. Every other 3-1 team has major questions. The Eagles will eventually have to throw a lot to win a game. The Vikings have been a combination of lucky and playing nobody. Dallas is getting by against cupcakes with a backup QB. I dunno. I just don't think anyone looks very juggernauty.
  5. I still think they were the best team in the league last year and they couldn't win a game. I'm ok with coming under the radar this year.
  6. When they're jockeying for some seed in January nobody will remember how pathetic this game was. That's all I'm saying as far as being concerned. Make the playoffs and being playing well at that time is all you can hope for. Even that hasn't gone super well for us, lol.
  7. If he misses this he should out of the league tomorrow. Literally no purpose to have him if he can't do this.
  8. I won't argue that the Packers waste timeouts. Just that I don't think it's as simple as "if we had that timeout we'd have a minute to score". It changes how BB plays the final drive.
  9. I don't think those were really comparable situations.
  10. I've seen enough Belichick to know that he we will almost always go for the knockout if it's at all plausible or at least take the aggressive course. I don't think he'd run up the gut 3x if we had 2 timeouts, punt out of his end zone and give Rodgers a minute from the 50. All conjecture but I think he'd line up to run on 2nd down and pass.
  11. Lol. I don't have words. Quite a Wisconsin weekend.
  12. For the record I hated the challenge but BB's conservative approach was likely because we only had 1 timeout.
  13. If we'd had 2 timeouts, they wouldn't have done 3 straight runs. They'd likely have passed at least one time and tried to score knowing they couldn't run it out and Rodgers would get the ball back. He probably played it that way hoping Rodgers wouldn't get the ball again and they'd win in OT.
  14. He was upset about the play clock getting a full reset on an incomplete pass. Bizarre game though.
  15. Bizarre challenge imo. I'd also have gone for it, but that's understandable and well played by the ST. I don't really care how a team "looks" in October though. Can't believe any Packers fans care about the team playing great in the regular season. It's done absolutely nothing for us. Just make the playoffs and worry about the rest later.
  16. Dropping 3/4 to Marlins with the finale in 12 on a Hiura strikeout is extremely 2022. It's perfect, honestly.
  17. Unenjoyable is exactly right. There was a team in 2012 I think that finished barely over .500, but it was at least fun to watch that team hit.
  18. I don't think that's true. They are just an entirely boom or bust offense. They have a decent record against winning teams. Conversely when they go into offensive dryspells they can get embarrassed by the worst teams in baseball because they literally can't score.
  19. I'm not too concerned. They've had extended lulls like this before and 12 eventually figures it out most of the time. I think they'll win today by double digits and at some point later in the year develop a functioning offense.
  20. This group needs to go away. It's been a good run lately as a fan and even this year, they're around 10 over .500 which for most of my life would have been a godsend. But they're miserable to watch. They could be sitting OK right now without choking two games away to Miami in the final week of the year. Even if they win they need to sweep and see Philly drop 2. It's fine, I'll be back in the spring...but this year's team gives me ZERO "what could have been" feeling. It's been very consistent watching how they lose. They are who we thought they were. This is the appropriate ending.
  21. Lol, 23 homers and hitting .270 would be a blessing.
  22. Horrendous throw. Shades of Matt Ryan 2010 divisional.
  23. Well, you can't say they've been inconsistent. This is exactly how we've lost all year. It does feel like a very fitting end.
  24. Stranded bases loaded certainly looms large even if they were just sitting 3-4 right now and not down 2. But like I said today when the Cubs won, it only matters if you're ahead of PHL on the last day. That is still very much in play. I thought we had to go 7-2 in the final 9 but 6-3 might do it.
  25. That was oddly predictable as soon as I saw him coming up. Ex-Brewer having terrible season, yeah, checks out. Oh well. Hopefully we win tomorrow if we can't pull this out and Philly drops one.
