  1. No store near me is enforcing it. They have the signs on the door but 75% are not wearing them. Auto Zone, Walmart, any gas station, I just do not see the masks around here anymore.
  2. I read an article last week, want to say from NYT but I can't find it, that detailed the data not supporting the spike in WI being caused by campuses. The largest spikes weren't college aged people. I can't find the article though.. Everything feels pointless to me. It is too late for us to mask and isolate this away. It's simply not going to happen. 4/10 think it's fake and it's become as divisive as abortion.
  3. Rodgers is getting rid of the ball much faster than the last several years. One of the bonuses of that means defenders respect that short game and can be a half step slow when a WR cuts and goes downfield instead. If they are accustomed to Rodgers looking for something down field, they will lean toward defending a longer pass. But this year they've had to respect passes out of the backfield and quick hits 1-2 seconds after the snap.
  4. There is not much incentive to watch MLB/NBA games not involving your favorite team unless it's an exceptionally good series/you are a diehard fan of the sport. I watched the GS-CLE series that went 7 games but LeBron-AD vs. Miami doesn't do anything for me. The NFL owes a lot to fantasy football. I don't personally watch non-Packers games, but there was a 10-year period or so when I did and it was pretty much solely due to fantasy football. People play other fantasy sports but they don't come close what football has.
  5. I'm with you. That's the best test of the offense. Even their best teams have had big issues as soon as a good defense gets overly physical. I would never describe a McCarthy offense as tough. This one might have the running game to offset it. The good news is that the defenses in the NFC are not particularly tough. At this point the Packers are my clear lead horse in the NFC. I think they would be tested by Seattle but are a more well-rounded team. Their next opponent should be a good one though. I believe it's Tampa, a team with great defensive speed and one that for whatever reason Rodgers has had a lot of trouble with in his career, probably coincidentally.
  6. It was nice to see the Packers be innovative when guys go down rather than plugging in guys, doing the same thing and saying "next man up"
  7. Hot take- I think they knowingly took three guys that they knew wouldn’t contribute much this year but would dominate next year. I've had this thought myself. You can't pay everyone.
  8. Injuries aren't happening at a disproportionate rate. We didn't have a preseason where 10 notable guys went on IR. That's the only difference. SF got hit hard. Boo hoo. My point was that injuries occur, NFL coaches grow wise to schemes, there are any number of reasons sustained success doesn't happen. So when teams get anointed to do so and people say things like the Packers "didn't close the gap with SF" I just don't take it very seriously because they don't need to close a gap with one team. They just need to develop and improve and the chaos of things will shake up who the contenders are. And yes, KC is probably set up, because they have the stud QB. That is a much better indicator of sustainable success in the NFL as opposed to a good defense, which is far harder to sustain over a long period.
  9. If anything happens to this season it's going to really suck because this offense may be as good as it's ever been.
  10. I've heard the injury spiel before. They're as much a part of the game anything else. It is one Vikings fans' favorite tropes. They are probably the single biggest reason these pre-emptive dynasties don't come to fruition. I don't know why you're bringing them up like they negate what I said. They are precisely the reason I dislike the "this team is set up for X years" statements. They happen all the time. Some of those injured players will never be as good again. It happens to everybody.
  11. Not sure how far behind Dan Quinn is if the Packers win tonight.
  12. Who was saying that? The NFC West is possibly the most competitive division in the NFL. Rams, 49'ers, Seahawks are all set up to be highly competitive for years. And Kyler certainly makes the Cardinals looks like they're a competent defense away from making it a 4 way race. There is at least one poster on this very page who was quite adamant that the Packers had done nothing to "close the gap" with SF. Seattle is set up to compete because they have Russ. A stud QB like that is much more assurance that you'll be at least good for a long time than a dominant defense. There is way less consistency if your defense is the primary reason you're good. I don't think Jimmy is that kind of generational talent. He could reasonably be playing somewhere else in a few years. Probably not, but wouldn't be that shocking.
  13. I agree but lets be fair they lost their qb, top 2 rbs, top 2 wrs, and their all pro TE was out for a while and his backup got hurt. On defense they two great defensive lineman and have two others hurt. One of their top cbs is also hurt. I dont know a single team that could not be seriously affected. I actually think how competitive their team has been is a testament to why people said this team is set up to dominate for 4-6 years. Imagine what the Packers would look like with similar injuries. All regular things that happen all the time. You are one blown knee from going 13-3 to 9-7 or 6-10 if it happens to the wrong guy or guys. There is too much volatility in the NFL year to year. Nobody has really lived up to that "they're set up" stuff besides New England.
  14. Less of an issue for kids coming in now. They largely abandoned Twitter/FB/etc. for encrypted messaging apps. The privacy pendulum is going back the other way.
  15. The 49ers are the latest example of why you should never buy anyone's spiel when they're telling you a team is "set up to dominate for 4-6 years." Their season is in no way over, but we had people talking like they didn't even have to play the regular season. It almost never works out that way.
  16. He's probably fine but with the bye next week the smart play is to give him the extra cushion. Still think they'll be fine and win fairly easily. I think Rodgers will have a monster game tonight.
  17. I think the list of places he'd be willing to play is very short but that's just my guess. The west coast would work but outside of that I don't think he wants to go play in Toronto. And the list of those teams that would take him or need him is even shorter.
  18. You're not the only one saying it though. There are few places that was suggested, but the more recent updates seem to have changed to more of a 4-6 weeks thing.
  19. Where is the official report Lazard is actually out for the year? I just see "indefinitely" and "at least a month." It seems, at least right now, that he could be back down the road.
  20. They won the Super Bowl in Rodgers 3rd year as a starter and scored 600 points 10 years ago...Of course there are years where things go up and down, they did release Rivera and Whale and replace them with 2 bums, they were pretending Marshall Newhouse could play LT for a while but for the most part the Packers have had league average or good OL without using many high picks or signing them in FA. Rodgers getting sacked has been as much his fault as anything else since his first snap. He is very good running around and throwing on the move, you take the bad with the very good. Lang, Sitton, Bakhtiari, Clifton, Tauscher, Wells, Linsley, I am probably forgetting some, have all reached a Pro Bowl. The highest pick among them I believe is Clifton. Several were 7 rounders and most were mid round guys. Some of that is the nature of OL but the Packers have done a better job replenishing the OL than any position on the roster. And also seem to know exactly when to NOT re-sign them.
  21. The Packers have been churning out OL for 30 years. It's remarkable how easy they have made it look for the most part.
  22. I'm out. Hope I wake up to a comeback. I'm more than ready to say farewell to this version of the Brewers. They just weren't enjoyable to watch. There have been way worse teams that piqued my interest a lot more. This was just such a dud. Blech.
