  1. We'd have to score a run for anything to cost us a game. This offense was painful to watch this year. I won't miss it. Not sure how it's going to get any better but half this offense can go.
  2. Schlesinger is approaching 60. He may not want to do this a whole lot longer.
  3. When I said fatigue I just meant that I think a lot of people know they're doing stuff that probably isn't what the CDC would tell them to do but they are tired of living scared. If your kid is in sports right now you are likely in that category. There has to be some acceptance that some of us need to move on to some degree to stay sane. There is a difference between that and going to a bar to pack in like sardines with a bunch of sweaty drunk strangers and scream in their ear all night. I think we can have some middleground.
  4. I think it has a lot more to do with fatigue than stupidity. People don't panic for 7 months, they adapt. Everyone knows 3-degree days are on the horizon and they want to get out while they can.
  5. I'm still not sure the Packers have the talent at the skill positions to offset a REALLY good defense. There's Adams but the rest of those guys just don't strike me as difference makers in a repeat of the NFC Championship game. Maybe Lazard has really stepped it up. A very good defense + power running has always seem to be a problem for even very good Packers teams. It would be nice to get SF at home for once though.
  6. I'll agree on stopping the Hill stuff, etc., but I think the rest is a bit too forgiving. Part of that is again the poor game plan of the saints, who went 2 to 1 pass to run vs. a poor run defense and with an aging QB. I'm a bit concerned that if a team will commit -- totally commit to running the ball on us, like the 49ers did in the NFC Championship Game, we won't be able to stop it. However that's hopefully where the big improvement in offense will pay off this year and we can take a team out of a game plan like that. This is where any concern should be IMO. Seattle can certainly beat the Packers but I don't think they can stop the Packers from scoring. Their o-line still isn't very good and we have the guys to get to Wilson. SF is a different story. If they don't have to pass, they won't. I'm glad the Packers have to play them again in the regular season.
  7. The Brewers are still in the playoffs. Much stranger things have happened in baseball than the Dodgers dropping 2/3 to a mediocre team. We shouldn't be going into Game 1 feeling anything other than excitement. We would have killed for an 81-81 wild card team just a few years ago.
  8. Agree, Rodgers looks like old, good Rodgers. Before the year I said I thought he'd still have a late career resurgence, but I didn't think they had the weapons on offense to do it this year. They're stretching the field though, finally. And there's a nice balance of quick release and stuff over the top. The offense looks extremely good.
  9. The Hill fumble was a great play by Smith no doubt, but Hill stuck that ball out for the taking about a half second too long after the fake handoff.
  10. Without the 49-yard run from Kamara the were 19 for 73 rushing. They did a nice job bottling up the cute stuff from Hill and generally weren't getting gashed for 7 and 8 yard gains all night. Personally I'd rather see some containment and a big play here and there vs. just constantly getting hammered. Plus he is a special player that does that sort of thing all year. The defense isn't great right now, but I am OK with that. There just has to be some reason for hope and you have to finish the year better as a unit than you start. If you're top 12ish by the playoffs that may be good enough.
  11. Packers defense came up big. Maybe with a bit of a gift on the Hill gaffe but the drive after was a good stop to make this a lot easier at the end than I was anticipating.
  12. Gotta take the touchdown to go up 10.
  13. If the Packers get out of this game with a win that defensive stand after the field goal was enormous. They had a flawed performance for sure but that was a big stand that kept this from being last guy with ball wins.
  14. 5 of the 11 Yes but one ricocheted off like a bullet hitting steel.
  15. Who bounced off like a pinball? Embarrassing.
  16. I can't believe the Brewers are likely 29-31 tbh. It just feels like they've been more like 20-40.
  17. The tiebreakers are really convoluted and I don't know of a site that easily breaks them down. For example if the Brewers and Giants are both 30-30, they also have the same intradivision record. Then it's intradivision in the last 20 games. If the Brewers win tomorrow they could also finish tie with STL. So I really have no grasp on the Brewers actual chances.
  18. My 6 year old is a 100933. Started at 110,837 in 2014. Pretty sure seats were added in that timespan though. Your spot can also be transferred, so at some point, a nodakfan jr. will get a shot.
  19. I was remote 3x a week before Covid and haven't been in since March. I'm not obligated to return until Jan 4, but it keeps getting pushed back. I doubt I ever go back on a regular basis.
  20. Work is one thing, but that's impossible in school. 1/4 of any class of kids under 10 has runny noses on any given day. You would rack up so many absences and the teacher would be playing catch up with a handful of kids every day of the school year. Someone has to sit at home with those kids too. It's just not possible. Fevers, vomitting, severe cold is one thing. But kids get sniffles and need to keep it moving.
  21. My kids have gone to school with mild coughs/runny noses though both have seasonal allergies just like their parents so if they enforced that they'd never have made it through one day. The fever seems to be the red button symptom. They don't seem to be doing anything about other things besides obvious stuff like puking. I know a few pukers were sent home but that's all I've heard.
  22. Personally I hope the Brewers stay 8th and knock out LAD. I would enjoy that.
