  1. Those weren't grounding. They'll never call grounding if it appears an honest attempt was made to throw the ball to a WR and the hit/restriction on the QB forces the ball well short. I thought it was really clear on both who he was going for. Rodgers gets the benefit of those calls really often.
  2. The Packers are sitting pretty good. They could even lose to the Giants or Redskins, finish 3-3 with a loss the Vikings and 49ers and Minnesota would have to go 5-1. Their loss to the Bears looms large.
  3. Oh well. I'm ok with the Packers having someone in the rear view mirror all year as long as they win it in the end.
  4. Probably a time saver to get multiple shots.
  5. Really a piss poor series of plays there. Coaching is important in this league. And the Cowboys will have a new one next year. Wonder if McCarthy would coach there or if he's still going to think he can hand pick his next job.
  6. Dang. I was really hoping for a little breathing room.
  7. I think Dak is really good. Garrett is on thin ice but a new offense would do wonders for him. He's the least of their problems. Romo was also a great player that took way much heat there, that's life on America's Team.
  8. The Packers barely lost a bunch of games last year. They're winning those games this year, that is really the only difference and usually the only difference between 6-10 and 11-5. Ask most losing team's fans and they'll immediately pick a handful of games that they could've won with a different outcome on one or two plays. All I know is there is no super team this year. As good a year as any to get Rodgers a second title.
  9. Cousins just doesn't scare me. He's capable of being really good at times but he's not a guy I worry about facing. I don't know why, just always how I've felt. I didn't care at all when they signed him.
  10. I think it exists to prevent throwing guys into the end zone, jumping on their back, goofy circus type plays and what not. But they typically won't call it for shoving someone at the 1 yard line type stuff.
  11. Seattle has been eeking out a bunch of crappy wins. Wilson is the MVP but they've been ridiculous, winning on final drives or in OT all year...that just feels like a .500 team that is due for some rebalancing. Their defense isn't good like it once was either. They're obviously a decent team but I wouldn't be really surprised if SF beats them up. If Seattle does win I think it's clear then the NFC is really wide open. I also like the Packers chances to compete with SF. I don't really expect them to win but it's not an offense that should run all over us. It SHOULD be a fun game to watch. SF's schedule is also probably the hardest in the league on the back end. If the Packers do win things are looking really really good.
  12. Assisting a runner is definitely a penalty and has always been very selectively called.
  13. I don't know what to think of Dallas, they sucked a lot last year but came on at the end and looked pretty good. They've looked awful and solid. Minnesota is barely worse than the Packers if at all. I think their defense is better and Cook is amazing but I've never been a huge fan of Cousins. It seems like they should be better than they are. But I don't see a lot of separation between Minn and GB. It might just be Rodgers. Ultimately I think Dallas isn't good enough or at least too inconsistent to go anywhere but they're still explosive enough sometime that I don't really want to play them. A game with Minnesota seems dependent on where it's played.
  14. Seems like two pretty good teams playing each other closely.
  15. It didn't bother me even after the fact. You are at home and up by 4 and get the ball. The downside to getting stuffed wasn't that bad, honestly seems only marginally worse than kicking a FG. If you get it, Carolina is going to the locker room totally deflated. I'd do it again.
  16. The way I see it, why be cautious? At this point if they go get knocked around in the 2nd round of the playoffs what do people have to complain about? 6-8 win predictions were pretty valid. It's like people forget this team hasn't made the playoffs in 3 years. This was not a team that was supposed to push for the NFC title by most realistic perspectives. Winning their division is a successful season. The only team in the NFC that clearly looks better is San Francisco and they play them in 2 weeks.
  17. They were never in real jeopardy of losing that game to a pretty good team better than their record. Held a team 10 pts under their season average. Good game all around, the other guys are trying hard too.
  18. Packers were around 86% for playoffs, I think with this win and LAR losing to Pitt they are awfully close to 100.
  19. You don't know how it would have played out. If they kicked the FG it could have hit the Goodyear blimp and ended everything right there.
  20. No reason not to feel good about that win, Allen has played pretty well all year and the Packers did a lot of good things. Time to root for Dallas.
  21. I think the fact that we don't instantly celebrate touchdowns or game-winning stops says it all. Our Pavlovian response requires to scan for flags and then make sure the replay agrees with what we saw. I can live with the mistakes since replay hasn't eliminated them anyway.
  22. I was honestly 100% calm because it seemed obvious enough it wasn't getting overturned at home. That should've been a moment every Packer fan yelled and jumped in their living room and those stupid verifications suck the emotion out. Instead we have all been conditioned to wait for 6 replays. It absolutely sucks, IMO. You even said you weren't celebrating yet. It shouldn't be that way and was more fun to watch when it wasn't that way. No, my adrenaline wasn't pumping while I waited 5 minutes for them to decide if we won.
  23. And this is the EXACT model for why replay has ruined sports. This should be an absolute endorphin rush thrilling stop and win, but we are all going to sit here calmly and wait for verification that we won. It has removed that element from the game.
  24. This defense might have problems, but they're getting awesome pressure with just their base guys on this last series. If they can close out games doing that they have a chance to go far.
