  1. Allison may not play football again. He's a FA this offseason and I can't see anyone spending a dime on a guy that couldn't get it going with Rodgers. Immensely disappointing because I really thought 2-3 years ago he was the next diamond in the rough, and he looked like it for a while. MVS will get a little more time but not much. Aaron Jones is basically playing WR2 right now. It's absolutely insane that Adams has ONE FEWER YARD than MVS. Several of these guys are getting cut next summer and I envision at least two new WRs.
  2. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if Lazard was soon the #2. He seems to me the only receiver Rodgers trusts other than Adams. The Packers don't have a #2 WR. I would even go as far as saying they don't have a #3. They have Adams and a group of #4s. But I agree, Lazard should be tossed in the lineup because nobody is getting it done.
  3. I'm not sure I even want that though. Tying up that kind of money in such a volatile position is a real big risk for MKE. You could have late-stage Gagne on your hands in 3 years. And that deal would have to be a monster for him to walk away from arb/a year of FA. He holds all the cards now. Doing that made more sense for him before he got Super Two.
  4. I'm ok with trading him but I think people expecting a haul of youngsters in return would be disappointed by what happens. The incremental value and consistency is just not there with RP to the point that somebody would give up a ton for one. Maybe I'm wrong. But it's not the same as trading off Gavin Lutz or something. I'd be happy with one really + prospect or a couple promising guys. Or someone that can play on the MLB team right now.
  5. Email hasn't been sent but if you still have the original one they sent at the time of renewal with playoff info and 2020 renewal benefits, that link now directs to the updated site and has all the 2020 offerings.
  6. I don't think is nearly as doomsday as some are acting like it is. It sucks, but we're probably talking about coming up with $5 million to pay him. They'll find it and I don't think it has serious ripple effects.
  7. The really elaborate stuff probably gets taken by full season holders/corporate accounts that use them for clients and what not. Us plebes get stuck with Bud Selig signed books.
  8. Looks like the real deal is up now. I went for movie night per usual and the Yelich print. More things I want than I can have so I can't say they're doing a bad job.
  9. I actually think that's a pretty decent balance besides the fact that Arcia sucks. Plus you have Thames there. Braun's not an everyday guy obviously so the geezer of the group is really Cain. I'm a bit concerned about him but I'm holding out hope the thumb just lingered all year and maybe he can get it right.
  10. It seems obvious they're only going to overturn calls where the WR gets speared before the ball arrives. The hand fighting and jostling isn't doing it even when it's obvious. If they're going to use that stupid rule, IMO that is the best way to do it. It would be insufferable if they call every PI to the rule book.
  11. Feel like Didi would be wildly popular in Milwaukee.
  12. I could see and might advocate a soft rebuild. Don't see the sense in trading Yelich. A young star on a modest deal still years out from FA, that makes little sense. I think ASB 2021 you cross that bridge depending on how things are going. But that's also why I could see a soft one this year, to pool cash for a run in 2021. Lightning strikes too often to trade a controllable player like Yelich away at this juncture. Really doubt Hader goes either but if the offer is right I'd be fine with it. I'm expecting 2020 to be a lot like 2019. How it unfolded, not how people thought it would before the season.
  13. Technically we're paying Braun like $2mm a year until he's 50 or something in deferred money. Think we're still paying Garza.
  14. Braun has a $4mm buyout. Obviously the Brewers aren't picking up the $20 million, but it seems possible they scrap it and he comes back on a new deal. There is no reason he can't be a veteran bat off the bench and spot starter. He is still good, and wouldn't have a ton of suitors. Of course at his age, he could suck in 2020 and it's an easy decision. I don't think he'd leave to go play in Toronto. I could see him in California but not sure they'd want him.
  15. They might risk that because it's a great way for a team like them to survive. If he's even average they saved $8mm to spend on somebody else. I think this is a play for Grandal but obviously we're going to find out soon. I agree though, I'm not expecting a big time FA 1B.
  16. They could just be pooling money to make a run at Grandal. Especially since he's going to play some 1B it sort of explains not paying for Thames.
  17. Something's in the works. Has to be.
  18. The Span Man is coming to Brew Town! Get that playoff ticket money saved!
  19. Daniels wasn't good last year though, which waters down that excuse a bit. He graded poorly (though not as a pass rusher which is what they haven't really misseD) and missed half the season. There has to be more to it than that. Detroit is paying him to spend lots of quality time with the trainers this year. I think it's schematic and a poor use of his skills.
  20. They should make the playoffs and I would bet on it but I don't think it's as secure as one would think at 7-2. Losses to CAR & SF puts Carolina level with them and SF probably out of reach. Then you still have the Rams, Seahawks, potentially Dallas/Philly. This is all to say the Packers really do need to win their division. I would bet on a 10-6 team missing the NFC playoffs.
  21. Most years there isn't a 7-2 team looking at a Wild Card. I doubt Seattle or San Francisco loses 6 games, so that is one WC that is very likely 11-5 and quite possibly better. Wilson is the MVP right now. Also don't get the "rarely if ever" comment - that is just not accurate. It's happened five times since 2010, sometimes more than one team in a season; it's not that rare. The driver is usually one WC team that's really good and forces 3-4 8-10 win teams to duke it out for one WC spot. That is going to happen this year barring an injury in the West. The defending NFC champ is also 5-3 now. It's still entirely plausible the Packers don't make the playoffs. Especially because they don't even have the benefit of having a cakewalk to a division spot this year.
  22. If that's where we're at, this defense sucks. Looking at the standings today, even at 7-2, the playoffs are not in any way a lock. Seahawks, Vikings, Rams, Panthers all sit as non-division winners at the moment, with 2-3 losses each. Lose to Carolina and it REALLY tightens up. Packers could easily sit 7-4 in a few weeks. McCaffrey is a nightmare. This could be a year where a 10-6 team or two is watching the playoffs.
  23. That defense is probably in the 16-20th range. The offense has not looked good enough to me to go toe-to-toe with the very best defenses, which it has not even faced. It has struggled with average ones. I think whoever called them an 8-8 team that willed itself to 11-5 is pretty accurate. I think most people saw an 8-10 win season in preseason. The line between 8 and 11 can be razor thin and they got a few breaks when they needed them. I just haven't been able to shake feeling like something is "off" with this team and that embarrassment today reinforced it. They really draw a lot of parallels to the '15 team that started 6-0.
  24. I caught that too, little strange.
  25. There isn't more talent. The Smiths are fine players, ok. A healthy Sam Shields before concussion issues is better than either of our starting corners. And we had Woodson, we had Peppers, we had a still very good but lightning rod Clay Matthews. There's not more talent than Capers had after the Super Bowl; that's just not true. There's more talent than the past two seasons. There is a lot of youth and more question marks than most would admit. I think it's really a matter of poor drafting having consequences. They have missed too often with early picks over the years. Guys that really need to be established or ascending players are not contributing anything significant.
