  1. Got the NLDS presale back but not my SSH strip. Really hope that doesn't mean I have to wait until after the World Series.
  2. Don't worry about Nats and Rays because the Cardinals will be winning the World Series.
  3. I remember the Richard Hatch who won the first time and the woman on that season who later had a sex tape. And the old guy Rudy. Actually remember a lot about that inaugural season. Never watched it again though. That was really huge culturally when it came out.
  4. "Just a Bit Outside" is not just from the movie Major League. Uecker has been using this as a catch phrase as a Brewers broadcasting for years before that movie came out. This may be true but it’s Harry Doyle’s quote more than anyone else. Pass. Are we sure about this? Because I thought the same and researched it, but couldn't find anyone mentioning him saying that pre-Major League.
  5. No, says that when you order.
  6. I don't think they're spectacular. I do think they're better than CHI and Minn.
  7. I actually think that was probably one of the hang-ups as to why they didn't use it. It clearly got tossed out there by somebody in their brass.
  8. That name's literally in the video. Uke says it and they make fun of it. I didn't make it up, lol.
  9. Just as good a chance at it being nats, Braves, Rays and yankees at this point I'd prefer that, but the Nationals don't really grab my attention like the Rays do.
  10. Not likely. They play the Giants and Redskins and a whole bunch of 3-2 teams. I doubt the entire division is above .500 at year's end. If they hit 6-1 and don't make the playoffs something went very very wrong. Like a collarbone.
  11. I don't do that either, but you underestimate the number of people who don't care about the game and would struggle to list 3 players. With the roof and always-pleasant climate at the stadium, it basically became a summer-long festival. It's as much a community gathering place as it is a game. You can get in the door for $5 most of the time and then you're just basically at a bar. Look at how crowded the smoking area is. People literally get a ticket to the game and sit on the patio the whole night. Friday's was also very popular whenever it was brutally hot.
  12. It's a division game and the Lions have a very strong defensive line with maybe the best run stuffer in the NFL in Harrison, another monster next to him in Robinson and then two good ends. But I don't see how you can say they're better than anyone we've played other than Denver. I think they're an average team. They've beaten a couple good teams early and blew it vs a really bad team. Last year I think they beat the Pats early while getting blown out by the Jets...and their big addition was Trey Flowers. A nice player, but not a great one. Maybe I'll be proven wrong. I like Galladay, I like Johnson and I've always been a fan of Stafford and thought he could be a really good QB if he had some more talent around him...but I can't see the Packers losing to this team after getting beat twice by them last year...including a 31-0 drubbing. The QB. The Bears don't have an offense and Trubisky sucks. That sounds harsh but he doesn't impress me at all and in a couple seasons they'll wake up from that honeymoon and he'll be backing somebody up in Jacksonville. Teams like that are never a threat to the Packers when they're any good. Same goes for Minnesota, with Cousins who might put up pretty stats but his resume against winning teams speaks for itself. Stafford has had an up and down career but when he's on, he's quite good. Losing this game would be hugely disappointing, but the Lions have been in every game they've played, a very tough loss to KC and an impressive road win @Philadelphia. Their resume to this point is vastly more impressive than either Minnesota or Chicago. Neither of which has anything close to a signature win and the Bears best win is probably a 16-6 win over the Vikings. Five weeks in, the Packers really should win this division. I thought they might be able to do it going 10-6 because I didn't feel like anyone was that good and wasn't a believe at all in the Bears. But now they look like a team that could win 12 games. If Rodgers is still a top QB there is enough talent on this team where they should be able to separate from a mediocre pack.
  13. Just a Bit Outside was probably perfect, tbh. It has everything, local, timeless, a little corny, and a reference to Uke longer after he's gone.
  14. Game 2 and 4 were worse but lacked the finality of 7. As bad as the losses were, I don't think you can honestly say they approach 7 in terms of just wanting to curl into a ball and die. And I really had faith we were going to win 7, especially after 6. Even down 2-1, thought it was going to be an-all time great. The catch was the first time I started to doubt...then the HR I just wanted to die.
  15. There's no debating that, but that '11 team was probably the best team in baseball. It's awful that they couldn't even get out of the NL, especially considering they were up 1-0 in the NLCS. I don't think anyone anticipated two NLCS appearances from 11-18. We seem to turn the corner again faster than we think lately. Hope that continues.
  16. One note on the concourse, what employees are lousy? Genuinely asking. I've never had major issues, but a lot of those stands are manned by volunteer groups who get a cut for their charity, and have never worked a register before.
  17. We'll see. The Bombers stand is awful. Tastes no different to me than sports service dry burger. The tender and tots is the best value you can get at MP, but it is what it is. It's a hard sell for a local joint. You really risk the brand if the quality isn't as good, which it's just not going to be when you have to do that volume at that speed. If it is anything like 1919 that's a huge win. Hardly elite cuisine but about as good as I can expect in the circumstances. That would be a lot better than TGI. I think they'll get this right. They wouldn't hype it up in October if they didn't have big plans. Notice they also said it's being renovated.
  18. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Milwaukee_Brewers_Opening_Day_starting_pitchers Not quite as bad as you might think. We've typically had one good starter. But yeah, a couple years in there are pretty bad. Chacin will probably look as bad as any of those when enough time has passed.
  19. They say that to cover themselves, but usually they are dealing with a tricky situation of not knowing whether a series will come back to town, or if the Brewers are advancing or not. They refunded the tiebreaker really fast, so I am guessing with the one-game playoff and losing it, it will be faster this year, but who knows. I paid the whole 2020 and strip up front, so I have something coming back. I really don't care when, as long as it's before I have to pay the CC company because it would be really annoying to pay them, get the refund, ask them for a refund, etc... It would surprise if it came 15 days after the scheduled NLDS Game 3, but who knows.
  20. It was bad but the context matters. I really had a belief the Brewers were going to get it going in G7 but when Puig hit that bomb I was done. There was a catch they made in the OF prior to that that also had a tide-turning feel to it, but once that ball went over the fence I might've made it one more inning, or whatever inning it was put guys on didn't score, and I left. I was just not going to watch another party on our field again.
  21. I'm assuming you ordered with AMEX? That would make sense. The tiebreaker actually showed up for me yesterday (Chase) but has a date of 9/30.
  22. I missed '82, but for me, the worst moment I've ever experienced, by far, was Puig's HR.
  23. IMO this is the best or 2nd best team the Packers will have played to this point. Probably give the edge to Philly, but the Lions have a good combo of size and speed offensively and a formidable if inconsistent QB. They did beat Philly and played KC tough. It's a pretty good test of the Packers defense. The Packers offense should continue to move the ball, they're not really scary on that side. Like the Packers again, something like 27-20. Keep padding that record. Just took a peak and wow, the Lions have quite the cupcake schedule from here on out.
  24. The cancellation for the tiebreaker was initiated 9/30. If they did that once the team was eliminated for all orders, then it would hit tomorrow, assuming the tiebreaker hit your account Monday. With how early and cleanly they were knocked out this year I would guess people see it this week.
  25. From this link: Looking at their website, Delaware North operates the 1919 Kitchen & Tap in Green Bay. I'd imagine it'll be similar to that. Good find, and that would be a tremendous upgrade.
