  1. Teams coming back like that is a regular occurrence so that alone doesn't bother me all that much, that's the modern NFL. You can be flagged back into a three score game in minutes. I see it every week. If you're competent at all on offense going down 20 points seems to all but assure a tense finish. It's become like the NBA in that regard. That said, for scoring 34 points there's just a lot that feels missing. No secondary target has really stepped up for Rodgers.
  2. You're not a Packers fan apparently.
  3. Complain? Pointing out the obvious contact King made on that INT was funny. Sorry if I don't drink the koolaid 24/7 and laugh when a CB is allowed to literally slap a guy in the head four times. Maybe go back and read the first reply to this thread.
  4. Not sure what that's supposed to mean, and feels rather uncalled for. That was sloppy. Cooper had 230 yards.
  5. Feel about the same as I did coming in. Defense has issues and offense needs a receiver not named Adams to step up.
  6. Roughing the passer. Lol @ this league. What a disgrace.
  7. Is it just me or has our RT false started without a call about five times?
  8. Letting King slap the WR six times, lmao. I've kinda been in and out of this game doing errands, and can't believe it's still on. These feel seven hours long these days.
  9. Cowboys going to stay in this game via that dropped bread basket pick.
  10. King drops way too many INTs. Really becoming a detriment to his game.
  11. I didn't mind trading Villar at the time but a LOT of people did, and vocally blasted that trade.
  12. Which I think is fair to this point. Dallas has not been impressive at all. The Packers have chances to prove if they're for real. The Lions have a good team this year, and that trip to Kansas City is a great midseason test.
  13. That was his point. They could buy anyone, and if they choose Hader it's because he's better than what they can buy.
  14. It is fascinating to me, over the last two years, how "un-fun" the postseason has been. Even Moose's walk-off in Game 1 of the NLDS felt more like a relief. Winning Game 6 felt like it brought another day of nervous tension. There's wonder in that tension for sure, and I hope we get more of it, but the playoffs remind you how cruel and random baseball can be. I mean a weird HBP and a broken bat single turned that WC game. By the way, in Game 7 of the 2001 WS series, Craig Counsell came up with runners at 2nd and 3rd in a tie game against Mariano Rivera. He got hit on the hand. Luis Gonzalez then hit a little flair to win it. Baseball is weird. That's why I love it. That's why it breaks my heart. I don't remember anybody being really dejected when the Brewers got punked by the Phillies in '08. We treated the WC clinch like a pennant. We're greedy now.
  15. Great post. Even after thinking through this for a day or so I'm not at all convinced that leaving Hader in was the wrong move. I understand why those that think he should have been removed believe what they believe. I'm just not convinced Hader wasn't the right call even with the struggles. I'm not either and that has never been my position. I've never thought using him how he was used was egregious, just simply that it was not what I would have done. Maybe I just had random dumb luck that night, but we all get a lucky guess now and then. I didn't like his propensity for home runs, as I told my friend, I didn't want him closing it out unless it got to 5-1.
  16. This is the kind of game they always seemed to play well in under McCarthy. An overpowering offense on the road, people generally down on the team's last performance and then they come out firing. I don't think Dallas is all that. There's no excuse for losing to Teddy Bridgewater and scoring 10 points with the offense they're supposed to have. As an aside, the home field advantage in Dallas is probably the worst I've ever witnessed among visits to 12 opposing stadiums. The place just doesn't make noise. Some of that has to be acoustics. Go back to the Super Bowl and it just never gets very loud. I was at the Matt Flynn game and it just seems like the sit and clap all day. My buddy is a Cowboys fan and goes every year, he refer to it as Library Stadium. I am worried about the Packers rush defense but I would rather be tasked with figuring that out between now and January than have a coverage unit that is clearly awful. In the 3rd quarter Wentz had 68 yards, it was just a bunch of situational stuff that made them look worse than they were. Anyone claiming that unit isn't better is delusional. No matter the results, you are still seeing guys in position to make a play, making tight coverage, vs. the defenses of old where nobody is within 10 yards of a WR. You can scheme your way into a rush defense much more easily than you can mask a terrible secondary.
  17. In defense of that, there have been lots of times when Hader hasn't had it and still gets out of the inning unscathed.
  18. I anticipate that happening but Dallas has trouble getting out of its own way sometimes and will probably still throw 30 passes.
  19. Hader is an elite RP, he's not an elite closer but that analogy still doesn't work for many reasons. One being that Yelich gets one AB.
  20. The last two posts are exactly how I feel about him. You won't get another chance to deal him for what he'll get now. I really don't know what that is though. Probably less than what people think, because he is still just a reliever. Prospects often suck, but we need them, and he is the best way to get them IMO. If it's underwhelming, roll with him. Summer of 2021 you're probably there with Yelich too, but this team could be so different by then he might be a huge piece of a title run.
  21. That's a stretch. A big one. Removing a clearly struggling pitcher has never been the same as pinch hitting for the MVP. You know that's a stretch.
  22. Me too and it's not looking great.
  23. What flame-throwing relief pitcher has sustained a career with basically one pitch? I'm genuinely asking for a list of guys. Because my fear with Hader is that the hitters are simply too good for that to work much longer. Really makes what Trevor Hoffman did with his injury just absolutely incredible.
  24. Didn't you type this: But if someone else had blown the game late like that I would be feeling more like "Well what can you do, they all stink," rather than "Hader blew it and I saw it coming." It's called context and you're not getting it. The point there isn't that the entire bullpen sucks. It's that I didn't want Hader to close from the get-go and if they'd tried another strategy I would at least feel like they tried it and it just didn't work. Whereas I saw the Hader train wreck coming and find another outcome easier to live with. Even if I concede that CC decided Hader would close the game before it started, which I think is stupid, he still should have pulled him way before that bases clearing hit. Game was still winnable even with the strategy I didn't like and bad Josh showing up.
  25. I like the Packers. Good QBs seem to have places they just always play well and Rodgers seems to do so in Dallas. Fitting, since that was his first real game action when Favre got hurt and people started to think he might be good. Hoping to see a bounce-back game defensively but I think it'll be the offense's best game to this point.
