  1. My only problem with Drake there was the 2 guys on. The pen is to the point where you have to do something you don't love just for stamina's sake. I have sympathy for Drake. He's not a terrible pitcher and is constantly put in awful situations.
  2. Pretty sure I was at that game and was supper bummed that Suter pitched that day. He had tickets to that right field section right on the field and the game was over rather quick. That's what Harvard ballplayers do.
  3. You are being a bit to technical with where he sets up in the rotation. They hoped he would be a #3 level starter. Whether at #3 or #4 when Nelson returns. They also said they would go into offseason planning on getting nothing from Nelson this year(probably a wise idea). They signed him while also thinking they could tweak something to make him even better. For a guy who was #3-like last year and at many times in his career I don’t find that hard to believe. Uh, actually I think the opposite is true. Those bashing him right now (and I don't like him) are being entirely too technical with where he pitches because it doesn't actually matter. They signed him to replicate what he's been his entire career. If he does that (he hasn't after 3 starts) and it's the 3rd best SP, that's the Brewers fault, not his.
  4. Because they didn't sign a guy to be our #3 on a 2-year contract when Jimmy Nelson could be back pitching in June. He wasn't signed to replace Jimmy Nelson.
  5. That isn't true. I think they signed him to be a 4/5, the top 3 in this rotation are pretty clear When Nelson is there. They signed him hoping to get a slightly above 4 ERA guy who pitches 6 innings on a good night and gives the team a shot to win if they score 5 runs.
  6. I hated this signing and still don't like it but this is going to be a long a** season if we're making threads for everyone who sucked last night. The team is playing horribly everywhere but the pen, even there the closer is on the DL, and they're 6-5. They're fine right now.
  7. Something something adversity wins something something help later on
  8. The Brewers have had guys so much worse than Drake. I don't get the whole thing against him.
  9. It is a different fan base because the great majority of the ones at Miller Park can't afford Wrigley.
  10. The real home field advantage is seeing your family, sleeping in your own bed and eating breakfast in your kitchen, as well as just being familiar with the stadium and surroundings for most of the year, not crowd noise, especially in baseball, when the crowd is silent 95% of most games wherever it is.
  11. You're not as free market as they come, clearly, and no, shoddy high school quality defense cost them the game, not the extra fat guys in row 8 wearing blue.
  12. The Packers comparison is nowhere near equivalency because they are one of the most iconic franchises in American sports. The Brewers aren't in the same stratosphere. I think it is very weird how seriously this is taken by some people here. It's a baseball game...sorry to say it but if I had tickets to every playoff game agaisnt the Cubs I'd likely attend 1 and sell the rest. You guys don't own a monopoly on what "sports is supposed to be about," you're mouthing off about a bunch of froo-froo nonsense. The guys on the field are from all over the place and earn more in an at bat than most of us do in a year. Because there are five guys on this forum in love with the idea of keeping Cubs fans out of Miller Park doesn't mean that's a representative sample. If there were that many "willing to pay a premium" this wouldn't be an issue because the place would be full of Brewers fans. This is how it will always be unless the Brewers are 80-50 and the Cubs are 50-80. It's simply about the demographics. Only schedule the Cubs during the week for three months? To keep their fans out and decrease revenue? That sounds like an idea sourced from a second grade classroom. The level this bothers some of you just screams inferiority complex. Just let it go.
  13. Packers fans do this just about everywhere. There is seldom a game with fewer than 10k of them in ant stadium and then they are very good it's closer to half the stadium.
  14. The 10 pack is so much worse than the 20 pack in terms of everything you get that this isn't a very good option. I can't make it to 20 games, but I love the SSH perks and playoff tickets when they do make it. If they offered a 10 pack that offered what the 20 does, I'd get that instead. Until then the Cub fans are subsidizing it for me. I suppose I don't know who's buying them but I assume it's them. It's really kind of a tired topic imo. People can do what they want with their own tickets. Not even sure more Brewers buyers will make a difference. You'll have tons of Milwaukeeans selling when they see a ticket in the terrace selling for $65.
  15. Brewers finally decide to start a game and then forget how to finish.
  16. Not sure how you pin this on him. The defense was pathetic.
  17. I don't know what people expect re: crowd noise. That area is 50x the size of Milwaukee and that team has 500x more fans. These people mostly come because they can't afford Saturday afternoon at Wrigley. The Brewers aren't the Packers.
  18. Somehow Shaw's error was the least annoying play. I don't know what Thanks and Arcia were doing.
  19. There are at least 4-5 names that I would have guessed before Houser. Definitely a surprise, I know the guy has decent stuff...but I don't see how he's a better option than Williams. I feel like Williams is to the Brewers as Jeff Janis is to the Packers. Except Janis is no good. And plays for the Browns I'm cool with this.
  20. It's possible to be calm, which I think I am, and still think Chacin blows chunks, which I do.
  21. The 2011 team was 0-4 and 14-20. They were middling around .500 until about mid July.
  22. I'm comforted by how bad all facets are playing. Makes me think everyone can get better.
  23. Obviously go to him first if he does. His tickets are also better than mine, but I have both 6/12 and 6/13 if interested. I have 2 to each game in the sec 418.
