  1. I keep seeing comments about how we'll "miss the playoffs next year" because "teams like this rarely last." I get winning the World Series is difficult but I would probably wager the Brewers make the playoffs at least 3 times in the next 5 years. You can tell these people pay no attention to anything other than free agency.
  2. God I love the Dodgers subreddit. Every other post is a salt mine about how bad the TV ratings will be and how much better they are for baseball as if literally any Brewers fan cares one lick. What a pathetic angle to take after getting your teeth kicked in.
  3. All due respect to the 1982 team and those players, but I've waited my whole life for the crowning achievement of this franchise not being losing the World Series and it's one game away.
  4. This exact same thing was said about the Packers last title. They were 10-6 and their offense was bad most of that season. It looked like it was going to be accurate until they played the Giants and the rest is history.
  5. Last night he was screaming after one of the dumb plays. A guy got thrown out on the bases or something. I can't remember which one but I had a similar thought, that they were melting down.
  6. That and nobody posting is on the team. It really doesn't matter what gets posted, lol. Tampa feels broken. The Simpson catch into the wall actually gave me that feeling of a series-turning play...but I don't think a team on Earth can come back from that 8 runs with 2 outs to go down 0-3. This is a mental game and that is just a killer.
  7. Imagine someone telling you that Miz has thrown 13 1/3 innings in 3 starts and then telling you the team is 10-1 and up 3-0 in the World Series. I think Miz has been just fine, but any path to a title I envisioned a 7 game series at least once where he made 3 appearances.
  8. That inning never happens if Yelich is out at 2nd. Unbelievable. *To this point* the strongest resistance came at the hands of San Diego. I've said this 3 or 4 times now but the forgotten moment of this run will be the Gary Sanchez AB in the 9th with 2 outs. There were pitches in that AB he is usually hacking at, but for whatever reason he sat on them. The entire series could have turned on that AB which ended in a walk. It's burned in my memory.
  9. I didn't enjoy the shots of the dejected fans. Just not a group of people I need to see suffer. LA was fun, not so much these folks.
  10. Gasser just an absolute animal in October. Talk about a bailout from Harrison's collapse. Could not have possibly been better if that was his last inning.
  11. Probably the smart play on his part even though it ended up unnecessary.
  12. Did a very nice job of hitting the brakes and not really hitting the wall too terribly. Great play.
  13. If this happens and we're allowed to complain about a World Series title run, for me it'll be that every clinch game was on the road.
  14. I'd prefer Ortiz. It is kind of funny that throughout the dominant playoff run, their defense has been pretty bad. There have been plenty of really nice plays, but there's been a ton of mistakes.
  15. No I think this is spot-on. The Packers looked like they tried milking clock anyway on that drive, hoping to get positive plays out of the run and hoping they would get a touchdown on at least two sets of downs rather than just draw up their best plays to score. If he punts, they likely milk it all off if they're able to move the ball at all. They guaranteed themselves another possession by playing it how they did.
  16. The expectation that they'll come back from any deficit makes it hard for me to be really nervous until the inevitable 1-run lead in the 9th with 2 guys on base. I feel pretty good. I think we are going to have the brooms out again, but even in the worst scenario where we drop 3 in a row I would still feel like we have a puncher's chance going back to MKE.
  17. The game is just incredibly boring. I've missed a lot of the Packers games over the last few seasons, maybe sat down to watch 50%. This year I've seen the ones at night, and either missed the daytime games, or kind of check in for a series between other things. When I am watching, I find myself phone diddling or whatever because I'm honestly just bored. So much stopping and starting, so much interruption. Sunday just culturally belongs to the NFL and always will, but good lord is the product bad, and while nobody wants to admit it, all of that began with replay being reinstated. Every cathartic play is met with hesitation to make sure NY agrees. Make sure his cleat didn't brush the white, make sure he maintained control. That and "protecting QBs". It completely sucks to watch.
