  1. A minute off the clock and a punt. Not ideal.
  2. I don't think a single Packers fan on Earth thinks this game is over.
  3. I'm sooner to whine that we squandered a couple timeouts we could have used at the end there than I am to bemoan McManus.
  4. McManus has had some awful luck this year being hurt and then being asked to take dumb kicks that you forget about when looking at his overall numbers. A 54 yarder in freezing temps and 15 mph wind is a tough kick. I think he's a good kicker.
  5. Watson has a chance on a better ball there.
  6. That was the perfect 1st down call for that situation.
  7. That's a killer. It will take an awful lot for CHI to recover from this. But I've seen the Packers pull off some incredibly bad things. Can't, can't, can't give up 6 here.
  8. Honestly feel like the next play will decide this game. They're either let back in the game or it's a dagger.
  9. I'll give him minor slack that if he didn't fall down he probably thought he could run for a while.
  10. One team has gotten turnovers all year and the other has not. I think that will decide the outcome. It will be incredibly frustrating.
  11. Exactly. It's gotten dumb. You convert and yay, you have the ball at your own 46. Just kick it. Play the field position game. Getting a first down on the opening drive was probably a net positive. If they're deciding between a 57 yard FG and going for it that's one thing. This was just dumb, regardless of the point spread.
  12. The worst part of this game is that I'm expecting the Packers to lose but not because they're worse than the Bears.
  13. It's gotten out of control and the pendulum badly needs to swing back the other way.
  14. Rodgers was still the QB and won MVPs. That is a massive wrinkle to gloss over. The comp should be the transition from Brady, which they have nailed, and achieved more than we have since Rodgers left. IMO it is extremely dismissive to just say "Oh they had a top 5 pick, that's easy," because there are a litany of teams that have had that and did jack with it. We took AJ Hawk. The Pats turnaround is a lot more than just Maye, too. You are right, it is too early. But they are looking awfully well positioned. Not that GB necessarily isn't, but we have to actually have a season where we put it together first.
  15. I don't think Matt LaFleur himself can explain Bo Melton dropping passes in favor of letting Golden play. It all smacks of old fashioned "he's not ready" coachspeak. Well, Melton isn't "ready" either.
  16. I get the point and agree with it. But AJ Dillon had 200 touches for 3 straight years. He was a legitimate part of their offense. I think they got pretty amazing value out of the assets they used to create the Jones-Dillon tandem. Dillon never quite had the burst/power I think everyone assumes he would have based on appearances, but it's not like he was useless.
  17. Brother they were 14-3 and had some games where they absolutely pounded the piss out of teams. At least one that beat the Packers. They're good. They didn't create the schedule.
  18. If you draft Clyde Drexler instead of Michael Jordan, that's still a whiff. Sounds like a reading comprehension problem. I am trying to imagine the shoe being on the other foot and can't stop laughing. If the Packers transitioned QBs, coaches etc. and were stuck in a 7-seed purgatory, everybody would be making excuses for said GM because there was a regime change...oh wait... I mean, look at the last few posts. They spent a bunch in FA, that's being used as an excuse? And the Packers haven't since Gute got here? If you spend money on Aaron Banks and Nate Hobbs, it's still money. Considering that almost everyone assumed Wolf was the guy, I think it's more than fair to blast the Packers IF he ends up being a superstar executive. Which at this point, he is not, but what NE has done and the speed they've done it is impressive, having a top 5 pick is not a guarantee of anything, or we wouldn't see the same teams there every year.
  19. Who said they suck? That's a lot of hyperbole to explain Lukas Van Ness and the litany of bust early picks. And I actually Gute is probably in the top 1/3 of drafters, just toward the end of that list and not anything spectacular.
  20. For one, Wolf wasn't the GM in Cleveland, but acting like Maye is the only thing they've done right is crazy. I implore anyone that thinks that to just do some quick googling of their current roster. How many teams pick in the top 10 every year and still suck? What QB is Minnesota on? How long did it take Chicago? Just admit there are some sour grapes we probably picked the wrong guy and move on.
  21. I have low expectations for this game. It's completely realistic to think GB can win, but I just can't shake the feeling of a botched FG, a punt return TD in the 4th quarter for CHI, a fumble inside the 5-yard-line. Whatever it may be. It just feels destined for that kind of crap.
  22. Interesting. That checks out with what I had posted before the games were announced. Sunday 3:30 is the money slot, but they pulled some funky business to make Amazon happy. The NFL has also shown they aren't afraid to think outside of the box, perhaps Saturday Night Football is coming, and they want to see what a marquee matchup does there.
