The AI slop graphics in the broadcasts have been such an embarrassment all playoffs. Just a disgrace to see major networks resorting to that kind of laziness, and they look bad.

Crowd might go wild but it will be the large contingent traveling to Tampa, I think. I think he is going to start Game 4. They have 1-3 down. They really don't have a good choice for 4. May is a bullpen inning or two. Woodruff really fills a need, that is why I think this happened. Not because it makes them feel warm and fuzzy.

Ehh I don't buy it. Too smart for that. This is simply taking the upside of a guy who when he has actually pitched this season, looks like an all-star, vs. your 12th arm. If they were not impressed by his workout, no way they do this. And let's not act like SP hasn't been a problem. We've played around it, but I do wonder how many times you can go to Gasser and get the right result and we still have the May situation on our hands. It makes plenty of sense.

Got to feel for Patrick, who pitched well this year overall. Has to be brutal being left off even if he was going to be the last name called, and watching everyone celebrate as you're replaced by a guy who has hardly been able to stay on the field. I get that it's a Kodak moment but I feel awful for the guy.

It's odd, I don't feel the way I thought I would when this would happen. For the Super Bowls, I was always a ball of nerves the whole day. All or nothing of one game I guess. I feel very calm about this. I think we're going to win, but I'm not sure that's why and I can't put my finger on it. I never thought I'd see it, so there is still some disbelief/surrealism. I also am conscious of simply not wanting the season to end, which it is either way. Just feel much more calm than I anticipated. Maybe because I know the road to victory is still long and nothing that happens tonight provides a clear result.

His charge is a misdemeanor and not labeled DV though and that is a problem for the league. That suspension would immediately be appealed and fought by the NFLPA. The league needs a DV conviction or the video or both. They are putting themselves in a very bad spot suspending him without either of those things. They are buying time, as far as him getting a paid vacation, they can address that too. They can suspend him and credit the games missed, but he has to forfeit the salary. They can also suspend him, say 12 games, credit the 6, and he has to forfeit the salary + go unpaid for the others.

The stadium isn't big enough for any of that to ever come into play. The demand far, far exceeds the constraints of the collective budget. If hypothetically you could fit 1 million seats into the stadium at $100/ea, these games would likely still sell out. But 44k people is nothing. The team itself could have 3x the price and it would have sold.

I get all that, but I was referring to $2-300 secondary market for a watch party. If I didn't get a $15 seat, I'd just stay home.

I'm not trying to judge anyone but I don't quite get wanting to be there that badly to watch a screen...and still do traffic etc. Different strokes I guess but I kinda had to be convinced even to go to a real game. I just like being at home.

I was going to post that exact thing. Is it really necessary the same people get inside the stadium 7 times? The whole point was a low-budget alternative for people who couldn't go. It's pretty pathetic. I see it from both sides though. I wouldn't do this, but I'm sure they'd have SSH complaining that they deserve first rights to purchase.

They are going to get demolished inside by capable bigs this season. I don't care about KPJ, but just a funny judgement on where the NBA is; I can't imagine a 17-7-5 player being released the day before the season in the 90s. Last night was almost exactly what I expected from this season. High energy, high effort, but no finishing ability and losing the 4th quarter most of the time. I thought they'd lose the entire time even as competitive as it was through 3/4 of the game. I just knew they wouldn't finish, that's just what the NBA is, nothing matters until the 4th. I don't have issues with the minutes in Game 1. Burries drew 3 PFs in 15 minutes and was a -12, he doesn't know what he's doing defensively, I trust Jenkins to move him along. -
I am enjoying the period of knowing we are in the World Series before anything has the chance to go wrong.

Because the team was crap, won 60ish games that season. Only real fans would have gone for this, which makes the whole thing that much worse to me. They were probably sweating bullets in '18 when they thought they might already have to redeem these. I don't think using current secondary market price is fair as it was unknown at the time of purchase and using it against the initial buyers just feels wrong. They clearly bought it for the experience of a World Series game, whether that ticket is $100 or $100,000 I don't think is relevant. It's not why they bought it. Using that to calculate what the Brewers give them 12 years later doesn't make sense to me. This is the same concept as building your dream home, then 15 years in a developer finds out there is oil under your property and you are forced off the land by the government for only market value. I am glad you agree though that this is poor service and greed at work. Interesting story but one nobody will care about in a week and a half.

It's quite significant on an initial investment of $1 million which is the revenue from the initial offer. They can't claim a loss when this had 12 years to vest. That's the point, not how much $500k is to them. It was a promo, it worked, they made money from it. They want even more, so they did not honor it.

But that's kind of disingenuous. We can't use today's secondary market to determine the kind of value they're getting for something they bought 12 years ago without any certainty it would be worth that. I guarantee you that if you approached the Brewers in 2015 and said "So if we make the World Series I can submit this for a seat on the first level?" The team would have said absolutely, you can! They lied. No gray area to me. They have high public support right now because they are in the World Series and everyone is happy. They would be getting so much more flack for this in any other circumstance. The many comments acting like these people are spoiled for being ticked off about it is shocking to me. Brewers changed the rules when they saw how much they could make. This is like one of these people asking for $7500 refund in 2055 when they never get a WS game. And like I said, the Brewers conservatively made $500k (likely much more) by investing these funds for 12 years. That should have been their gain from this, not marking up prices this week to stiff them.

I understand this reaction, just hope people stop and think that the Brewers made at least half a million dollars off this program in interest, and then proceeded to rip off their own fans.

I don't think that's making them whole though. These people got ripped off, they have a legitimate gripe. The entire purpose of this program is an interest-free loan to the Brewers made in good faith that you will get the best available seat. I keep seeing this issue get misrepresented on social media. The issue was not that the Brewers sold all the tickets. There WERE in fact better seats available than what was offered to these folks. People keep pointing to the "subject to availability" line. They were available. The Brewers simply didn't want to give away seats they were planning to sell for multiple thousands. Except they weren't giving it away, they were paid $1k for them 10 years ago. What they did to "fix" it doesn't come close to what these people bought in for. They spent $1k without ANY guarantee of a World Series game, ever, and waited patiently, then got slapped in the face at redemption. I think they deserve much more sympathy than what they've been given. The team should be bending over backwards to make this right. They can't now with the tickets sold out, but they can do better than this. I am pretty disappointed with the Brewers on this.

I want to see You Can See Everything so badly, but unlikely to be screened nearby and movies are just a hard thing to do with scheduling.
