  1. Back in December, my company gave me a compensation adjustment based on the market rate changes. It amounted to a 6% raise. And I'm still eligible for my merit raise in a month.
  2. I used to buy gas from Casey's in Iowa near my in-laws, but my mini-van would throw a check engine light every-single-time I did. Nothing serious that we couldn't drive it (but a major panic the first time it happened). It has been several years back so unfortunately, I don't even remember the code. But my van did NOT like that gas. It had no issues with KT though. Maintaining the fuel tanks is a big issue with gas stations, but more often it is a problem with XYZ gas station and not Kwik Trip as a brand. Not like they are storing it any differently than others.
  3. there's so many ways a person can treat others poorly that don't require resorting to physical violence. I don't know the ins and outs of Rodgers and his family, and don't care to, tbh, but these statements arent the be all end all of being a bad person. I didn't mean it to be the end-all-be-all for a bad person. But there is also nothing showing he treated them poorly or abused them in some way either (shared with the public). People assume the spat with his family is on him, but we don't know. What makes you think he is a "bad person" based on his treatment of his family?
  4. Well, we really don't know this. Anyone who torches and abandons their own immediate family has far more going on behind the scenes than any of us can know with certainty. fair. but hub arkesh doesn't know the why. jerk?? I mean ... he seems like a jerk. for sure. As far as I know, Rodgers has never beat anyone, assaulted anyone in his family, or anything remotely close to illegal to them. Thus not a bad person. At worst, his dealings with his family contribute to his primadonna and/or jerk status. At best, his family is filled with jerks and he is merely protecting himself. I have no way (nor desire) to assume either one is at fault...most likely it is both. Remember being not a bad person doesn't make him a good one... there is middle ground.
  5. When Netflix first started, my wife and I did the CD in the mail plan and watched all sorts of movies; both recent and 50 years old. It was very cool (and sometimes very weird) to watch some of the older classics. When that stopped, the streaming service still had 50-75% of what they had for DVDs. Then it seems that they got focused on producing their own content and competing with the other providers; who in turn started pulling their content out of Netflix. I didn't care for what Netflix produced, so we left. Amazon is probably the closest to the old video store rentals anymore.
  6. It isn't hypocritical to not like his off the field antics, while still recognizing his on the field skills and value to the team... In fact, most of us (here) defending him acknowledge him being a jerk...and still deserving MVP. Especially when his off the field antics are more annoying and not even close to illegal. Primadonna? Yes. Bad Person? No. MVP? Absolutely.
  7. Lol. Also, we're you the one who cut out half my post. Probably a good idea whoever it was. Nope, not me.
  8. I can't see the Packers losing to the Vikings in the playoffs this year. Book it!
  9. [sarcasm]Kwik Trip sells gas? They just keep adding new things![/sarcasm] Your first mistake was thinking gas was the main thing.
  10. OSS, yes exactly. A jerk, perhaps, but clearly not a "bad guy". Frankly, even Favre's cellphone picture history and drinking/drug issues are worse than anything Rodgers has done (not that a drug addiction makes Favre a "bad guy" either, but Rodgers hasn't even approached anything of that level).
  11. Which probably helps Rodgers...
  12. I don't necessarily disagree with their assessment of Rodgers off the field. But I've said that Rodgers is the better QB, while Favre is the one I'd prefer to hang out with (with the caveat that I don't know either personally). If Rodgers was a bad teammate, he would be derailing the team. Obviously, that isn't the case here. So all they are saying is that "non-football stuff" is why they won't vote for him, which makes no sense....except that this Bear's fan wants new ownership.
  13. Agreed. Throwing your body into someone is one thing. Throwing an elbow (with a wind-up no less) is terrible. Purdue must coach that because both of their bigs have flying elbows. I saw this live, but missed the push with his left hand after Vogt was already off balance, which made him tumble forward into the other Purdue player (who oddly flipped out on Vogt for it). I found it odd that the announcers talked about how physical WI was on D (and another team that gave Purdue fits), but it was Purdue's bigs that were crazy physical. I still have no idea how Vogt's last foul was on him. Watching MN vs IL last night was similar with Cockburn. Those three guys (Edey/Williams/Cockburn) will probably go high in the draft, but will get their clocks cleaned in the NBA if they try garbage like that.
  14. Agreed. This break really made me long for retirement! Too bad I'm over a decade away... I am officially 95 school days away... Not that I'm bragging. Congrats! [sarcasm]I'm not jealous at all![/sarcasm]
  15. Agreed. This break really made me long for retirement! Too bad I'm over a decade away...
  16. That would be the title of my autobiography if I could convince publishers there is a current underserved market for books like that. Autobiographies for Dummies?
  17. I consider the sauce as equal to any single topping on the pizza. Keep it light so it doesn't drip everywhere then pair the flavor balanced with the toppings. Pizza is not spaghetti drowning in sauce. The dough is as much about the texture as it is flavor. No rock-hard carboard, no doughy-goo (looking at you, Rocky Rococo) with crispy (not crunchy) crust edges or preferably no solo crust "edge" at all (toppings go to the edge). I mean, it is pizza, so I'll eat just about anything...but those are my preferences.
  18. Basketball doesn't have innings...or outs.
  19. [sarcasm]And yet on an inferior cell phone network, Gronk heard: Aaron Rodgers deserves the MVP![/sarcasm]
  20. A friend of mine is a big Purdue fan. I complained to him about the flying elbows...He admited they should've called a few more offensive fouls.
  21. What pictures of who does Yiadom have to stay on our roster?
  22. My brother might wish to live down south in Superior. Northern MN was -27...
  23. I like good pepperoni, but prefer sausage myself. A good SMOG pizza is my favorite. The Motor City pizza I mentioned earlier had two types of pepperoni (both flavor and cut different) and it had a really good flavor.
  24. Agree with this. You agree that OSS is the only one?
  25. Hopefully, we finish with a Winfree of injuries. (what color did we decide for puns?)
