Donald might help some this year, but is probably more hype than substance at this point. He was dropping off quickly the last two years he played... and that was 3 years ago. Having 2 years off might have helped his health, but it comes at the expense of keeping his body in peak physical shape. The margins are razor thin at the highest level of any professional sport. I'm pretty sure by the end of the year, he will have minimal or negative impact for the team.

Starting off the 2026 regular season at the same place we ended the 2025 regular season, but in a game that matters this time. The first 2-3 games of the season always feel like a box of Forrest Gump confectionaries... you never know what you are going to get. Questions abound with this new Packer team, but so does the potential. On Defense Can we keep pressure on Kylar Murray without Parsons? Or will we prefer to keep containment on a QB that is more dangerous with his feet? Who gets the benefit? Gannon's familiarity with Murray's strengths and weaknesses or Murray's familiarity with Gannon's D? How will our DB hold up with three solid WRs? On Offense How will a gimpy offensive line that hasn't played much together (or might have 2 backups starting) hold up to Flores' blitz happy D? Will we be able to run the ball at all? The Vikings DTs are rookies, but our interior OL and RBs are unproven also. What will come with our offensive strengths - Love to Golden, Reed, Watson, and Kraft? Will Love have time to connect with our strongest assets? Vikings' pass defense was very strong last year, but probably more on their ability to pressure than the talent in the DB backfield. -
I use my in-law's gas grill when I'm at their house. Charcoal is SOOOO much better. Nothing comes out as good without the kiss of the dragon!

That doesn't make much sense... AI speaks many languages. China is heavily invested in AI development with their own models too. I have two sons that graduated this year (Electrical Engineering and Computer Science). I can confirm that the job market is pretty tough. But we've had ups and downs like this before.

Once the cat is out of the bag, it will be impossible to put it back. No way teams and players are going to give up the $$ for Bowl games. We already see NFL draft picks skipping the Bowl games...

I hate to say it, but Sproat reminds me of Manny Parra. Lots of arm talent, but he gets rattled easily and struggles to recover. I wonder if they have coaching for handling pressure and keeping focus?

But over the past couple of years, we've built up a tolerance to getting knocked out of the playoffs... so clearly we will win either path we take!

I've been tempted by the slow and sear, but have a separate smoker anyway... so I'm not sure how much I'd use it.

Among the playoff hopefuls, Atlanta and SD have a higher Home/Away split than the Brewers But the Brewers are tied with the Phillys for the second highest road win percentage overall (to LAD).

I was going off memory, but thought they had dropped "only" to middle of the pack. Looks like my memory was off (shocker! 😂). But hey... our JV team did a good job stopping MN. All year long, run D was a struggle. It became a struggle as soon as we traded Clark and relied on a bunch of low round/UDFA rookies for depth and starting. That should be theoretically improved. Our starting NT last year didn't even make the team this year. It will be interesting to see how the DC is able to generate pressure without Parsons. I think this scheme will play to our CB's strengths (or cover weaknesses if you prefer).

Without Parsons last year, This doesn't mean 2024. After Parsons was hurt, we were somewhere in the 15-20 range of defense.

Thinking more about the McCord situation... I'm guessing that Gute gambled a little bit. I'd imagine they were wrestling with keeping McCord as the 3rd QB or lose him in waivers when Miami called for a trade. In order for Gute to feel comfortable with a trade, he had to be reasonably sure he could grab another QB for the practice squad. I'm sure he looked around the league and had his eye on a few guys that were 4th on the depth chart of other teams... but then several teams kept 4 on their active roster. We ultimately signed Kedon Slovis, but that feels more like a concession then a real development option. The teams with 4 QBs can't keep them forever. The season is going to push that button at some point. Here are the teams with 4 QBs and the one that is 4th on the depth chart: Vikings - Max Brosmer was already cut and resigned to the PS. JJ McCarthy is rumored to be trade bait. I'm not sure I'd bother with either of these QBs. Falcons - Jack Strand - a 2026 UDFA out of Div II MN Moorehead. Could be an interesting prospect to watch with big skills, yet raw talent. Eagles - Cole Payton - 5th round pick that is unlikely to be cut. Sounds like a Taysom Hill experiment more than a QB, which might explain why they have 4 QBs. I'll guess they cut Palmer or McKee if anyone. Steelers - Drew Allar: A 3rd round pick, so it is unlikely he is cut. Will Howard - A 2026 6th round pick to keep our eyes on though

Personally, I see Love, Watson, Reed, Golden, and Kraft coming together in a big way this year. That tends to fuel my optimism. Without Parsons last year, we were a middle defense. With him we were top 10 (with a huge hole at DT). That hole seems to be fixed. Our CB situation isn't strong, but stronger than last year. The OL is the area that concerns me most. ZBB doesn't give me great vibes to start the season... I think Belton starts game 1. But Morgan should be better than Walker. We have two backup Gs that are improved on last year. Rhyan seems to have figured out the C position (after being thrown in last year). If the OL is solid and Parsons comes back healthy, we should have SB hopes.

When Uribe struck out PCA with that low sinker, I thought... there is that PCA from last year that swung at anything below the zone... The challenge was laughably bad too. Almost as bad as him jumping at HR balls 20 feet above his head.
