  1. Fixed. I'll grant you that Davies is the better pitcher today, but that answer will take 5 years to see who actually got the better deal.
  2. Yes, but for all the reasons you list, you draft one now so he contributes next year or the year after at least (how long will Adam's stay elite?). Plus with the depth of the class, it seemed like a match made in heaven as good talent would drop down the draft board lower than usual.
  3. Or if King leaves in free agency. My prediction is for 2021.
  4. Beat me to it.... The big no-no. Nada. Maeda going all NEIN! (I went with the international version). And just for Maeda...
  5. The Gophers could play at US Bank. The Vikings don't play any meaningful games there in January anyway...
  6. I almost made a joke about that. But for those congratulating me... thanks! And to Underachiever, I wish you and your internet connection a lifetime of happiness!
  7. January start for Big10 football would be pretty brutal. Does anyone have an indoor stadium? Badgers at Miller Park?
  8. Big test for Burnes tonight. Back in the starting rotation and facing the Bomba squad. Keeping the ball in the ballpark will be a challenge...
  9. Right now, their best DH option is probably whomever is not catching. Narvaez has looked poor, but history indicates that will change. Pina looks like he is refreshed after sitting all of last year (almost).
  10. Much was said the same about when we first got Thames, Sogard (the first time), Chacin, Lyles, Miley, Aguilar, etc... Yes, there have been Boone, Albers, Jennings, etc... that didn't work out. But that is the approach that the Brewers are going to take. And really need to take. Yes, we have a budget (who doesn't???) and no it isn't the Yankees budget. But if you are judging our players by the few games of this season, we need to trade Yellich and Huira too. No one has been hitting well this year on the Brewer's team.
  11. This seems like the most-abandoned thread of 2020! I just graduated with a master's degree in engineering management from Penn State after 2 long years! It feels great to have that behind me now. Please no, PSU jokes. I'm still a Badger at heart! UW just didn't have an online degree.
  12. [sarcasm]Maybe the "bubble"' is getting to Giannis. He should go golfing. [/sarcasm]
  13. Sure. But look how many you had wrong!
  14. I guess it depends on what you expect out of Bell. If he is the 750-800 OPS player of pre-2019, then we have that in Smoak. If you expect more of 2019, then it seems like a fair deal. Of course, if Bell doesn't have to face Woodruff anymore, his numbers will improve.
  15. I'm not sure the NBA bubble is even feasible in MLB. They have all the basketball courts they need in walking distance from each other. Hard to do that with baseball fields. Even in FL/AZ for spring training, the fields are hours away from each other. I think they should've been more specific about some activities that aren't allowed that are inherently higher risk (i.e. bars, clubs, etc.) and held people to 14 day quarantines if they broke those rules. But this all started when you (OSS) mentioned golf (along with some high risk activities) and I simply asked if golf was prohibited by MLB. I wasn't sure at the time.
  16. Sadly, I'm not sure how I can make it MORE clear what I am saying... "MLB will not formally restrict the activities of Covered Individuals when they are away from work" - so they are allowed to play golf. This isn't the NBA bubble. They are asked to use common sense and avoid risky activities. Golf is not considered a risky activity. Yet the fan's expectation is that they only eat, sleep, and play baseball. If you disagree with how MLB is running the show and would prefer the NBA bubble, fine. But don't shame a player because they have done something low-risk that they are allowed to do.
  17. I'd be surprised if the draft didn't happen, but the crapshoot is who will be available in it? I'm guessing it will be more akin to the MLB draft this year. If you found someone that had very low expectations on the year and had a WR on the last year of their contract, you might get someone to bite on a trade. Of course, they might want a 1st round pick where a 3rd would be sufficient any other year. And there is probably a higher possibility of a draft next year than a full season this year...
