  1. I'm stunned no one has figured out that there is an app for that. https://softonicsolutions.com/apps/make-me-thin-or-fat-body-booth
  2. I honestly forgot we still had him...
  3. I'm not sure how Kizer looked solid. He had one good drive and he runs well. Boyle had a much shorter stint but made many more plays. He at deserves to flip/flop with Kizer and play with the 2s to compare apples to apples. But his arm looks WAY better. Kizer might need to watch Wilkins. If he shows enough, it might be worth dumping Kizer, leaving Rodgers/Boyle on the active list and Wilkins on the practice squad.
  4. The Vikings are only treading water. They should've been much better last year (based on talent), but weren't. I think the coaching staff stalled like many defensive focused staffs that can't seem to find any traction offensively. They lost a couple of good players without much to replace them. I'm guessing Zimmer is fired after this year after they go 7-9. Cousin's is booed out of town despite throwing for 4000+ yards. The Bears were built on defense last year. Now Vic left town as did a couple of FAs; again without much to replace them. I'm not a believer in their QB; he runs but has suspect accuracy. I think they step back while playing a 1st place schedule this year. Maybe 9-7. I'd play the games. There is probably only a 10% chance of losing both. At least a 25% chance you win both.
  5. Plus this should be a conversation about Dubon, Pomeranz, and Black. It shouldn't have anything to do with Arcia or defense...
  6. I'd rather see: Cain (right) Yelich rf (lefty) Hiura 2b (righty) Grandal C (switch) Moose 3b (lefty) Braun 1b (righty) Grisham lf (lefty) Arcia ss (right) Pitcher No need to put pressure on Trent right away.
  7. Pomeranz's career stats look a bit like Jimmy Nelson's. Similar WHIP, BB/9IP, K/9IP(Pomeranz is actually a bit better), ERA. Both of their better production years are closely tied to their BB/9 rate; things quickly go south when they exceed 3BB/9IP.
  8. Didn't he try to get a long-term deal the last two years? Seems like 2-3 years is the new "long-term" for any 30+ non-superstar player.
  9. I think there is a limit to what you can carry forward also.
  10. I think there is a limit to what you can carry forward also.
  11. I'll never forget Sabathia hustling to Milwaukee and taking his normal turn in the rotation, so he could get two starts before the All Star Break (Doug Melvin told him he could wait and start later that week if he wanted). That crowd on that Monday night of 35K+. I saw the Brantley at the All-Star game last night and wondered what "would've been" if they took Green instead. At the time I was happy to keep Green, but wow what a swing in fortunes.
  12. Or just look at the whole thing. Ryan Braun is hitting 272/321/455/776 for the whole season. That puts him at the 20th best LFer or 45th in the OF in the entire MLB. Of those 45 OFers, 10 others have fewer ABs than Braun. Ryan has 280 ABs. These 45 OFers range from 240-360 ABs (Yelich has 304). So, while not the top of MLB OFers anymore, he still is starting caliber. Just bottom third... And he'd be the 17th best 1B offensively in the MLB.
  13. Kind of odd how many #11-20 have signed and how few #1-10 have signed. Normally, it seems that we are assured the top 10 rounds will sign and have more difficulty convincing the 11-20 rounds to sign.
  14. You might be able to pin some of the locker room issues on Chryst. But after an excellent 2017, the Badgers were ranked 4th in the nation as people expected Hornibrook to continue his improvement. But even before his injury, he looked "off". Major regression year for him. And we didn't have a backup QB (or at least one that was ready). That was the major deflating point last year. But frankly, we have been spoiled. Its frustrating to not break into the BCS championships, but we were in contention 2 of the 4 years Chryst has coached. And won decent bowl games all 4 years. This will be the first year with a QB that Chryst recruited also. Should be interesting.
  15. Agreed. That is why I left the "probably" in there. Hard to compare head-to-head, but I'd take Gordon by a little. But the bigger point was having a two headed RB. In the games that Taylor gets bottled up, doesn't play well, or simply resting, there isn't a big second string RB like White coming in. Back then (with that 2013 OLine), we probably could've just run every play. And I think a couple of games we practically did (when Stave was really off).
  16. Tolzien was better than most people realize or remember. The guy had a decent career as a backup QB in the NFL. Stave had an NFL arm, but lacked the accuracy. Stave's best year (2013) matches up pretty closely to Hornibrook's (2017). And ironically, both had similarly poor years before and after that. But Stave had the advantage of having Melvin Gordon and James White in the backfield. Jonathon Taylor is good, but probably not as good as Gordon and no where near a backup as good as White.
  17. and he entered with a +7 ERA and we can't touch him. Well 2 runs in 3 IP is 6 ERA, so pretty close. (Yes, I know you posted that before the HR )
  18. I agree that Burnes should go down to get right, but Nottingham can also go down to make room for Shaw. He needs some regular time catching too.
  19. I'm guessing the weather played a role in it. Its just "another" game to the local Twins fans, so I'm thinking many just stayed home. For us Brewer fans over in West WI and MN, its our only chance to see the Brewers this year, so we chanced it. I joked with my boys that we should go sit behind homeplate because half of the seats were open. The weather will be much better tonight.
  20. Should be warmer weather tonight. Last night, there was a light mist for a few innings and a cold wind blowing in from left field (which makes the HRs hit to left more impressive). I was really missing Miller Park last night, but it was my first chance to see the Brewers at Target Field. My two sons and I celebrated the win with the Braun-Yellich-Cain-raised-hands-celebration. And that was probably the loudest half-filled stadium I've ever heard. Mainly because the Brewer fans would start up some chant and the Twins fans would boo. Then the guy running the scoreboard would have to put up the "Go-Twins-Go" chant just to get the Twins fans to chant. Hilarious.
  21. Agreed. My first impression was that it was a bad shot. Then watching the replay, no one was really in his sightline and he stepped into the shot nicely. Sometimes you wait too long and don't get a shot that good.
  22. Toronto didn't play great, but we played horrible and it took 2OT for them to win.
