  1. [sarcasm]Maybe they just rest Giannis the whole series?[/sarcasm]
  2. I'd guess that they might look at someone after the draft to fill any last holes. Wilkerson seems highly probable depending on how they draft. Another safety might make sense too.
  3. She was from my neck of the woods (my alma mater plays hers). And one of my friend's daughters went to school with her.
  4. Hundley had no accuracy past 10 yards either. Maybe that was footwork instead of arm, but it was a major issue. So any 4-5 round QBs of interest? Drafting another QB (and the Favre/Rodgers timing) crossed my mind also. Granted, that was precipitated by a huge fall by Rodgers. maybe someone falls in our lap at #30?
  5. Yeah, that is very good news. I think our need at G really diminished then. It wouldn't surprise me to see a OT/G but in reality, we have decent starters and depth for this year now.
  6. Wow. I loved me some 80's Bucks basketball, but I'm a little surprised these two are HOF worthy. Buck's HOF absolutely. They were both very good players, but not quite HOF worthy IMO. Granted, I've not paid much attention to whomelse might be in the HOF either.
  7. Frankly, I hate these expose' type of articles as both MM and Rodgers get blasted without ever having any of their input. I'm sure a good portion of these comments are pretty true, but when presented out of context its hard to say what is accurate. It was obvious that something was wrong the last couple years. Play calling and execution was horrible. Something certainly needed to be done about it. And yes, the HC was going to get the axe when you pay your QB $200M. So Rodgers' real chance to redeem himself will be on the field this year. And he has more material for a shiny new chip on his shoulder.
  8. And potentially the most talented among the group, Terrance Murphy never got to play in the NFL. That was TT's position though. We'll have to see what Gute's are. Don't forget Gregg Jennings We will see if Adam's passes Jordy, but so far Joday was the best of those five 2nd round picks.
  9. Nice write-up as always. Right now, my #12 preference is DT Oliver. I've seen him get mocked anywhere from top 5 to #20. Are you assuming he is there when we pick or not? Also, I've seen White get penciled in heavily at #5 with TB. I do agree with your take on Hockenson though. Seems like he is going to drop into the last 10 picks of round 1. Fant has been mocked to go in the single digits at a few places I've seen. But I have my doubts he will go that high. If Oliver or Sweat isn't there at #12, I think I'd prefer to trade backwards. If the player isn't going to be "special" might as well get more bites of the apple.
  10. Yeah, I'm good with that. I guess that foe tab is there for a reason. If you feel that you can't have a good conversation with someone, then please use it, but I'd prefer people just understand when to walk away from an argument. Realize that opinions are like butts; Everyone has one and sometimes they stink. Just know when to walk away and stop smelling their opinion.
  11. Actually, they teach you to get any ball you can reach unless you are called off. The OF needs to call him off.
  12. I think the concept of teams (like UK especially) building whole teams around one-and-done players is a bit surprising.
  13. Yes, let's end the this and get back to real Buck's discussion. You disagree with each other's opinions. The horse is dead; move on.
  14. Rule of unintended consequences. They tried to keep the best talent going to college and they produced the one-year-wonder teams like UK. Time to reverse that, let the HS players go to the NBA and development teams like the Badgers will be better off.
  15. Technically you are correct about fastballs, but actually wrong about Isaac Newton.
  16. Curse my work schedule! I miss all the good stuff. [sarcasm]Chacin for MVP! All negative mustache comments are a bannable offense! - Your "rockin' the 90's Dad stache" moderator[/sarcasm]
  17. Yount is a Brewer legend. His appearances in the booth will only change after his death. Might as well accept it.
  18. Well, first of all, I'd have gladly given Clay 5 million to come back. He's still clearly worth that much. But nowhere in my post did I even suggest the Packers should have signed him. I pointed out he made one of the biggest plays in Packers history, but it seems to be a play that few really remember, then said it was hard to believe that he had higher offers and then and suggested that maybe he had a higher offer, but with less real(read-guaranteed money in it). Even if that is what I said, I think Clay's career with the Packers amounts to a bit more than one play 9 years ago. That seemed a little unecessarily snide. You're suggesting I'm advocating for signing(and again, didn't even advocate giving Clay the deal) Howard Green because he had a big play 9 years ago(hitting Big Ben as he threw it on the Collins pick). That said, hard to believe he was getting offered more than 2/16.5 with incentives. This was the crux of your post. The "that said" part was only supported by the discussion of that one play 9 years ago. I wasn't being snide, I was simply responding to your post to say that good business decisions aren't based on sentimental memories from years past. If that isn't what you meant, I'm sorry. That is how the post reads. I also would take Clay at $5M if he agreed to play that hybrid MLB/OLB role I discussed in an earlier post. But I added the "+" to generally mean deals over that. So 2 years at $8.25M/year I would avoid for players north of 30.
  19. You can't live in the past and give people contracts based on what they did. Especially when it was 9 years ago. Unfortunately, it was time to move on, but we will be a better team for minimizing the number of players over 30 on the team. At least not giving them $5M+/year contracts.
  20. They have the Packers taking Hockenson even though Sweat and Ed Oliver are still on the board. I can see some dropping of Montez due to the heart issues, but I can't see how you could pass on Ed Oliver to take Hockenson. Is Hockenson clearly an elite talent? Sweat or Oliver would be a great get for the Packers. I'd take either over Hockenson. I'm really interested in Devin Bush as well. Yeah, I'm thinking that if Sweat and Oliver are gone, they trade down and look at Hock/White/Fant.
  21. When does the draft compensation for Kimbrel stop being an issue? Its not the worst idea (for Kimbrel) to just wait until someone inevitably gets hurt and get a better deal.
  22. Trade 2B Rijo for Kratz Trade Kratz for SS Hinojosa Equals a free 2018 season from Kratz plus a defensive infielder upgrade.
