  1. Yeah, I almost voted other too. You should include "offensive" in the thread title. I was looking for Gallardo. How would that change anything for Gallardo? He still should be included! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Seriously, I picked Braun. Bounce-back from last year. I can see him competing for the batting title this year, too. 330-340/420/600
  2. Aside from the buffalo chicken sausage as a menu item, can you imagine how great a racing sausage costume that would make??? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif But if its not made by Klements, its not going to make the cut...
  3. I figured the Sausage skewer seemed like a natural marketing idea. Allows people to try all 5 without eating one of each. Plus, throw in some veggies or pineapple between and its healthier than just a normal sausage on a bun. (How Rocky Mountain Oysters got connected with health food is beyond me). As for the skewer, I would imagine a fairly blunt stick, ala a corn dog stick would not be cause for any harm. And when you put any food on a stick, it makes it taste better!
  4. Who voted 76 or fewer? It was probably that rotten Cubs fan that pops in every now and then... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  5. Is it just me, or does that picture remind anyone else of Dave Bush?
  6. I forget what team it was, but you have to feel bad for the one represented by 90210... I wonder how many people saw the Terra Nova commercial, saw the one guy, and thought it was some sort of spin-off / sequel for Avatar? I did see the commercial for Terra Nova and commented to my wife that it sounded interesting. I haven't seen Avatar, but it looked like a combination of Jurassic Park and Land before Time....
  7. I also grew up with AL ball, but have to admit that I prefer NL ball. I don't care to watch pitcher hit per say (hello Ben Sheets!), but I appreciate the subtle moves and decisions it drives in the game. I'll be one to just say no to the DH...
  8. I liked the NFL Fan commercial where they used clips of old TV shows with NFL gear superimposed in the scene. Is there any cooler GB fan than the Fonz? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. Lt. Frank Drebin of Naked Gun. Best EVER! I actually didn't listen to Christina Agulara sing the whole thing last night, as so many butcher it, I stop paying attention (and that is the shameful part of it). But I do remember her completely missing at one point (either "free" or "brave" at the end of the song) and being surprised that a singer like that could miss so badly. I'll also throw in that most people are not used to singing with the stadium echo, so that throws many off.
  10. On a lot of Brewer teams over the past decade, those numbers would put you in the number 3 slot going into spring. And yet, on this team, he is the #1 SP target for upgrade. No reason to "settle", just because we did in the past. Those are good enough numbers to compete for the #5, but not good enough for me to hand him the job (if it were my call).
  11. I'm sure they are very content with Wolf as the 4, as am I. I must have misinterpreted then. I realized you were focused on Young's salary, but too many have lumped Wolf in with Suppan. If this was last year and we were talking Suppan, I would fully agree on him for a salary dump. But trading Wolf now puts a big dent in out SP plan. Yes, he is #4, but our #6,7... SPs are all unproven and/or a big step down from Wolf. Rogers may bust out this year, but I would prefer it be a pleasant surprise, not because we forced him in the line-up. Betancourt + Wolf >> Young Betancourt + Wolf + Hawkins >>> Young If anything, it would have to be: Betancourt + for Young + cash : where the cash is mainly dependent on the level of minor leaguer we give. Not that it matters, I don't see DM making a big splash at SS anyway. At least not until its an obvious problem (injury or YB completely flopping around mid-year).
  12. Maybe Cashman is setting himself up to jump to the Red Sox... That would throw some gas on the rivalry fire.
  13. I wouldn't mind DD signing a MiLB deal as our sixth starter either. The thing that worries me about Washburn is that he didn't pitch for anyone last year. Granted, the same could be said about DD...
  14. Wolf would probably have to be kicked in as well Please repeat after me: Wolf is not Suppan. Wolf might not be worth the $7m/year we gave him, but he is still needed and useful for our rotation.
  15. Brian Cashman has had some interesting interviews lately. He has stated that he thinks Jeter will move to the outfield eventually and that the Red Sox are the better team. I'm sure most of this is posturing, but kind of interesting anyway...
  16. Board isint going to be done for the SB anyway, though that would be neat. I figured, but it would have been cool. I'm not sure why the NFL would prohibit something like that. That is, if they got their share of the proceedings. I'm pretty sure I've heard of movie theaters showing football games (live) before. Seems like it would be a neat alternative to actually attending the game. If your stadium (or BB or basketball) has a nice screen, sell tickets (and concessions) to watch the game. The bonus of having it at MP would be to actually sit down on the field and watch the game. That would be unique enough to sell a lot of tickets.
  17. So Mark, do you mind if we come over in a couple weeks and watch the SuperBowl on your new big screen? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  18. Wow! Fielder sure looked thinner in that Onion interview! Must have been cutting back on carrot sticks...
  19. This is awesome -- Angels beat writer for the Orange County Register compiles a word cloud for trade reactions from both Angels and Jays fans. I just want to know who got the Ninja?
  20. 0-for-3 with a walk (he was then picked off) I'm betting he was going to swipe 2nd in order to try to impress Roenicke... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  21. I don't know about that... Its hard to calculate his CS% on auto parts, but he was only caught once. (Just don't bring up small sample sizes, please). http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  22. Platoon him and Counsell and you instantly have the grittiest/scrappiest platoon of all time. You are two coaches too late... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  23. Even if it isn't career ending, wrist injuries can quickly sap power and bat speed. Turning a good player into average or worse.
  24. He is only 8 months older than Fielder. The only difference in signing him long term vs. Fielder is that Votto would be cheaper, since the first few years, you are buying out the arby rate, instead of FA rate.
  25. Doesn't winning the offseason mean anything anymore?!?!?
