  1. Fiers is also a great comp because of his "rising" FB. Fiers had less velocity, but because of the spin on his FB, it never dropped like normal FB and made it hard(er) to hit. I'd absolutely take a Fiers level career from Meyers (and I think he would too).
  2. It's been 5 days rest for Dallas Keuchel since he last pitched. That would be a bit of a whirlwind for him to make a start after just joining the club like that, but...
  3. For those that are not old enough to know what tabloids are... There was a time when real news was compiled and written on tree pulp. We called them newspapers. Then we gathered all the fake news and wrote that on colorful tree pulp for the amusement of people to read while in the grocery store lines. We called them tabloids. Separating the two made it easier to distinguish the gullible people from the rest of us. Today, both real and fake news are mushed together and broadcast on social media. And it turns out that now we are all gullible. 😉
  4. As others have said, it is a low cost move to band aid our rotation until a few more get healthy. Not a needle mover but plugs a leak in the dike which has value. I guess by saying "meh", I join the ranks of the "happy" here at BF. 😂 Even if that were true, it is laughable for that to be a concern in light of everything else MLB players have been involved with or accused of...
  5. I probably should read those...
  6. My impressions: I didn't know Murphy was retiring Looks like Policy was instrumental in Titletown development around Lambeau Muphy gets a lot of grief (perhaps for good reason) with the Rodgers communication stuff that blew up, but otherwise has done well running the organization.
  7. I appreciate you going all out for the team!
  8. Brewers find a new baseball efficiency... keep hitting the catcher's glove!
  9. Kind of frustrating for us too... Let's not feel sorry for them. 😉😂
  10. Willy spits on exit velocities and launch angles to get that single.
  11. Wow, those were 2 bad strikes on Sal. Strike zone crap continues...
  12. That pitch was quite a ways outside and broke down and back on Willy. Pretty hard to know it was coming back in.
  13. Back to Willy! Time for another run!
  14. Cease with 90 pitches while Rea had 43... wow, that is a big disparity
  15. RIght. Using the first-round pick to trade away Pat, Lopez, or Bobby as a means to shed salary. Pat is probably just a dump. You might get something "youngish" back in return. But more importantly, you allow yourself to sign a FA that will more likely contribute than the #23 or #33 pick. Yes, we need to get younger, but the end of the NBA must be the most crap-shootingest of all crap-shoot pro sports drafts. Yes, you can get good players but there are such a high percentage that completely flop... I think we have a better luck attracting young players with a few years of experience that can contribute.
  16. Well, trading it away is easy... getting actual value might be hard. Not having actual value (while carrying the same price tag) probably adds to the likelihood of it being traded.
  17. Hmmm. Brewers vs Orioles in the WS. Game 7 comes down to Cy Young Corbin Burnes pitching against ROY Joey Ortiz in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs in a tie game.... could be interesting.
  18. I tend to hate MN less since the Brewers are in the NL. 1987 still stings though... Plus Kent Hrbek pushed him off the bag with the tag. But I'd cheer for a MN/MIL World Series where we sweep them. Beyond St. Louis (#1) and Cubs (a close #2), the Yanks draw the rest of my ire.
  19. March/April: 2.9 PA/G May: 3.8 PA/G June: 4.1 PA/G You might notice a trend...
  20. Brew Hoop did a comprehensive article (though headache inducing due to the cap complexities) about the Buck's cap situation and things they have to do to remain under the second apron so they can actually make impactful changes to the roster. Two points I thought were pretty spot on: 1) One easy way to shed salary is to trade their 1st round pick. It could be packaged with Brooks or Bobby to bring back an impact player or with Pat to salary dump. 2) We have a pretty significant group of young players and adding 2 more low picks probably isn't the most beneficial. It looks like AJJ and AJG will be rotation players next year, so they probably won't move. Beauchamp and Livingston look less likely to contribute while Beauchamp is probably the only one with tradeable value. So I'm guessing that since our 1st round pick is one of our best tradeable assets (and adds more $$ to the cap), I tend to think that we will only add one second round pick this year and probably move the 1st round pick.
