  1. A question for those of you who have followed Hunter Morris. Is his BABIP of .357 giving us any false hope for him? I am excited to see how much he has improved, but don't know if he can keep that up.
  2. Sounds like Segura's bat has much more pop than A. Escobar, but his defense is not as good. I think the Brewers/Melvin prefer that trade. I think 1 1/2 years of Zack and the 3 prospects more than make up for what we gave (as long as the pitchers develop command).
  3. I think the Brewers have quietly been playing Gomez more often against RH starters already. I think it is the right move. I think Gomez's defense is more than marginally superior to than Morgan. Morgan more than likely has no future with the team. I agree he should play everyday and see what he does. I admit I kind of root for him and want him to do well. I have a baseball crush on his defense and power possibilities. I want him signed to a cheap three year deal as well.
  4. Given the fact that 2012 is not working out as we expected with so many facets of the team under performing, the inevitable sell off of Grienke, Marcum and hopefully K-Rod and Wolf will probably occur. If that happens the Brewers starting staff will be Gallardo, Fiers?, Thornburg? Peralta? and Estrada/Narveson or prospect from trade. Free agents like Hamels, Grienke, Shields would probably be too pricey to sign. Gavin Floyd or E. Jackson might be targets, but I am not sure if that would be enough. I don't know if 2013 is realistic to contend. Might have to wait until 2014 for Jungmann and Bradley if they work out. Thoughts?
  5. Wow. Best defensive game I have seen in a long time for our Brewers.
  6. I am glad for the defense as it was painful to watch Abreu steal a base last night. K-Rod probably had something to do with that though. I wonder how Randy Wolf will handle the switch.
  7. You could get an MRI on a Sunday but most hospitals/free standing clinics won't staff them for sunday's unless it is an "emergency". Team and team MD's like having their own radiologist and MRI machines do the study. Getting the MRI on a Sunday would not change the outcome of the injury or the timing of recovery. Most of the time the physical exam will indicate what the injury is, the MRI is just needed for confirmation. Although the trainers on this team have seemed to have missed the last two ACL injuries as they let both Gamel and Gallardo play after their injuries occurred. Swelling should limit the ability to read the MRI.
  8. All I can say is after last year's September, anyone giving up on the season in early May is being a little too reactionary. Think of the positive, the Brewers have way underperformed so far this season and are only 3 games under .500. It will turn around soon. As someone mentioned above, the Brewers get will get to beat up the Cubs and others. Weeks and ARam will hit, and KRod and the staff are not as bad as they have performed.
  9. I lost all respect for Florio when he destroyed Aaron Rodgers without knowing the facts with that airport incident.
  10. The Padres will probably trade one. What would it take to get a potential 1B of the future? Is Peralta too much?
  11. pebadger thank you for your time and information. Brings me back to my days of when I worked in a research lab running ELISA tests. I am so far removed from technical part of lab testing now you forget how many different steps and chance for misread there are. Do you know if they split the B sample at all to be able to test at 2 different labs?
  12. pebadger great work. The only problem for me is exogenous steroid. My interpretation of that means they found a synthetic hormone. If his test was slightly positive or insanely positive should not matter. Hopefully the ESPN report is wrong or my interpretation is wrong, but if correct he has to explain how synthetic hormone got into his body.
  13. It is still a better deal than Furcal and Gonzalez has been durable.
  14. Unfortunately, the most plausible explanation to me is that he has probably been using a substance for a long time and somehow now got caught. A few things don't add up to me like the ESPN report stating that the WADA confirmed an exogenous source of testosterone. Braun's camp is vehemently denying a PED or steroid. I don't see the benefit for Braun to flat out lie now because if he were to lose the appeal and the substance came out his reputation and ability to market himself is shot. I am hoping the ESPN report about an exogenous source is wrong or that the lab somehow screwed up a sample. To me that would be the only way he can get out of this.
  15. On the radio side I believe we have been blessed with excellent people next to Uke. Pat Hughes, Jim P. and Cory. I hope the next hire will live up to the standards. Listening to so many other broadcasts through MLB app and Sat radio make me appreciate what we have. There are really boring/bad radio announcers in other cities.
  16. Cant argue with RRR with Kotsay on three times. Defense another story
  17. As long as the brewers keep Furcal from hitting homers ...
  18. The biggest thing I am disappointed about is the fact that the Brewers can't hit Collmenter after seeing him twice. The lack of adjustment is frustrating to me.
  19. It doesn't bother me one bit. Prince is not worth the money he will get. His WAR is 4.4 on fangraphs which is barley in the top twenty of players. For what he will cost the Brewers will do much better upgrading SS and getting a better defensive 1B.
  20. I will be there Wed afternoon as well.
  21. I hope that doesn't mean he is thinking about picking up Yuni's option.
  22. Great work there, but at some point we cool off and go 3-7 in a ten game span. Also, if the division is locked up I can see many AAA players playing in the last 10 games or so.
  23. Welcome back Casey. Once Weeks is back 2010 offense is intact!!!
  24. Don't know if Hart for Beltran is rumor or speculation on this board, but I agree with those saying that Beltran doesn't make sense. Beltran is better than Hart for sure. If it takes many resources to get Beltran and the Brewers dont have a chance to upgrade 3B or SS because of the cost it is a mistake in my opinion.
